Review for Dr. Coffin: I have had multiple pets seen by Dr. Coffin over the decades (since 1999!) and have stayed with him because I appreciate his compassionate and knowledgeable care for my pets. If I could get ahold of him directly, this would improve my most recent experience with his clinic.
Review for the office manager/clinic operations: I had no problems at all until the last few years (pandemic time). The clinic now has very limited hours (still in 2024), and getting information about prescriptions, or getting them filled has been exceptionally frustrating. Communication about what they can do is not always clear or friendly, differs from what I'm told by Dr. Coffin, and at least 50% of the time requires at least 5 email exchanges for getting prescriptions renewed or filled to start with. Add that they are closed all but 3 days / week and the amount of effort to get things done becomes excessive.
My sense is that Dr. Coffin is retiring and has left many (perhaps too many?) duties to his clinic manager who has been disappointing in her approach at least with me. Again, I'm sad to write a less than stellar review because I've appreciated them for so many years, but out of a 5 for Dr. Coffin and a 1 for the manager, my rating is a 3... in the middle of the two. Great care, but lacking great customer service.

Dr. Steve, Veronica and staff have been caring for our dogs since 1997. Dr. Steve is a caring and compassionate vet who always takes extra time to FULLY explain what is going on with my pet and then gives us multiple options for their care. We have NEVER been disappointed by Dr. Coffin or his staff and feel pretty lucky that Interbay Vet has been there to care for our dogs. They are a great group!

We have used Interbay Veterinary Care Center for our cat since we moved to Seattle in 2015. Dr. Coffin has a wealth of knowledge and insights. He drew from many years of experience, and laid out the pros and cons of the many choices we had to make when caring for our cat. He will spend as much time as it takes listening to concerns and questions. The staff is great!

This is not a good veterinarian in terms of TRULY wanting to help your animals. Sure, they answer phone calls, do not cancel appointments. But when it comes down to taking action for your pets, just like any establishment in Seattle WA, they will drag their feet and try to get out of doing any work whatsoever. It's a shame because pets can't vouch for themselves, and pet owners WANT to put trust in the veterinarians care they "provide".Not the doctor (Dr. Coffin), but the tech here have the worst attitude I have ever seen, and I have been to vets all over the country. It's evident they don't want to be there, and animals sense that energy. It's not good for keeping animal stress levels down when they are in a time of need and seeing a vet.I regret giving them any business and will not recommend this establishment to anyone who wants the best care for their animals.

Great team to help through the anxiety of a sick pet. Their care is great. My cat doesn’t have any problems with their team and the team does a great job explaining all the things that are important and then some.

Recommended by a neighbor who is also a neighbor of Dr Coffin. Unfortunately never got to see the Vet because the intake staff immediately walked my pup straight back out after drop off and refused to treat him because he was anxious and "difficult" to restrain. Good thing there are other vets in Seattle that are willing to treat dogs that need a bit more care and professional handling.

Dr. Coffin is the most knowledgeable vet I’ve ever met. When something strange was happening with my cat’s ears, he told me a few things it could be—very costly to treat autoimmune issues, or simply food allergies. Rather than only telling me the expensive treatment option (as other vets have done) he gave me a ton of research to help me get started with allergy treatment. And it was food allergies! I’ll never take my animals to a different vet if I can help it! And the staff are always incredibly supportive, great listeners.

My wife and I are so happy a friend recommended Dr Coffin and his staff (Veronica is amazing). When one of our cats was diagnosed with cancer at another vet, they were slow and didn’t give us any options, other vets were the same. Then we went to Dr. Coffin who gave us so many referrals and options while also giving us a detailed end of life plan to ensure we were giving our cat the best life. We moved our other cat’s care here, as well as a new puppy. Dr. Coffin is the most thorough and compassionate veterinarian we have ever encountered and goes above and beyond in his consultation. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and comes off as much more up-to-date with research than other vets in the area.

After a horrible experience at a chain vet clinic, I got a spot at IVCC. I dropped my rescue pup off with Veronica and Dr. Coffin called me within 20 minutes. We spent an hour and a half on the phone as he walked me through everything from diets to behavioral suggestions to flea and tick treatments. I felt seen, heard, and validated. He never pushed any one product on me and he followed up with links to information for me to do my own research. Diesel was happy when I picked him up and seemed to have enjoyed his visit. I will definitely be staying with IVCC for the long term and cannot express my gratitude to Veronica and Dr. Coffin enough for their thoroughness in educating me on how to give my dog a great life.

We’ve been through a lot of vets and the pricing here is very fair. Also they are always willing to squeeze in my senior dog for any emergencies if they’re open that day. Dr. Coffin is very thorough with his examinations. Our pug had a spinal injury and my pug recuperated almost 100% despite having grim chances of recovery. He made sure that he was well taken care of and we had all the resources and knowledge that we needed to make an informed decision on his health.

Business is closed on Friday and I needed a place to park for less than 2 minutes to deliver 1 package. He decided it was more worth his time to tell me I'm going to be sorry for parking here than be a kind human and let someone use the space you do not need as you are close to help the lives of those who do real work.
