I didn’t want to leave this review but, after seeing other people with similar issues, I realized it was important to share my experience as well.I contacted Karl in August 2022 for his help furnishing my new condo. I had seen unique pieces on his Instagram, and he was prompt, professional, and kind in all of our early interactions. We agreed on a plan for twelve different items, and I paid a significant advance on each (with the explicit understanding that the plan might change over time). Things went well at first, if a little slow, but eventually dragged on for months at a time with no update. After a bad experience with two items—one which was changed without my permission and assembled poorly in my living room, and one of which was significantly more expensive than expected—I told him I wanted to scale back the rest of the project. He asked that I pay the balance on the latest item (rather than apply the other money as credit), and implied that the rest of the deposits would be refunded afterwards. As soon as I paid, he stopped responding altogether. I’m now out thousands of dollars for furniture I never received.I’m still hopeful that Karl will return the money he owes to multiple customers, and will update this review if he does.

It is with a heavy heart that I share my recent experience with Jacob Willard Home. As a long-time admirer of Karl's unique style, I felt confident in consigning some furniture from my late father's home during the difficult times of the pandemic.Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse after Karl sold the pieces and informed me that he owed us $1500. Despite his assurances of payment, I have yet to receive the amount. To make matters worse, Karl has ceased responding to my messages, leaving me feeling disrespected and frustrated.I genuinely hope that by sharing my story, I can encourage Karl to address this issue promptly and help prevent similar situations from occurring with other customers. I still believe in the talent and potential of Jacob Willard Home, but these matters must be resolved for the business to maintain its reputation for professionalism and trustworthiness.

We purchased several dressers 5 weeks ago. Karl promised them in 2 weeks, but kept pushing it back. Now he has stopped responding to any calls. we went by the shop; it's closed and the furniture we purchased that he was supposed to be working on is still sitting in the window exactly as it was when we bought it. He took nearly $4K of our money, and I fear we got ripped off

Probably gets my vote for best-kept secret in Seattle. I first came here after finding some furniture listed by the owner, Karl, on Craigslist. It was one of the best discoveries of my time in Seattle! Over the past couple of years years I've come back many times to check out what's new and have ended up taking many pieces home. There are quite a few furniture resellers in this city, however their turnover is low and the prices are incredibly high. Jacob Willard Home is one of the few places I've found that hits the magic combination of reasonable prices, unique inventory, and amazing customer service. Karl is incredibly knowledgeable about furniture, art, and design, and his taste in curating new pieces is excellent. The primary focus is mid century, but there are quite a few modern, postmodern, minimalist, and brutalist pieces too.
