The new owner was rude, crooked, and charged twice by installing the defective part first and telling me to come back with the good part. First, he quoted he would charge me $200 for labor to install the catalyticconverter. The next day, he claimed the old part was hard to remove so he would charge me $50 more than he quoted . If i did not want to pay more, he threatened me to take the car back without a catalyic cinverter installed and then demanded me to pay him $80. So i agreed to pay more than he quoted in the beginning. After he completed the taks, he said the part he put in was defective. He told me to come back with another good part. Then, he charged one more time by removing the defective part and installing the good part. I will not do business with them again.

Short version: Jakob charged me $305 to put an oil pan under my vehicle in the parking lot. No service was completed, my van didn't go into the shop, and after 4 days of hearing "I'll do it tomorrow", I towed my broken down vehicle somewhere else.Long version: Unfortunately, this is an in depth review of a terrible experience after feeling slighted by Lorz Automotive. My van broke down on a Saturday and I had it towed to Lorz because of the good reviews on google and yelp and close proximity to where it broke down.Their hours say they are open Saturdays but nobody was there. I waited until Monday morning and by 9:30am nobody had showed. I asked a neighboring business to contact his cell phone and then shortly after he arrived. After speaking, he agreed to inspect my car and to communicate with my warranty company about the repair. I was grateful at this point because my van was immobile. He said he would get to it "soon". I felt at ease.I called on Tuesday and he said he would get started by end-of-day. I called on Wednesday and he said he now planned to inspect it on Thursday morning. I called on Thursday afternoon and still he had not moved the vehicle into the shop, contacted my warranty company, or taken a single tool to the vehicle. After 4 days of this run around I gave up and paid for a tow truck to take my broken down van away from Lorz. When I went to retrieve my vehicle I had no expectation of being charged a dime because nothing had been done. I wasn't too upset and figured he simply overpromised and was too busy to provide any service. But I thought it courteous to offer to pay something for having it sit a few days. Before he wrote up the bill, he asked me if my warranty would reimburse his charge. This felt extremely fishy...does that affect your price, Jakob? What a joke. When I said no, he pondered for a moment, ran some numbers in his head, and then said he's going to charge me $305 at a rate of $160/hr.So let's review the expert level service that was performed for 90 billed minutes at $160/hr:1. Scanned the codes (5 minutes?)2. Put an oil pan under the car to catch the leak (2 minutes?)3. Opened the hood and shined a flashlight at an oil leak (3 minutes?)4. Wrote me a quote for $7,000 that he never even sent me.5. Wasted nearly an entire week giving me run around. My vehicle did not enter the shop. It was not put on a lift. No wrenches or tools were used. No parts were ordered. No service was done. No calls were made to file the warranty claim. After 4 days of telling me "I'll do it tomorrow", zero effort was put forth and I still paid over $300 plus another $200 tow it somewhere else and start over!!The new shop inspected the vehicle and filed the claim in 24 hours and it is now getting repaired.I will never go back to Lorz Auto and would not wish this experience on anyone.2 stars earned for letting me park my broken van outside your shop. thanks! Photo is where my van sat from Saturday-Thursday.Services: Transmission repair

Had a pretty tough issue to diagnose with my car. Jake ended up diving deep into the possible causes, figuring it out and getting it fixed. Great and honest communication throughout and price was very reasonable. Car is running like a champ now. I’d recommend him to anyone.

My car had a busted starter. He was professional and understanding as I had an issue with my insurance tow. He was willing to see me same day. And even took it on the second day cause my tow never showed. He fixed it quickly and it's still working so it must be done right. Thanks Jakob!

Highly recommend this shop! Lorz was very helpful and took the time to explain everything to me about my car. He is honest and did not try to upsell anything or over charge. As a person who doesn’t really know much about cars, I trust him and would definitely go back.
