Believe these recent reviews. The sandwiches were so bad we threw them away. BLT inedible with creosote bacon. Bread hard and nasty. Ordered for pickup, but the sandwiches weren’t even started on arrival and had to wait 12 minutes for crap. This place is done for sandwiches.

BEWARE!! the sandwiches here use to be second to none and now they are truly TERRIBLE!! And the service takes FOREVER!! They use to pile on the meat and tuna salad and now, although the same price, barely any on it and slimy, in threw my last sandwich away after one bite.
SOOO, if it’s been a while since you got a sandwich here, don’t bother coming back, it’s been under new ownership for several months and they own several other locations and are never ever there! Do yourself a favor and look through the RECENT reviews and you’ll see I’m not the only old timer who no longer goes here.
Oh, and they don’t stock their shelves like the previous owners either with shelves being bare for weeks. And wtf is with their refrigeration? They stopped adequately refrigerating their milk and dairy items. I was desperate for 1/2 & 1/2 and I put it right back in the fridge cuz it was warm (which must be violating health codes)

My previous review with this place was 5 stars, then the amazing owners sold the place last summer and it went down hill fast. The shelves go bare for weeks and limited restocking and when they do it's not necessarily with the same product as before, especially bottled carbonated drinks but other items as well). Their sandwiches were amazing before, piled with protein and absolutely delicious…now, if you’re desperate, they’re adequate at best with not even half the protein they use to have. Before they had a few staff members that were there for a long time but now a rotating door of here today gone tomorrow employees and no one remembers you and we all know high turn over means bad management. Speaking of owners, don’t believe the review recently that says the owners are great as they are literally never there lol the review also made reference to great sandwiches or something, also untrue, I’m guessing it’s a relative or friend of the new owners as the ratings for this place have already dropped from 4.9 to 4.5 stars and the only reason it’s still that high is cuz the overwhelming reviews for this place are from before it was sold to this new company.
Additionally, we have a friend and neighbor that has gone to this place for over 40 years, but they too no longer go for the exact same reasons I mention here.
Probably shouldn't admit this but my partner and I use to spend $100-150/week at this store, sometimes more, but no more.
My previous review here:
Love this place, I moved nearby a year ago and come here all the time (usually daily) for the various items, it's a well stocked mini market. And the sandwiches are excellent, for example most sandwich places give you all bread and very little protein, but Lyons gives you a pile of protein (i have to be carful when I eat the tuna salad sandwich cuz chunks will fall out of the sandwich if I'm not careful, it's wonderful) and their breakfast sandwiches are to die for.....

This place used to be really good. I'm from NY and this used to be the closest match to authentic NY deli style sandwiches. New owners must hate having customers, because the sandwiches have this horrendous rock bread now that just plain sucks as a sub roll. You could probably break a car window with this bread. Everything slapped together, tasted nothing like how they used to, the proportions and preparation are all wrong. Just look at this first picture and tell me how you gonna serve this for premium sandwich pricing, and then look at the second photo of how THEY USED TO LOOK LIKE for the same price. The second photo is a sandwich I made at home with bread I baked in a home oven. If you're going to buy what used to be the best sub place in Seattle, at least try. It's sad when a good place goes like this.

The sandwiches are great, it has pretty solid groceries for such a small place.
They did sell me almond milk that expired the next day but I had some libations and didn’t check it

Fell off hard. Used to be the best sandwiches in the neighborhood and the interactions with the cashiers were at least pleasant. They sold 3ish months ago.. you noticed from the start

This place used to be amazing. Key words:USED TO BE. I don't know what happened. The sandwiches went from super delicious to super trash and sloppily prepared. The customer service has also taken a big decline. The fact that I had to take strands of hair out of my sandwich is INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! It's sad to see this place going downhill. I didn't mind paying for these overpriced sandwiches because the quality was A1....but to sell overpriced sandwiches with hair in it is DIABOLICAL. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN

Great sandwiches, probably the best in the city but the service is lacking. Young black lady either messes my order up or forgets about it

$8 for a half gallon of milk?! The drinks are never cold because they try and save money by keeping the refrigeration at the lowest level. The sandwiches are good but $15...

I used to love this neighborhood sandwich shop, but my recent visits have been disappointing. Since the new management took over, the quality has declined. The sandwiches are less flavorful, & the service feels rushed & less personal. (Shoutout to the guy who stayed because he’s the only reason I would even go in now) Being so close to this location my partner & I would probably spend an average of $100 - $130 a week here, but not anymore. The shelves are always empty & so are the fridges. It’s just really depressing to go in now. The atmosphere is still cozy, but it’s not enough to make up for the changes. I hope they can get back on track because it used to be a favorite spot of mine.

So this is a second review. I have given this place 5 stars a couple of times over the past 7-8 years. But a few months ago the previous sandwhich god sold and retired to new ownership. At first the sandwiches were the same… for the most part. But as I got my sandwich as normal and took it home to eat I realized it was half as big as it used to be, smaller slices of bread not thick crunchy wheat bread like normal. Half as much meat and they forgot my bacon which has never happened before. The new owners push so hard to get a review of 5 stars but they have already changed this place for the worst it is no longer the filling meal but a regular sized sandwich Might as well make your stuff at home now. Alas the magic sandwich shop I was shown is gone. I’ll still come here but I definitely won’t go out of my way like I used to for a mediocre expensive sandwhich. I’ll be back for them to Change my opinion but unless they make some big changes they are losing there lyons loyal customers.

Since the ownership change… it’s lost appeal. Would rather take the drive to Fred Meyer than deal with the cashier with the dreads.
Won’t shop here again…

I been coming here for years since I moved up and previous owners were great people making amazing sandwiches and they helped me adjust to the neighborhood and Seattle in general. I used to get their sandwiches once or twice a month and have a nice chat with the owners, but now with the new ownership, quality of customer service and the sandwiches have tremendously gone down. I see empty shelves and it is no longer being restocked and there's a new worker behind the counter with dreads and she threw a hissy fit at me just because I asked for a bag and she said "For the love of God, here is your bag". She also caused the phone line to be down for about a hour or so and customers couldn't make phone orders for the time being; she didn't really acknowledged it or even apologized. As a Lyon's faithful, it's sad that the place is going downhill and sadly I will not go back, unless the previous comes back
