Rare and new books of all kinds. Only a university neighborhood could maintain this quaint business; a book lovers dream.

I've visited Magus since undergrad and their selection is unmatched. I always find great copies of books for myself and for others. During the shut down they had mailed me a few titles that my then newborn and I still enjoy. Recently revisited, while the UW students were on break, and found more excellent kid titles for both my kid and a friend's baby shower. Throughout the years, I have always been impressed by their selection and quality of used titles. They don't buy books everyday. If you're interested in selling back I recommend calling to check when they are buying books.

Absolute WORST EXPERIENCE selling books here! It was so awful, they tried to rob me by stealing one of my textbooks and claiming I only brought 12 books instead of 13, and I came back to get them in a hurry and they ended up switching my BRAND NEW History of the Modern Middle East book with an old, used book. They picked out five books they wanted to buy (all brand new in excellent condition) and offered $15, when I didn't like the offer, they crumpled up my paperback covers and were so careless and disrespectful with them. My suggestion is to never sell them any books because they don't respect people or property.

One of the best used bookstores I've ever been to, super solid selection, super good prices.

I love having a membership to this bookstore. Two used paperback books $8 each bro I’m sold.

What a cool place! Staff was SO helpful with helping my teen locate some books she was wanting. Tons of books. It's a tight space due to the amount of shelves and books, but this wasn't a problem for us since they had so many books to choose from. Good prices, too. We will be back!

hands down one of the best bookstores I have ever been to - it's a place to be cherished not only for their insane selection but also for their prices - I go at least 2-4 times a month and always find way more than I intended to - and even when I buy a stack it's the same price as 1 new book - a true Seattle treasure - I have so much love and appreciation for this place!

One of the last great used book stores in Seattle. Vast selection of fiction in every genre, as well as an extensive philosophy and theory section. Trade paperbacks and graphic novels, sci-fi and fantasy isle, and rare and out of print books behind the front counter. They are regularly buying used collections, so what happens to be on hand at any given time changes from week to week.

The collection at Magus has an impressive curated quality. I also greatly appreciate that they are perhaps the only bookseller in the city to have a dedicated NYRB section! It’s so fun to browse the shelves here and come home with many interesting titles every time!

Beautiful selections of every genre you can imagine, the medieval music playing and the very friendly and helpful staff were the cherry on top. They didn't get annoyed when I asked for help four times, and when you ask if they have a specific book and it's available they somehow manage to get it to you in less than a minute! Lovely area, probably try to come by bus if you could, it's a wonderful experience <3

Magus Books deserves it's reputation. The aisles are super skinny and tall, but the selection is really neat and at really great prices! I decided to go for a bit of a gamble item - piano sheet music in cyrillic for $4.50. A fun fund!

Battled horrid traffic, and parking is an absolute abomination, especially if you have a heavy load of stuff. To boot, they aren't buying books right now. OK, my bad for not calling and checking first, and the lady on the phone was very nice, when I called to ask where to park, but an extremely frustrating trip to a really abysmal part of Seattle thanks to overpopulation, traffic, no parking, and terrible roads. Never even got inside the store.
