I came in during their early morning rush and asked for help with a paint coloring problem. They were so busy but were helpful and made a heroic effort to help me. They did end up getting me what I needed. I am very appreciative of their knowledge and kind customer service. Great place!

Had the paint I needed, was able to prepare the colors quickly, and prices were reasonable for the quality. Clean store, friendly staff.

Go during the week! The staff on the weekends is a mix of clerks who ring up purchases and people who know paint. I left with nothing on Saturday because the young woman helping me had no clue about painting and I had so many questions I was not confident about the purchase. To be fair, they were 30 minutes from closing, but neither of the other counter guys came to her aid or mine as i was struggling with her knowledge - or lack of.

I desired to match a discontinued Pratt & Lambert exterior latex paint for patch-paint purposes. I went to a P&L retailer who diligently attempted to match the color and the "flat"/non-sheen appearance without success. I just happened to come across Mallory. Bruce assisted me. With only a sample the size of a quarter coin, Mallory reproduced the color and flat appearance PERFECTLY ! The Benjamin Moore paint from Mallory is an absolute 100% perfect match. My patch paint is indistinguishable from the years old P&L paint job. Mallory knows what they are doing!

Bad mixing and matching ability, waste of time and money. They don't stand by their work and you end up paying for their mistakes.

They do not stand by their paint. They mixed us paint that was 10 shades lighter and when we told them it didn't match, they said it was because our old paint was faded. We pulled out our old paint from last year, painted over the spot with that and it was a perfect match. Once we let them know that and showed them pictures, they would not take the almost full products back. I will not deal with a business that does not value customers. Maybe they have too many to care? I will buy my Benjamin Moore paint from Ace Hardware from now on and I suggest you do as well.

As another reviewer mentioned, do NOT go on the weekend when it's staffed by kids who really don't know what they're talking about. During the weekday, I was given really great advice over the phone about buying a pint of Benjamin Moore paint sample by a gentleman so decided to go there. But I made the mistake of going in this Sunday and the girl behind the counter told us that a quart was the only sample size available. I stupidly didn't ask the price which turned out to be $40. I literally needed to touch up 4 dots behind a bannister.I checked online and just verified with Benjamin Moore that a sample pint online is $13.99 or I could have walked into Home Depot/Lowe's. I hate bait and switch so I sent in a complaint to Mallory Paint HQ. This is the priceless response from Sara R: "In our industry the quart size containers are the standard used for touch-up paint due to inconsistencies with sample pints." What???!!! How ridiculous and dishonest is that? Never again. Save yourself the hassle and just go elsewhere unless you're a contractor who knows BS when they hear it.

If you're not familiar with paint, Ben Moore has what many consider to be the highest quality stuff. It covers really evenly, has low odor, and even though the price per can is usually higher than the hardware store 'house brands', it requires fewer coats to look great. I've found that even when changing colors drastically, I can almost always get away with no primer. This location is small and a bit crowded, and wait times can be up to 20-40 minutes. The helpfulness and attitude of the staff varies tremendously from one person to the next. Some are masterful with years of experience and some know less than you do.You'll see a lot of pros here, especially in the first hour of the morning. They know this is the good stuff. So here's your pro tip. Arrive during a weekday, mid-day if you need assistance. Order your paint to be made up and come back later to pick it up ---maybe just go get a coffee or lunch, or return the next day, if you don't want to stand there and wait.

This place is great! They really know their paint, and keep your custom colors on file for you. This is a far cry from my youth in San Francisco, where I would just swing by the Sears on Masonic and buy a can of $5 mis-tinted latex for the dingy walls of my unheated Victorian squat. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff.
