I love this place! I always get nigiri sushi or sashimi combined with something else like a bento or katsudon. It seems like they copy and pasted this store directly from Japan, it's legit. The best time to get there is early while everything is stocked, OR at the end of the day when they start marking down the prices on everything they made that day. They only make so much of everything, and it runs out pretty fast most days. Many places have raised their sushi prices quite a bit over the last few years, but Maruta's still has the cheapest and some of the best quality sushi/sashimi around. The nigiri sushi has big cuts of fish almost enough to cover the rice that's under it.I highly recommend this place and wish I could find a place like this in the Tacoma or Puyallup area.

Great quality fish for even better prices. The salmon poke don is filling and delicious and only $10. Additionally, the rolls are excellent and also a good value. All the employees are polite and friendly. There’s also a good selection of Japanese grocery products, but the prepared foods are the reason I make a weekly visit.

love this place. usually go for their sushi rolls that they make every day. Had sashimi, Washington roll and California roll. Still the best place for price and quality. they have a hot food station and all their plate lunch are under $10. You can choose from having a 1entree choice to 2 or 3. Again under $10. Very busy during lunch rush. Small parking lot in front of the main entrance, but there are some in the back of tbe building that not a lot of ppl know about. If you go near closing and if it's available, they usually have their leftover sushi rolls at half off because they want to get rid of them.

Japanese grocery store that has a Chinese hot lunch with maybe 6-8 entree options and your choice of fried rice or noodles. There are also hot Japanese fried items in the warmer like tempura shrimp, chicken wings, karaage and more. There are also warm dumplings, spam musubi and donburi bowls. The refrigerator case has lots of sashimi, nigiri and rolls. Prices are very low so lots of folks stream in at lunch to grab and go. There are lots more items for an inexpensive lunch so come and check it out yourself. Oh, they also carry great pantry items from Japan like my favorite furikake and ramen. Did I mention the very reasonable prices?

The place to go for those ingredients you can’t find anywhere close by. Miso paste…mochi…better sushi than metro market or Safeway. Any plenty of snacks.

I was impressed by the Japanese bento! !The salmon bento, croquettes, and boiled beans all have a warm, nostalgic taste. I'm so grateful to have a store where I can buy side dishes! I look forward to working with you!

WARNING! This place used to be good but the portion has decreased significantly. Got a one item bowl and it only came with three chicken nuggets? Can management explain to me what’s a standard serving size here?

Unassuming but amazing spot to pick up Japanese deli items. I live pretty far from Georgetown, but pro-tip if you are nearby from Costco - I would highly recommend checking out this place. First, the sashimi, sushi, and bento items are already super reasonably priced. But second, if you come towards the end of the day (I did Monday close to 5 PM) they discount it (mine was 50% off). That is just an absolute steal for Seattle prices. The food itself is high quality for the price. The bento items lean a little sweet, but it satisfies that craving for a very quick grab and go meal. There's a parking lot with a decent number of spaces (~ 10? maybe more?). They have a pretty extensive rice cracker selection, if that's your thing. And some yummy looking refrigerated mochi, pan, and other pre-packaged snack and dessert items. And a couple of your standard Asian staples, like tofu, dried ingredients, etc that you'd expect from a small Japanese grocer. I didn't have time to do a thorough browse of the store, but I'll definitely be back.
