John helped me fix my flat super fast and even gave me an educational overview of the mechanisms of my new hydraulic disc breaks. Thanks!

Impressed with the folks here and the new shop. I ran into some trouble mid-project, and brought my bike in to have them finish the job, which they did speedily, along with some extra assistance along the way. Always fun when the shop takes a real interest in my bike. Glad to have these guys so close to home - will be back.

Great People, Great Shop, Great Mechanics!I look my cargo bike in for it's yearly checkup. I could do all the work myself, but I appreciate the people and the effort they put into my bike.Got my bike back and damn, it's riding better than ever! A full service of the brakes, brake pads, and drivetrain made such a difference! They even took the time to straighten out my derailleur hanger which has made shifting ?perfect. Bike is silent now!I've read a few negative reviews here, and all of the followups as well from the shop. Seems like a lot of people want to get something for free from the shop. It's really nice to see owners care so much about their work and business, and follow up on all reviews to make sure every customer is happy!

tldr - not a trustworthy repair shop. May break your bike further. See other reviews with similar issues. Bike shop even insinuated that I lied about the faulty repair even though the mechanic himself admitted fault when I picked it up.Long story - Had a flat tire on my electric bike. They fixed the flat tire but broke the built in lock. They told me that I’d have to go directly to the manufacturer to get my lock fixed since they didn’t know how to fix it. The guy who fixed my bike also said he’d talk to the manager to give me a discount and if I called I could get a partial refund. Multiple calls and emails later I got no discount. Ended up having to get my bike repaired again by the manufacturer. I only went to Mello Fellos because the manufacturer repairs were booked out for a couple of months. So in short, they failed to fix what should’ve been a simple tire change, refused to give me a discount they offered, and ended up costing me more money and time than just waiting for an appointment with the manufacturer.Absolutely would not recommend this placeAdding an edit so I can respond to Andy’s comment: me requesting a fully reimbursable discount from my employer to fix my bike at VanMoof should not even be a factor here. I paid 75 dollars to get my tire changed at Mello Fellows (not reimbursed). I paid this premium since my bike is my main mode of transportation and I need it to commute to work. Your repairman broke my bike lock, admitted to breaking it right after the repair, explicitly said he could not fix it, and then said he would talk to the manager to get me a discount even though I was required to pay in full to retrieve my bike. I called multiple times literally within days after my repair and wasn’t able to get a hold of anyone. You’re insinuating that I’m lying about my bike lock being broken right after the repair, which is honestly pathetic. There’s no reason for me to blame Mello Fellos if my lock broke weeks later. The bike lock was broken right as your repairman gave me my bike and he acknowledged it was an issue on his side. Life got busy, and I only got around to emailing around a month later (after multiple phone calls). Absolutely ridiculous that I’m being called out for a delayed email when all fault was on your bike shop and you guys should’ve been reaching out to ME to help remediate the situation. Also your responses sometimes took weeks, so not sure why you’re blaming me for my delayed email. Also so strange that your repairman happened to leave right after he broke my bike??

Took my bike in to get the breaks tightened, they said the pads were close to done so I agreed to also get some new pads installed. When I came back to pick it up, all said and done I was charged $88.20If I'd taken it to my bike guy or to REI, installation would have been free, now I understand this is a small business in an expensive part of town but swapping out break pads (which I have to do often riding everyday down steep Seattlehills) usually comes out to $20-$30, maybe $40-$50 at the places which really charge for labor.Since I was in a pinch I would have been fine paying towards the higher end of what I've paid in the past, but almost $100 to swap out break pads is just highway robbery. If you're gonna charge so much ridiculously more than anyone else for a basic task like a break swap then you have to make sure to explicitly tell the customer what the prices will be BEFORE they agree to let you work on their bike.

Took my bike here for a tune up, after checking in at the store about a few issues I'd found. I was told the tune up would fix everything but instead none of the issues were fixed, and I had to take it back 3 times. Frustrating to say the least. The bike was not cleaned at all, either. Waste of a tune up. My bike chain was also replaced without confirmation (despite asking for confirmation before any replacements) and the chain now starts falling off the gears when I ride. I had to go to another mechanic to have it fixed.2 stars instead of 1 because the staff were polite and willing to try again to fix the issues (that should have been fixed one time around). Anyway, that's 160$ down the drain.

Took a $20 Uber after specifically calling to see if they worked on electric scooters. The idiot that answered excitedly said yes. I showed up and what do you know the idiots don't provide the service they said they did on the phone!

I've had such a great experience each time I've used Mellow Fellows for tune-ups and repairs. Their parts are high quality and reasonably priced, as are their tune-ups and other services. Carlos is knowledgeable, experienced, and was very helpful when I wasn't certain about the specific repairs I needed. I'll definitely be using Mellow Fellows again in the future!
