The food was great, and they were quite busy on St Patrick's Day. A young woman seated us, and promptly brought us waters. I requested coffee, and our male waiter brought half a cup informing me that more was brewing. After some time, he brought a full cup for my husband, who decided not to partake. I told the waiter that only I was having coffee, so he just left the full cup for me. Bottomless coffee for $5.00, rounded up. When he presented the bill, he charged us for two bottomless coffees, and when I questioned it, he said that we ordered two cups. I reminded him that my husband did not have coffee. Apparently, this stressed out waiter whom I observed being rude to others, forgot what had transpired earlier, and he proceeded to argue with me at length, his customer. I actually gave up and said we'd just pay for it when he concluded that he'd take one cup off of the bill. He was quite rude in his handling of this matter. I mean, $5 is $5.

A nice diner experience. I went for dinner and didn’t experience the bar side of things, but what I got was great.I had a chicken fried steak that was filling and comforting as you’d hope for. The staff was all very nice and I got my food quick. I was there during a slow time but you could tell they were prepared in case things got busy. Feels like a great place for comfort/diner food.

Came up from Vancouver to watch Vegas beat the Kraken, go Knights!! Anyway, we stayed at The Maxwell Hotel and asked the lady working at the front desk for a good breakfast place. She recommended the Mecca Cafe. It was a short walk from the hotel and well worth it. We were seated right away. The host brought out water, answered any questions we had, and took our order promptly. The food was amazing. The chicken fried steak meal was delicious. Other food ordered was a short stack of large fluffy pancakes with bacon and eggs, plus a breakfast sandwich on an english muffin. The atmosphere was really great, along with the music. Such a delightful place, we will absolutely return.

I will start off with amazing music! I ate a late night meal after the Vegas Kraken game, Go Vegas! Then, I came back the next morning for breakfast. The French dip was so good, chicken strips were great and our chicken fried steak was amazing. I will definitely come back again!

This is a sister location to the 5 Point. If you liked that place you'll love this one too. More historical background to find on the walls here. Drop in before 2am, as it's not 24

No fuss Classic dinner with chill vibes. Good music, pretty good and usually lower food prices to what other places are offering. Don’t expect a warm host, expect a classic dinner for quick eats. 10/10 will come

I placed an order via Grub Hub for pickup and never received notice that the restaurant was not fulfilling pickup orders. When I arrived the guy who was working the restaurant part of the restaurant told me they are not taking pickup orders. I told him that I am currently in treatment for cancer, showing him my head as proof, and that I cannot be in public places for a long period of time (without a mask) due to illness exposure. He showed zero empathy and said “it ain’t happening,” after I asked for a manager they were too crowded. What I didn’t understand is that me placing a pickup order is just the same as an in restaurant order. The cost of the food is the same. I was completely brushed off. I frequent that restaurant a lot and I have always been treated with respect. I usually don’t waste my time writing complaints but this was distressing. I was so upset, I stood in front of the restaurant emailing the owner. I understand being busy, but one part of the business shouldn’t suffer due to that. Never will I ever spend my hard earned money at the establishment again. I encourage others not to as well. People deserve more respect and consideration than what I was given.

Decided to try Mecca after a previous poor experience at their sister cafe at 5 Points (20 minutes of being completely ignored after being sat, walked out). Waited 15 minutes outside for a table. Got sat in a booth, waited probably 20 minutes before the waitress hollered from across the counter if we wanted anything besides water. We declined. At this point the menus were down and we were obviously ready to get on with it. After another 5+ minutes of further ignoring, even after making heavy eye contact with the same waitress, another group who were sat well after us got the nod for service. Needless to say we didn't stay. Yes they were somewhat busy, yes it was the end of breakfast rush hour, and yes they were probably short-staffed, but IDK... management really needs to figure something out because that's twice now for us.

Ordered French Dip, it is very dry and tough, tatter tots that are overdone, poutine that is just fries with a chunk of cheese. So not worth spending any money on it and extremely overpriced for old cafeteria food.

Went there for breakfast, the waitress wasn't very nice or care to help. We sat for 20 mins and had to ask for some coffee. The bust guy said he could help and tried to, but the waitress started talking and complaining if we were going to die with no coffee. Her attitude wasn't acceptable. I was telling my party that I wasn't going to stand sitting there for long time not offer coffee or being acknowledged despite the space having only a handful of customers. When she brought the coffee, her attitude was even worse, l asked her name and she said Madonna... while could've been her real name the at she said it it was like she's mad at life itself. We left... it wasn't going to work, she has issues that has to work on her own time and not bring them to work. Once we left after a few minute another employee..? Came at the door and yelled at us... I almost went back to yell at them, but decided not, maybe they're not used to deal with decent customers? Avoid the place at all costs!!!

I love their Monte Cristo, and my husband says they have the best burger in the city!
