They are attempting to silence me after wrongfully terminating me. As soon as I know I can safely speak out about all the alarming things I would like to know as a shopper about a place i visit I will be posting all the info I have here and in every other place I can leave a review. As many times my reviews get deleted I will post them again and again. Stay tuned, there’s nastiness on many different levels here.

The Met Market is super expensive so don't come here to do major grocery shopping unless you're Jeff Bezos or just don't care about how much money you spend. But it is a nice supermarket to shop in when you want to treat yourself or just need a few things. For example, my hubs and I went on a recent trip to buy Silk soy milk (it's actually a good price here), some freshly made sushi, the 3-piece fried chicken meal with two sides (such a good deal!!), and one of their special cookies (classic). We enjoyed our takeout dinner a lot. Keep the sushi counter, hot deli, and bakery stocked up and we will be back, Met Market!

If you're Black, then stay away from the Crown Hill location at 8532 15TH AVE NW in the Ballard neighborhood because the hostile clerks pretend that you're invisible and refuse to provide service. When I went inside today, three store clerks made it obvious they followed me around to see if I were shoplifting. Strike one. I went over to the fishmonger for a half pound of halibut and salmon but the guy pretended that I was invisible and acted as if he were too busy to help out a customer. Strike two. I went to self serve check out land which automatically timed out to prevent me from scanning groceries without assistance from the clerk. When the clerk arrived, she condescended and chastised me. Strike three. I demanded to speak with the store manager about my less than satisfactory store experience, that clerk told me a bald face lie and claimed he was not available. I unpacked all the groceries for my bags and immediately left the store because I refuse to accept poor treatment from people who have zero respect for Black people. A few hours later that same day, I called back and a Black lady in customer service ran interference for the store manager to handle the "Black problem". Although she twice attempted to transfer my call, she disconnected the line sending the direct message my experience didn't matter. I called again and spoke with the nonplussed store manager who acknowledged nothing about my experience and brushed aside my comments with the flat statement that he'd look at the video, as if to insinuate some type of crime had occurred. Evidently, in Ballard there's a crime called shopping while Black especially in high end stores such as Metropolitan Market.

One of the best grocery stores in Seattle and now in Crown Hill. High quality ingredients, great prepared meals, great bakery. Make sure you eat THE COOKIE.

This place is like a city, many days i havebreakfast and dinner here. The rotisserie meats are divine, especially the brisket. I like to go around the store before work and shop for household and food treasures. A beautiful store

[One 1/2-hour visit.] A full grocery store (several selections of every type of product). Many brands seemed new to me (I don't remember them from Safeway, QFC, or Fred Meyer). Features a cheese shop and a fresh sandwich shop. Heavy emphasis on "Curbside Service" (it is advertised on nearly every shelf). Feels new and bright and airy -- good lighting and wide aisles, with good signage.

Nice, quality items for sale at high prices. You can get the same items that cost too much in a variety of places in the neighborhood. To be truly innovative, a store has to figure out how to run itself without price gouging and this store isn't one of those.

I adore this MM location. It's just the right size and good enough to get all your essentials and some unique items as well—excellent selection of party or entertaining goods and charcuterie. My three favorite parts are the Poke Bar, The Cafe, and the wide open seating for a quick break from WFH duties! Their hot bar for lunch is kept fresh with eclectic choices (I have yet to try it for dinner). Their Cioppino is delicious, not as good as PCC, but close enough. The star of the show? Their vitamins/health department carries all my favorite brands, so I don't have to buy from Amazon anymore (more trustworthy directly from the market). The staff is friendly and knowledgable but for 2 male checkers (they seemed irritated and short-fused). Maybe it was an off day for them, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall, it's my new favorite! I don't smell the cat urine, and I do have sensitivities to scents. Enter from the bakery, then? I can't seem to smell it like others have mentioned. Thank you, MM staff, for staying true to your brand and keeping things bright, clean and nicely stocked.

The best grocery experience in Seattle! I could spend all day there. Always a great selection and something new in every department. Helpful friendly and hard working staff!

Beautiful store, typically organized and wonderful selection of food. Pricey but well worth the quality and enjoyment shopping, even if for late night dinner from the deli!

This review is not for the store overall. because the store overall is great! I don't live near it, but I bring my mother here each weekend because she loves it. We have started getting sandwiches from the deli case and having lunch there. Usually a great experience. Today was not. We got a sandwich, had it toasted it, then we paid for it and went to eat at one of their tables. We asked the guy at the deli counter to cut it for us. He said he would, but he did not. I tried to cut it with a plastic knife, but pretty much had to rip it in two with my hands instead. As we started eating, the sandwich was soggy (normally they're toasted and crumbly) The inside of the bread was goopy, like a thick glue and the outside was so chewy my mom was unable to even bite into her half and gave up. I took the sandwich back to the deli. The same guy was there, I showed him and said "my mom can't eat chewy bread like this and its super soggy/glue like" his response was "oh, thats too bad".. and nothing else. Thankfully another employee was there and she looked at it and said yeah, we'll make you another. The original guy grabbed another sandwich and stuck it in the toasting machine. I again asked, could you please cut it in half. He said sure. I got the new sandwich and went back to the table. The sandwich was better. More toasty, less soggy. Again he did not cut it in half and I had to rip it in two. I also asked him if they had any mayo, to which he said "I don't know. look at the condiment station" (by the way, no, there is no mayo. please add mayo) I don't know what was up, if he was not having a good day or what. But kinda turns me off from buying from the deli case again. Hopefully it was a one off bad day. :/ Otherwise we do still love this store and every other employee has been wonderful and helpful.

High Hopes, missing food, and customer service failures. I've been so longing for what seems forever, for some organization to take the old QFC/Value Village location on Crown Hill, to new heights. Enter the rumor, then confirmation, and now launch of the newest location of Metropolitan Market. An upscale grocery, owned by the Korean Retailer: Emart. But you won't find their food standard here, per se... instead their California subsidiary Good Food Holdings run things. They have had locations of their "Met Market" around Seattle for decades, so it's not a surprise that when it was announced they were building this location, high hopes flourished across my community. So after a crazy rush of people during the first few weeks of operations, things have calmed down a bit for me to come back, and see if they are living up to the high quality food that I have come to expect. Truth be told, I have always enjoyed Met Market food, when I lived on Queen Anne, it was my go-to for many things. Unfortunately, this location isn't living up to those standards yet... in fact, during the first couple week, and even now, about a month into their operations, they are still missing lots of the staples in their Hot Prep foods area, that has left me leaving the store empty handed. No Hot Breakfast options, as of a couple weeks ago, and nothing in the "chill case" either. Their Cupcake options are lacking, tell me why it's okay to only sell the same vanilla cupcake, with three frosting colors, but all basically the same flavor? Also, why $5 dollars each, for something that resembles the size of your home made, from a box style cupcake? Why not bigger, more lovely, and something that makes the cost worth an experience? For $0.50 cents more, you can go to one of top cupcake places in the country, and get a massive cupcake there...Ignoring the store has no soul, or flavor, it's gentrified washed look tells me it was all planned to look this way, the service doesn't seem to hold up either. An upscale grocery should NOT have self-checkout machines... there is no human connection, no reason to have an experience that differs from the Fred Meyer or Safeway down the street. I don't blame the staff, I blame the poor signage, lack of identity, or store designers that are looking for efficacy, over memorable food experiences. Also, being someone who lives nearby, I received a lovely mailer, with a promo card, a week or so before Grand Opening, and signed up for emails/offers. I was excited... I signed up... and nothing. I don't like receiving spam, but I was literally giving my contact information away, with permission to receive your marketing content... and nothing. I'm literally the target audience, middle to higher income, leans or has an affinity toward buzz words like "ancient" or "natural", I love yelping, and from brith to today (40+ years), I have lived in this community. Customer Service Fail here. I even emailed MetMarket to ask to be placed on their mailing list.... and nope, not even an acknowledge they received my email. Look, the store may be clean, generally well-stocked, an while higher priced than competitors, I could look past that, when it comes to food quality. My hopes were dashed, missing essentials in the hot bar, and I have yet to hear back about all the promotions I missed from my neighborhood grocery. I'll probably go back again, like today, to get a cookie for my child, but the taste of corporate feel of customer service, and lack of grocery store soul, has left me lacking.
