Ordered in lunch via Doordash. Sandwich was supposed to be hot but it was stone cold (tho it was tasty with nice bread). The fruit salad was all melon, no berries as pictured. Update: I called them and to their credit they replaced everything!! Another star earned

Went to shop and relax after long work day but was followed around the store by a horrible female security person. Do better Met Market. This was very upsetting.

We absolutely LOVE the sushi here! It’s the only thing we come for, and it never disappoints—fresh, delicious, and worth every penny. While the store has a wide variety of high-quality products, the sushi is truly the standout for us.

The store itself was fine they had an awesome selection of flowers out front like super awesome lots of different flowers I would have loved to stay and build a giant bouquet for myself to make and then separate out and give away.
Why didn't I?
Because I made a quick stop in the store to grab something to eat on my way to work. I'm on the keto diet so I have to read like all the labels on anything that I eat unless I already know how many carbs are in stuff. They had ice cream that I hadn't recognized I went in there looking for the rebel kind because I know that that doesn't have any sugar carbs and I can eat that, they didn't have the rebel kind but they did have a wide variety of other kinds and not knowing anything about these brands I was checking out the ones that looked interesting and hoping that they might be a low carb. Unfortunately their selection for low-carb ice cream stuff is pretty small It's limited to one brand and I forget what the brand is but it's one that you can find other grocery stores too I just haven't gotten it in favor of the rebel.
Let me back up a little bit, my brakes are bad on my car so I had to take an Uber to my job thing and I had a backpack with my laptop in it and my little teeny tiny purse. Well my purse was crammed in my backpack so before I went in I took my purse out of my backpack and checked my phone to verify that I would be on time if I went into the store to get something to eat. I'm not sure if me being outside for 2 seconds doing this brought attention to me or anything I'm not sure exactly why the security guy did what he did but he followed me to the frozen stuff which I thought was cute because I mean I know I'm not going to steal anything I don't think I look like a person who steals things, and with my backpack strap tightly to my back and my purse being so small I knew that it wouldn't have made sense for me to go in there and be stashing stuff to steal, without making a big huge scene of pulling my backpack off my back and it would have just been dumb, and wouldn't have made any sense. So the security guy follows me into the frozen aisle follows me up and down as I'm looking at these different things and I'm getting a little bit annoyed right now but he's like literally like between 3:00 and like 6 ft away from me and then he follows me towards the registers oh on my way to the frozen I did grab a pack of two eggs - cuz I can eat those- So he doesn't follow me all the way to the register he stays he stays a good like I don't know 10 m away or something so that he's got like displays and stuff between he and I at this point. So I ring my stuff up I paid for it and then I'm leaving the store and he follows me out and stops me and asks if I bought those things.
My thought was, "this guy cannot be f-ing serious, if he had been worth a shit at his job he would have seen that I was paying for the stuff at the register. But he had made his mind up to stop me when I left instead of verifying that it actually looks like I was stealing something cuz it didn't and I wasn't.
He seems kind of like he probably was like an incel and this might have been his way of acting the way that they do towards women. Or gave him a reason to talk to me or have an extended interaction with me besides a " hello".
But it totally offended me so I handed him my receipt and I was like yeah I bought this stuff and then I proceeded to tell him about how dumb it was for him to stop me because if he'd been doing his job like at all he would have seen that I paid for the stuff.
It might have been a racial thing too like maybe like a backwards profiling thing. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there's tons of thieves who go in there, spend a few minutes reading labels and then go thru the register and pretend to scan their two items,

I shop here soooo much. And I love this store. I shopped tonight, and a guy before me was using self checkout and pulled his receipt out, and if you’ve used these receipt dispensers sometimes they come off if you pull too hard. This happened. Not a big deal. But the lady who was helping at self checkout, she has short gray hair. I don’t know her name. Started going off about how annoying it was, and then after the guy left, called him a ret•rd. I called the store manager and complained,
Cause I don’t want to hear people call others that while I’m shopping, or really in general. It’s just rude. Not the first time I’ve heard rude remarks from this person either. It didn’t seem to me the manager really cared. It makes me not want to shop there, idk. It just really irritates me. I needed to voice that.

I have shopped at this store regularly. I recently started going to PCC instead for better fruit prices. I decided to go back to metropolitan market because the parking lot is bigger and I have never felt so racially profiled in my life. Security following me around and lady standing next to me while I rang up my stuff. Such a turn off. I will stick with PCC their staff is much more friendly.

Don't trust the email marketing ads. They regularly advertise items and never have them when you go to the store. This week, they advertised special items for Peach-o-rama (i.e., a Macrina Peach pull-apart loaf, chili peach cooked prawns, peach-marinated pork or chicken skewers, and peach-o-rama salsa). None of these items were in the store on the first day listed in the ad.
I asked the self-checkout attendant where the Macrina Peach Pull-apart loaf was, but she couldn't be bothered to help and lazily told me to ask someone in the bakery just 10 feet away. Obviously, the Macrina loaves aren't baked in the store, so I'm not sure why she refused to help. Regardless, I wasn't going to wait in the bakery line to ask where something that didn't even exist was located in the store.
This has happened multiple times for various ads over the years. Making a special trip for something you see advertised only to find that it's not there is beyond frustrating. I previously contacted Metropolitan (David Galipeau), and he offered a "free" sandwich, but I don't want or need a free sandwich. I only want the ad to stop misleading customers and causing constant disappointment. I contacted Metropolitan again about this most recent ad and also emailed David Galipeau, but they haven't bothered to respond.
Don't trust the ads; they're like a car dealership with bait and switch, but there's not even a switch—only disappointment and so much wasted time.

I LOVE metropolitan market!
I always get amazing food from them.
And usually I get fantastic customer service.
This night as I was waiting at the deli counter a woman named Paula started yelling to a gal who was fully back of house about how she needed to send someone to the cheese department.
The woman who was working back of house calmly explained why she did not have anyone to send.
Paula started to yell again. At that point I gently touched Paula’s elbow and told her that her yelling at workers is very uncomfortable for the shoppers.
She left and then went back of house where I saw her still yelling at her worker/ coworker.
It was horrible.
