Andrea is a gem! She knows her way around thicker and curly hair, is great at complex layers and feathering as well. Amazing haircut while still being affordable, definitely will be booking with her and this studio again!

This review is specifically for Tava. Tava is a red-hot mama who cuts hair with a vast knowledge of her craft and an artist's eye for detail. She took her time, cutting little by little, observing how my hair was reacting. She kept checking in with me, and let me get my hands in my hair. And she's a lot of fun, too!

Very kind people but messed up my bangs. I had to finish up the job back at home. Wonderful job on my eyebrows though!! 4 starts because I cannot stress the genuine conversation, customer, focused environment and overall niceness of the employees.

Newer to the ballard area and got a haircut with Madison and she was great! Very nice, did a wonderful job and very friendly. Was $90 since I was a new client. She was also able to give me recommendations as well for hair products and when to get future cuts. Will definitely go back!

Alright, people get the benefit of the doubt once, not twice. Had an appointment with Madison (who I have seen before) for a Sunday earlier in November. I get a text 2 hours prior saying she’s not feeling well and can we reschedule. Sure, this stuff happens! She rescheduled for today at 9 am. I get a text at 8 talking about how the roads and the rental car are not safe with the snow. There is no snow. I have a window and a weather app showing the temperature. I know she lives close to the salon. And if she IS somewhere up in the mountains with snow, girl, you have clients who also rearrange their own schedules to pay significant money for a service. It’s not all about you. Work is in an hour. Why aren’t you there or at least halfway there already? And why are you texting and driving on the “treacherous” roads in the first place? She offered to reschedule for tomorrow (Sunday) at 9 am. Why would I believe that appointment wouldn’t get cancelled, too? Give me a break.I left a voicemail on the salon “voicemail number” as other reviewers suggest no one ever returns calls. This is pure BS. Stop wasting people’s time.

Madison is the BEST! She's the only person I will ever let touch my hair. She's been doing my blonde for years, and I happily make the 4 hour drive from Portland to Seattle for it. Her personality is easy going, and makes you feel like a friend.

My son was ecstatic about his haircut. Allison did a fantastic job and he got exactly what he wanted. He is happy so I am happy! Thank you, Allison!

As a gen z with curly hair I always struggled finding a hair stylist who seemed like a friend and a knew what they were doing. I was so scared to go to Ava at first but I showed her the photo and knew exactly what to do. She was a friend who gossiped with me and related to me but most importantly did my hair perfectly!!! I’ve seen her many times and I am so happy with my hairServices: Hairstyling

I've been coming to mint for years, but more regularly the past 2 years. I always see Allison V. now, and she does an amazing job everytime. I'm never too picky with my hair so I usually give broad directions like more layers, I want my hair to be long but feel a little lighter, and so on and Allison ALWAYS crushes it! I love the way my cut looks everytime I leave. I also love the variety of products they have for sale (and you can get a punch card for products to get a lil discount after buying x amount). The studio always feels very welcoming and bright, and the staff is always kind when you need to check in. It's nice seeing that they care about the health of their staff and clients by wearing masks. the staff is also always willing to answer my questions about what the best product would be for my hair so I always feel confident leaving with something that I know I will use. Some other reviewers have complained about the how stylists can be scheduled out but when you do such a great job they obviously book quickly and Allison ALWAYS lets me book my next appointment when I check out, so I'd wait for a good stylist that you like and then don't wait to book your next appointment. And honestly this seems to be the way it is at any salon you go to so set your expectations accordingly! I highly recommend getting your name on a wait list (shout out to Allison V) and get your hair styled here!Service: Haircut

Lauren and the stylists at MINT are absolutely fantastic, as a man (47, single, dad-bod extraordinaire) I wanted to take a moment to share for other men out there as well that might be looking for a great cut experience too. I go out of my way to come to MINT literally, and for good reason. I without fail continue to get a great cut at a great value. The consistency of service and quality is on point every time. Lauren is attentive, creative, and always has wonderful energy. She respects my (our time really) and always is very timely w/ our appointments. The studio is always clean, well appointed, and a pleasantly relaxing space with amazing large skylights and always smells great too. Lauren is an incredible small business owner and I really respect the effort that she puts in for all of her clients and staff equally. Men, if you want an A+ haircut at a fair price and a wonderfully comfortable cut experience then look no further. 10 out of 10.

Victim of their own success: hardly any availability and therefore no investment in customer service. They don't return calls, like, ever. Put it this way: this boutique is not for casual dudes looking to get their haircut. This is a loosely connected group of independent contractors building personal relationships with mostly local women looking for high quality, complex salon services. If you're like me, and hair is not something you really give a s*** about (but you also don't want a Pee Wee Herman haircut), then your best bet is to go down the street to Steele Barber. The cut might not be a 10/10, but at least Steele has a dedicated front desk function, doesn't book appointments six months out, and is -- for better or worse -- geared towards guys. Why the hair industry is so gendered, especially in Seattle, is beyond me. In a perfect world we'd have the skill of Mint Hair Studio and the customer service of Steele. But be practical, gents, and go Steele.

The worst haircut experience ever. My "stylist" was Madison. I had a really bad week and was looking for some pampering time. This was also my FIRST haircut at a salon since the PANDEMIC so it was a huge deal to me. I walked out of there feeling worse than how I felt walking in. It was such an impersonal and cold experience. Madison was unfriendly right off the bat. She made no effort to converse and this was my first time at this salon. She spent 30 seconds on a "consultation" even though I had been forced to add 20 minutes of extra paid time to my one hour for "new client" consultation time. She took 40 minutes to cut my hair. Barely said anything to me the entire time. I "had" hair below the end of my back, so it was super long and not much you can do to mess it up because there's so much to work with. She cut it shorter than I wanted. I asked for long layers and face framing angles. She cut everything the about the same length as my shortest "face framing" angle and essentially it all looks one length with no style, just shorter. I even went there after shampooing my hair on my own, while still wet. She opted to dry it before cutting it. Did not apply any product or use any thermal spray. I had to ask her to lower the intense heat. After she finished cutting my hair, no effort to style, since she had already "styled" it before cutting it. She sprayed on some oil and walked away. I went to pay and she had the audacity to tell me to book extra care time next time, as if she needed the extra time!!! She didn't even use the 1 hour and 20 minutes I paid for. I rarely leave reviews but I had to. I feel awful. And it's not because of how she messed up my hair. It's her cold personality. Haircut to me is supposed to be a friendly, intimate experience with your stylist, where you discuss your hair history, hair goals, hair maintenance advice, etc. That did not happen here. I would have been better off at a Supercuts. I have lived in NYC and Chicago and I've always had super high end, celebrity stylists and I am used to a certain level of quality, care and experience. I recently moved to Seattle and needed to get established with a hair stylist. But Madison wouldn't know that because she never bothered to even speak with me. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a bad day....

I’ve been to this salon a handful of times. I’ve seen Lauren, the owner, and today I saw Andrea on a whim bc my stylist at another place cancelled last minute. Lauren is really talented, she knows how to give your hair a great overall shape and achieve that “expensive look”. Today, Andrea made me feel really at ease, as I’m pretty particular about my hair and can be indecisive too. What I loved most about her service was how she checked in with me about what I wanted throughout the appointment, and not just in the beginning. She also gave great advice and enlightened me about hair care and haircut styles. She’s also a very warm and genuine person! I was nervous about seeing someone new, but I love my haircut!Whoever you see here, you’ll leave happy :)

Andrea is a genius! Highly recommend! Great with color - whether it's funky or not. Also a wiz with the scissors! Trying to grow my hair out and it can get quite bulky and oddly shaped. Andrea cuts in all the right places to ensure there's still length and style. Fantastic place!Services: Hair coloring
