Very kind people the idea of emulating a store quells the feeling of percussion. The name is very misleading as a market inherently requires a monetary or physical trade.

This is a great food bank. I’ve gone on 2 Mondays. They gave me lots of vegetables; cabbage, carrots, onions. I also got tuna, Gatorade, Girl Scout cookies, soup, rice and other yummie stuff. No need to register anyone can go. Just line up and you can grab what items you need. Thank you ?

Not your typical Food bank. Functions as a community grocery store. Clients are able to walk in and pick the produce and food what they want to take home...at no cost. Many volunteer groups are organized to help. During the holidays turkeys and roast beef are often handed out along with fresh produce.During Covid they had service windows but things are back to normal.

These losers can't even keep their electricity on. No communication as to what's going on. Disgustingly unprofessional. Pathetic, even.Imagine how many dollars are being wasted supporting this dumpster organization as opposed to an actual competent food bank.

Food is available for those in need, no questions asked. Most times, they have a variety of staples, both dry (rice, beans), canned, and fresh. Some fresh vegetables are also available. They also have pre-made meals by the large coffee company that we all know.Allow yourself some extra time as there could be many people in line, but it goes fast. The staff is super friendly and approachable for the most part.Today (Sept 1st), one volunteer was making loud comments regarding a certain POC who struggled with English. That's not cool. They also seemed more interested in telling "war stories" and chatting than helping other volunteers. There's a first time for everything.

Great place. It's mainly vegetables and fruit along with some canned goods. But the produce is good and the people are great. It's clean and overall a great place

Beware of rude, entitled old white lady! I went to the food pantry 10 minutes to closing and it was sparsely populated. There was a huge bin of oranges. I took 3, and some tall, old, white lady grabbed me, and yelled, “TWO ONLY!” I looked at the sign: “suggested quantity 2”. I said, “it says suggested”. She yanked my grocery bag, reached in, and took an orange away. Absolutely rude and entitled behaviour. Heaven forbid I take 1 extra orange above the SUGGESTED quantity from a huge bin right before they close.

I have been visiting here sporadically since July. My visit on 8/19/22 is the first time I have seen it open. You can actually go inside and shop. Very cool concept! The fact you dont need ID is great too. I live in West Seattle but am not able to visit many local food banks because my mail and the address on my ID is a friend's in Federal Way. This often left me hungry before I discovered the SODO community market.
