This place is a gem tucked away in Seattle's Pike Market. The owner, Osara, makes all of the art you see in the store. She has a unique and funny twist on most of her work, and my family and I were happy to support her by buying one of her prints and original drawings. Besides this, she has plenty one of a kind gifts from Japan, from books to small trinkets. I'm still amazed how she's able to source all of these items for us to enjoy. Give the store a visit, you definitely won't regret it!

A friend and I came across this cute shop while wondering around the market. At first, I was attracted to the amazingly decorated shop front and was immediately pulled into its cozy atmosphere.
Everything between the handmade notes, to the adorable dishes and comforting shelves was absolutely lovely.
This is a must go to shop if you're looking for cute original artwork depicting squishable cats (despite it's cuteness, please don't actually squish the artwork!!!), an amazing array of dishes to compliment your home, a sturdy pair of wooden or plastic chopsticks (you can also purchase a rest for them!), or a stylish tote bag for you and all your wares to enjoy, especially if you decide to come back!
The only thing I recommend for the customer to do is to mindful of their bags when browsing. There is a wide table of small dishes to walk around to reach the back half of the store. Otherwise, enjoy your time there! The lovely madam working at the register is very kind and understanding.
And of course, what review is this if I didn't say what I bought? I walked out with a stunning pair of wooden chopsticks with cherry blossoms decorating handle.
TL;DR: Cute shop tucked away at the Pike Place Market selling Japanese wares such as chopsticks and chopstick rests, small dishes, handmade artwork about cats, and tote bags.
Honorable mention NOT included in the review: The best sandwich/soup containers I have ever seen (Kiki's Delivery Service, Totoro, etc.)
Please have fun and be safe during your travels!

the items are cute however the old guy (owner or co-owner) is rude and confrontational. He yelled at me for picking up a hat when the shop was otherwise completely empty. You don’t have to roll out the red carpet for folks, but why would I spend my money in a shop where I feel unwelcome? If people keep missing the “don’t touch the hats” sign, maybe it’s cause you have too many signs up. Just a thought.

I am so thankful to the woman who runs this shop. I left my wallet on the checkout counter after buying some goodies there on my last day in Seattle and she held onto it for me until I was able to pick it up. Super respectful and kind. Osara was easily my favorite spot in Pike, I got some really cute little items for gifts so I’m looking forward to shopping there again on my next visit! Thank you!!!

Love visiting this shop when I’m in Seattle. Can’t stand the cashier. As the daughter of a Japanese-Wife-Guy, I implore him to be less annoying about it. Shikata ga nai.

A MUST go if you’re in the area and are even slightly interested in Japanese culture, knickknacks, accessories, and more! Every time I’ve visited, the lady running the shop has been so sweet, attentive, and has offered to help with anything I needed. The store itself is GREAT, but she is truly its lifeblood. I always buy a new beanie from their wide selection of designs and colors. Every item is priced very well, you’re guaranteed to find something worth buying. Please please please do yourself a favor and check OsaraCom out!

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! I usually love things from Japan and made the mistake of searching for this store. The shop keeper is so unkind. There are lots of other places worth checking out instead!

Cute little store. They have lots of random stuff. There are Nick nacks from Japan, old vinyls of Japanese and American music, cute apparels by the owner, post cards, etc. Just give it looksy. The prices are reasonable also.
