Horrendous customer service experience with a bespectacled white middle-aged male employee, effectively terminating my relationship with this location on my end.I do my grocery shopping here 3-4 times a week, $20 to $50 cash each trip. As any young male throughout their twenties is acutely aware of, moreover anyone fitting the toxic stereotypes of our day e.g. black males, young people in hoodies, throngs of black Americans in shopping centers, and so on, you become unqualified targets for any kind of shoddily trained security and/or management staff upon entering a large grocery/retail store. Despite the rain in Seattle, I usually feel compelled to undo my rain jacket/hoodies. It’s usually a good idea to leave any kind of backpacks/grocery bags at the store front else risk a barrage of false accusations and harassment. This isn’t mere paranoia or exaggeration; things like this have happened to me before. The night before I had explicitly asked the staff what time the soup/hot bar would be prepared for the following morning. I was told 6am. This turned out to be untrue and was left by myself this morning meandering, waiting, until the soup was ready. There is a sign on the restroom door proclaiming unpaid groceries have to be left in the hallway. Upon returning from the restroom, my shopping basket of sundries was confiscated. Obviously at this point I was being monitored. After asking around and getting my basket back from behind the counter I served myself soup at the hot bar. My cup was overbrimming, spilling at the side, causing a minor spill which I promptly cleaned up. At this point my stalker introduced himself via painfully condescending manners and thinly veiled contempt. After feigning goodwill and insisting on intercepting my actions— which were sufficient enough on its own to adequately clean up a minor spill and finish minor shopping, but I acquiesced—he began aggressively following me and harassing my every step. All this transpired over about 10 minutes. Consistent with an insufferable condescending attitude he instigated a pretext that I had been shopping “too long” and needed to check out immediately with a clerk.Big mistake. Whoever my cashier was neglected to double bag the heavier glass bottled items. Not far from the store my bag collapsed from the weight, glass drinks shattering on the pavement and spoiling some of my foodNot only was I disrespected and harassed for no valid reason, but whenever I use manual check-out it is incompetent more often than not. Earlier in the week I was short changed on cash back by a few dollars. I was also double charged for a single drink. While I had already forgiven and overlooked even asking for a refund for the aforementioned, I won’t be returning to this location after what happened to me this morning.

Nice, sterile environment. Hypnotically caucasian. Avocados are strikingly overpriced and at the same time, easy to steal. Another one of god's little tests.

Love my neighborhood PCC. Awesome selection and there’s often something new to discover. Don’t miss the cooking classes either. I’ve taken several and each one has been a rewarding experience. As far as improvements, the pizza isn’t as good as the Bellevue location and I wish they would re-open the entrance by the coffee bar. But until then, pretty happy to do all my grocery shopping here.

Finally, a PCC with decent parking and on a set of major bus routes! Not super crowded on Friday at 7pm, but plenty of selection and dining to go options!Always quality fruit selections!

$9.99 container of "chicken and rice soup" (not the soup bar) from their ready-made section was basically just broth with a few carrot pieces tossed in. Only a few grains of rice. Zero chicken pieces. If I had wanted chicken broth, I would have just grabbed a container of it from the soup aisle. Pathetic.

Love this place! PCC is my go-to for local/organic/ethical grocery shopping. Way better than both Whole Foods (sorry Bezos) and Trader Joe's in my opinion. It's not quite as affordable as mid range stores like Safeway or budget-friendly places like Grocery Outlet, but I can feel good about every penny I spend here (which is more than I can say about the above places).Especially love the local alcohol selection and refill options. No excuse now to keep buying products packaged in single-use plastic!

Something I love about this store is that it’s a natural hangout spot on a sunny day and/or during the Farmers Market. People chatting outside the doors and at the outdoor seating brings a lively and vibrant feeling! This PCC has so much character and community involved with it.Love it!

If you’re trying to make a cheese plate, go to Alan and get whatever he tells you to get. Absolutely incredible service providing new, exciting choices for us based on more familiar cheeses we like. Weekly stops to the cheese counter for his recs are now a must for us.

How interesting. I left a review here that was not very positive but it was based on my experience. I see now that my review has "disappeared" but the rating was left. Someone doesn't appreciate negative comments, apparently. Censorship isn't a great idea for this platform.

Wildly overpriced with a lot of poor leadership that shows in how employees don't speak to customers unless spoken to in nearly every department. Cheese ignores you, Produce talks amongst themselves, and honestly the only people who acknowledge you in the store are in Meat (a totally different vibe) or if you go to the register and the cashier decides to say hello instead of continuing to talk to a coworker or a friend who they've already checked out. All of the prepackaged meat is in non-recyclable containers even though other co-ops out there offer compostable trays, none of the chicken is pasture-raised ("free range" is a meaningless term as these birds are still raised in crowded barns, y'all, not outdoors). The cases are stacked mile-high with non-recyclable clamshell-packaged products, and to continue their greenwashing, PCC refuses to update their registers so you don't have to take a receipt, then outright lie and claim their receipts are recyclable (sorry folks, the kind of slippery paper used for receipts is NOT recyclable - this is my line of expertise and this kind of greenwashing is utterly tacky...particularly when they could just give customers the option to not take a receipt), and we have stopped shopping in bulk there because apparently they also enjoy lying to the public about 'food safety laws' being the reason why you can no longer bring your own containers in for the majority of bulk even though literally every other co-op and natural grocer in the tri-county area has stations where you can tare your own jars. The 'security' that now roams the aisles are more often seen playing on their phones than doing whatever they think they are doing, and while they have enough money to afford that they still defend having prices that are *considerably* higher than Central Co-op's (who is also union but with a way more peaceful vibe), and when there's a problem at self-checkout (where cash is refused so you have to go stand in the longer lines if you dare pay with actual money) the one person you flag down is more often than not either clueless or so unempowered to make things better that it's just seriously a waste of time and overall disrespect of the customer. We now make the longer drive over to Central because there we are treated with respect, the company walks the talk, and one doesn't hear about a CEO who makes half a million bucks and a board of directors coming from union-busting companies like REI doing everything in their power to act like they just can't afford to do the right thing for their staff or their customers. A company that was once great is now no better than New Seasons or Whole Amazon. Ew.

Everyone in this store is super nice besides the wine lady . Think her names Judy. Can’t ever get any help from her. And once she does help you, it’s all sarcasm and bad vibes on her end. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

PCC is known for it quality. Typically touted as a natural foods market it lives up to its reputation. Most items are produced with little or no preservatives or dyes. Very healthy choices in the isles. Although on the speedy side, it’s worth it for the piece of mind when consuming their products.

I recently moved to the Columbia City neighborhood, and it's been awesome having this store just a block away from my place. Even if I'm not big on being all health-conscious, they've got such a wide range of stuff to choose from. I gotta give a shoutout to their Alki bakery lemon bars, they're seriously addictive. And let me tell you, their wood-fired pizza is hands down the best store-bought pizza I've ever had. One thing that's really made a difference for me is that as a blind customer, I sometimes need a little help while shopping. The folks at PCC have always been super cool about lending a hand. It's just so great to have such an awesome business right nearby.
