I went into the store to buy female bettas as I have a sorority tank, and I was looking to add a few girls. The person that rang me up had all these questions for me like are they going into different tanks, how big are the tanks, and it kind of felt like a little interrogation. I said I have a 60-gallon planted sorority tank. The person looked at me and said I am sure they will be fine. I replied yeah they will since it all girls. I also said I like to rescue the females' bettas because customers like the males better and the females get overlooked. The employees' response was oh I think they sell about the same as males. Mind you, 90% of the bettas they had to choose from were males, so the math ain't mathing. I won't be coming into this store again, and if employees are gonna quiz customers on fish, they should at least know their stuff.

Pet lovers!
I've been going here for 20 years now. Staff is always friendly, the store is stocked well, dog grooming is well staffed and always busy. Everything is always clean.

Nobody helps you.I just stood and waited for 30 mins than a guy comes by but he just rushed past me telling me to wait.after 45 min I just left the store.
There was 2 people in the front desk laughing away and not bothering to see if somone needed help.

There is something so corporate about shopping here. The employees are meh about working there. There are so many options for pets for sale at a reasonable price. I just wish Petco could be more innovative so working at a pet store was more engaging. Once upon a time there was free shots for a day, but where is that listed. Would it kill them to have a community day where they have a give away? Maybe even have trick or treating for the pets? Also maybe have a sample tasting so people could bring in their pets. Having cats and dogs around makes most people happier.

Grooming, in shoreline. My dog had a grooming appt on Sat. Was called a few days in advance to let me know groomer will be out sick. So I made another appt for Sun. Got there and they told me all groomers were out sick. And sorry they said they called everyone! I called the mgr all he had to say was sorry... Are they sorry I wasted an hour of gas, $ and time?? So why did I not get a call?? I even got a reminder text sun. Morning reminding me about my appt!! I double checked my phone number on my acct is was correct, I had zero missed calls.... I told the mgr, that sorry isn't good enough and hung up. Ridiculous! I understand being sick, but I don't understand not doing your job and totally wasting my time! I will never shop there again!

Even if you are a Petco member, make sure you get the receipts. If you are slightly concerned about returning an item I used this store often for the past couple of months and I had no issues with returning items until yesterday when I purchased a bigger item with my account and said I don’t need a receipt because they have it on file. Of course the next day I come to return the leash and they don’t seem to find me on file so I was not able to return the Item, I think I will go back to buying stuff online even though I used to go out of my way to shop here in person
