Predatory tactics, bad vehicle selection, spent more than I would have with a more reliable company. So many stipulations and fines. The lady working there was also not very nice. Didn't know I was renting from them because I went through orbitz.

Do not rent from here!!! I've never written a negative google review before but I want to warn people so that no one else has to deal with what I dealt with. I rented a car last May through Kayak. I rented the car for 2 days and paid the rental fee along with a $250 deposit. Naively, I didn't take pictures of the car when I got it. When I returned the car, the employee marked down "very minor scrapes" on the front right wheel. I have driven the car to Tacoma and back and didn't get in any incidents while in possession of the car. My only explanation is that the same employee skimmed over those barely visible scrapes when showing me the car to begin with, like he almost did with another scrape on the car that I had to point out to him.Looking at these reviews now, I see that another patron was charged for wheel scrapes at the exact same time of year that I was. Hmmm.... I am almost positive it was the same car and they're out taking advantage of renters to make a buck.Anyway, two months later I received a demand letter for $1,140 in replacements including over $600 for one new tire (tire damage was never even mentioned before), a new wheel and tire pressure sensor. After months of me calling my insurance, Rent a Wreck's claim partner, and my credit card, I was able to get some coverage from my Mastercard insurance, bringing the fee down to about $500. My insurance claim specialist even pointed out that there were issues with the claim evidence. I paid the $500 fee and then realized that my $250 deposit was never subtracted from the fee. I had to call Rent-A-Wreck to demand my $250 deposit back. It's so obvious that this place is a scam, that I truthfully just feel like a fool for not looking at the reviews before renting. Never go to Rent-A-Wreck unless you want to fight tooth and nail to not end up paying a total of $1400 for minor scrapes on a wheel.

Take your business elsewhere folks. This car rental place charged me $45 for dropping the rental off before they opened. Never been charged to drop a car off earlier than my drop off time! Plus the customer service rep cursed me out after I pointed out their shady fee. Worst experience ever here. Go somewhere else with your business. Place is a dump too.

A Nightmare with a Fraudulent and Deceptive Rental Car CompanyI recently had the unfortunate experience of renting a car from Rent-A-Wreck/Next Car. The original estimate was around $335.00 TOTAL and after surprise fees, we got an additional surprise bill of $418 (so a total of about $700). The first red flag appeared when we arrived at the airport and then discovered the rental location is a half a mile walk from the airport with no shuttle or transport services to get there. It became apparent the company had deliberately misled customers about being an "in airport" rental service. Once we lugged our suitcases and found the rental building and received the car, it was in terrible condition with garbage and fast food packaging shoved in the back of the seats. Not only was this unacceptable from a cleanliness standpoint, but it also raised concerns about the car's safety and reliability. Upon reporting this to the staff, they just completely ignored this information. STAY AWAY from renting from this company. From the deceitful location tactics to the filthy car and unresponsive staff, the demonstrated a lack of ethics and respect toward customers. Pay the small extra fee and go with a reputable and reliable company like Enterprise.

This is a hell of a dirty rental car company with unresponsive staff and cars that are the age of your grandpa in terrible condition with most of the damage including the glass and the inside of the car is like a junkyard, What's even more exasperating is that they also cheated you on the cost of renting a car, including deducting your deposit. You will feel extremely disgusting when you enter the office, just like a movie prison. I advise all friends to stay away from this car rental company and cherish life.

Wonderful experience working with Alex. We could not have had the vacation we did if it wasn't for Alex coming to meet us to return the car on his day off. Would definitely recommend giving them a try.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE! I've rented numerous cars in my lifetime. I've never had such a bad experience and terrible customer service in my life. The lady in that office needs to be fired. She couldn't explain why all these fees were being added to what Expedia was saying I should have been paying at the counter. At one point, she looked as if she was going to throw my license and card as she said "I don't care" - you can rent a car some where else! The gentleman at office was super nice but the lady was a real B*TCH! Completely rude and unprofessional! The car was what I expected and purchased, however I had 1/8 a tank of gas! I had to immediately get gas. You should at least get half a tank in car when you rent it. Most times it's almost full! Location is not at airport and a pain in the neck to get to if you have luggage.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RENT HERE!They are a 10 min walk from airport or an Uber ride not at the airport: total hassleWhen I returned the car 1.5 hours late (I called and the woman said make it there before 6 so you won’t be charged extra)She charged me 2 extra hours. Then she wasn’t able to locate the original miles and wrote it down on my contract with a pen and when I showed her the pic of odometer she said no that’s not correct and charged me 500 extra miles.I rent cars every week for work. First time here and the last. I drive the same miles days and routes. I’ve never paid this much for a rental car for 2 daysThe added charges cost me the same as the rental for 2 days. Totaling almost $500When I asked to see the paperwork she said no and asked that I leave and she would call the cops. This is FRAUD.I filed a report wit police and on BBB.Beware people!

I ended up canceling my reservation after I arrived here and was informed the car class I reserved was not available and they were offering a downgrade with a 10% discount of the car rental fees only. $35 off for a Toyota Camry after I had already paid for an SUV. I asked the daily rental rate of the Camry, and the discount was nowhere near going to get it down to that price level. I called Priceline, who I made the reservation through and was informed that in this situation, the car rental company was actually supposed to upgrade my car class. But they claimed to have no vehicles besides the Camry. Then I got surprised with a “we need to take a $250 deposit” that I wasn’t previously informed about. Why all of a sudden do I need to pay a deposit that was never previously communicated? They had my phone number and had texted me about my reservation. Why wouldn’t that be mentioned?I ended up canceling the reservation, which luckily received back in full from Priceline. Also, the more senior agent on duty was super rude and abrasive. It was completely uncalled considering they did not honor the car rental agreement.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are dishonest to the core and only refunded money owed when they were caught in the act of stealing. Thankfully, I had all my confirmations and receipts. The number of problems are numerous, and the following does not include all of the ways they tried to steal money, but here are a few:They charged me for two new wheel rims because the black paint on the rims was scrapped by curbs. I have pictures, but my insurance company was not willing to fight them, so they took that money. Then they 'forgot' to apply the $200.00 damage deposit to the claim them made and tried to collect my deductible in full. Several calls later, they finally relented and applied that amount to their wheel rim claim.I had to follow up with them multiple times before they finally agreed to credit the 'pre-paid' amount they received from Kayak when I made the reservation. They advertise free shuttle service to and from the airport, however, upon my arrival they either didn't have a working van or a driver, so I had to Uber to their off site location. I was told to submit my receipt to a particular email address, which I did, but they never responded. I finally got their real email address from the toll free customer service line, and even then I had to make a follow-up call and argue about the refund of that amount. They also are not available to receive a rental return before 9 a.m., which was not on any of the online rental documentation. You get that information 'after' you pick-up the car. So they charged me an early return fee, even though someone was in the building and it was approximately 8:45.THEN they proceeded to charge me a $45.00 cleaning fee because they claim there was pet hair in the car. I was not traveling with a pet and I did not interact with any pets while I was out of town. I contested the charge and they said that they would not have assessed the fee unless the cleaner 'saw' pet hair. I argued they assessed the wrong vehicle or that they are lying to get more more, but their was no negotiating.BOTTOM LINE: they are inconvenient to use due to their location and hours of service; they are dishonest and lack any sense of responsibility for or appropriate communication with their clients. Use FOX when in Seattle. They have an office at the airport and they are just as inexpensive and they are open when the airport is open.

This is absolute fraud. They will steal your deposit and claim damages. I will sue them .I returned the car and the lady check it and told me I’m good and my deposit will be refunded. They called me 5 hours after told me your deposit will be in hold because the tire was damaged .. don’t rent here , it’s a fraud and read the reviews of other customers

1. When you overdue, they charge you additional hidden fees that double or triple your contractly agreed rates such as “recovery fees”.2. Always take video/photo evidence of the car’s detailed condition yourself before you go no matter how rush you are, so your are in a better position when things go wrong.

SCAMMERS!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!All these bad reviews are very true. I wished I saw these reviews before coming here. The same thing happened to me. Upon returning the car I rented for only a couple of days I was told there was a scratch at the bottom side of the car. They were looking for anything they can scam me on to get money. Now I know why they ask for your insurance declaration, so they know how much money they can SCAM you for.

Facts: this company is not for the fussy ,primpy, complaining type of person. But if you wanna save money , rent a way!The car we got was perfect clean and basically new.Pro tips:*Call the place from the airport and they’ll have someone pick you up from the main car rental at SeaTac and drive you to their store. ( their store looks bad, get over it sally)*have a copy of your insurance printed.*If you want to add an extra driver other than you it’s $100.*If you’re going to go through tolls , pre pay.*Take hardcore video of the car before you take it just in case.*don’t pre pay gas unless you’re lazy*$200 deposit was returned 2 days after car returned no probs.*don’t return the car before/after hours. After that, which was all stuff I thought reasonable and easy to manage, it was way cheaper than everyone, customer service was friendly and the car was perfect. GO RENT A WRECK!!!!

An absolute scam. Location is listed online as "NextCar" a company with decent reviews. This is not nextcar, its Rent-a-Wreck, a horrible company with horrible reviews.I showed up to pick up my reserved, pre-paid rental car and was told that they didn't have anymore cars and did not know when they would be getting more. They were unable to provide me an estimated time and said I should just wait. I did not have time to wait, so quickly got online and was able to find another car at a different rental company. I asked for my reservation to be cancelled and to be refunded the money paid, but was told that they wouldn't cancel the reservation under the circumstances. I didn't have time to fight with the 16 year old behind the counter, so left and called customer service. Two calls to customer service later and still no resolution. First I was told that the local office is independently owned so NextCar can't help me. Now I find out that this location lied to their headquarters about what happened. They said I showed up more than an hour late for my reservation (I did not and was ale to prove as much), and that was the reason they were refusing to refund me.They stole my money, failed to provide a rental car, and lied about the entire situation. Its a scam, 100%. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY OR FROM NEXTCAR - your money will just be stolen.
