Be careful you know what you’re getting. They told me a 1qt-sized sample was $11 then they upgraded me to a different quality, ~$21 price without telling me. In another transaction, I asked for a standard primer. He told me it was a tinted primer for the dark color I was using, but he didn’t tell me it was a custom tinted mixture, which makes it non-refundable. The people were very nice and professional, unlike the accounts in some previous reviews, but there was definitely a bit of bait-and-switch. Now I know what to ask for.

I’ve visited this store twice in the last week to find colors for my house. The first time I was completely ignored. The second time, some young dude answered my questions indifferently (mostly with “No” as in “No, we don’t sell quantities smaller than a quart” and “No, we don’t have any sheen but gloss in quart size” and “No, we don’t have any sample available of the differences between exterior sheens”). Imagine a nationwide chain being this unprepared for simple customer requests. I called the man who is going to paint my house and told him to buy the paint at Ace Hardware instead.

The main guy there is a complete misogynist. When I mentioned having called three Sherwin Williams and finally being directed to go to that store for the product I need, he chuckled and said “Oh I’m sorry, was it a woman you spoke to?” He then spent the whole time trying to talk down to me and being anything but helpful. He was so focused on intentionally talking to me in a little pet voice and pointing out that I had “misspoken” on a technical issue instead of just making an effort to help me get the product I need. The funny thing is I called him out on the fact that he was giving me false information. For example, he claimed that the “poly” in polyurethane means “clear” (it is actually short for “polymer”) and that I had therefore misspoken by asking for a polyurethane enamel in a certain color. I pointed out to him that there are plenty of polyurethane paints on the market that have colors. He was like “yeah I just mean in Sherwin land.” This is also false, look on the Sherwin Williams website for Polane T, a black polyurethane paint! This guy is a complete moron. He should be fired. Like all misogynists, they are idiots who don’t know what they are talking about. Frustrated, I said I just wanted them to put the color tint of the numbers and letters I gave them in a polyurethane paint on the shelf and without knowing the details of what I was doing, said it would not work for what I was doing and that paint is only used by “little old ladies” in their houses. I told him to just do it anyway. He went and mixed the paint and the other guy rung me out, not quite such an in-your-face misogynist but totally unfriendly and clearly not on board with the fact that I would dare to call out his coworker. And lo and behold, the paint I bought actually ended up working perfectly.

NO OFFENSE BUT THE STAFF INCLUDING THE MANAGERS ARE TEXTING AND IGNORING THE CUSTOMERS PERSONALITY IS A BIG FACTOR AND THEY JUST DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA ON HOW TO HELP NOR DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS. I SPOKE WITH THEM AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY HATE THEIR JOBS. I AM 100% SURE MY COMPANY NOR I WILL PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS EVER AGAIN. I TEND TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES BY SHARING MY PROFITS WITH THEM.

Sales associate at the Ballard store knows her stuff. She was able match a sample I brought in, help me identify the correct finish, and mixed a can of paint that was a pefect match for the job I was doing.

Awkward parking lot with a camped minivan and 2 large encampments at the corner of the lot. The exit was also hilly and tight to get out. People working there were friendly, but weren't able to help me find a match for Milgard's black windows, which I feel like shouldn't be too uncommon. Definitely don't feel safe enough to go back with my toddler until they clean the area up :(

Nick is extremely helpful. He has deep understanding of stains. I’ve spoken to about 10 different associates across multiple stores and no one could help me with a good match like Nick could. He explained and educated. Was also very patient. While others made me feel like a crazy lady, cause they didn’t understand stains themselves.
