New Years Eve. The time for surge pricing. Every hotel in downtown Seattle was booked or charging 4 million dollars a night, not including parking.Enter the Silver Cloud. The price was extremely reasonable. We checked in (the staff are absolutely lovely), which was easy and efficient. Our room was very clean and very quiet, I did ask for a room on the highest floor and away from the elevator, which they had no problem accommodating. The bed and pillows were so comfortable! I was going to offer right then and there to buy them. Is there a website that I may purchase these?Aveda products in the bathroom. Nice touch. It is in the U district and therefore we did have to drive downtown, we had to anyway (it was a work thing, long story), but it didn't take that long. Uber or transit would get you there in a jiffy. It being the U District on NYE, the kids were a little loud and more than a little intoxicated, but from our room, we couldn't hear much. The parking fee was reasonable and we'll definitely be back or to any of the Silver Cloud properties. I heard East Lake is pretty good as well. I'll try it out and let you know!

I admit, I'm a sucker for real coffee cups and glass glasses in the room. It's just that tiny step up, but I use them when I stay, and paper and plastic bits just aren't quite the same.

With taxes and parking, the room cost ~$50 more than the online quote. Even though I asked several questions about parking before booking the room, I was never told that parking is an additional $18 - stupid of me to assume parking is included I guess? There is free parking in the neighborhood (U Village shopping center a few blocks away) and this hotel's parking lot has a history of vandalism, so keep that in mind. The location is decent being so close to the U district, and the rooms are really nice, but the price is unreasonably steep. We thought the comp breakfast would make it feel more worth it but breakfast was a disaster. They didn't have enough staff and the servers were stressed and couldn't keep up with demand. Breakfast is from 8-10, and when we went down at 9 there was no milk, no clean bowls, spoons or cups, no syrup for the waffles. Apples were slimy to the touch and not firm. Stale bread and bagels. There was no one to wipe down the tables and no rags available for doing so; the space is fairly new and shiny but with all the people there it didn't feel clean.Great place to stay if your job is paying for it. If you're there on a weekend I would suggest planning to eat breakfast elsewhere.

Not cheap, but surprisingly competitive in price. Great staff, handy location and well appointed, clean rooms.

The hotel is nice and everything but location sucks big time. Stayed there while my wife had surgery and that night over 15 cars had there windows busted out and everything stolen. Then they stole are car from there parking lot in the back of the hotel. Police were called at 130 am and they didn't even show up till 1030 later that day. You couldn't pay me to go back to Seattle or the hotel that my car was stolen at. The inside and everything they have to offer in the hotel was really good even the staff was good through everything but everything outside sucks.

Have been here many times and rooms and service are consistent. Breakfasts buffet has plenty of choice (although they could have more vegan options). Great location close to UW hospital.

Staying here on a business trip, staff has been great, love the location, not a bad room set up, good amenities. However I am questioning the cleaning process or attention to detail, my guest and I discovered used underwear that was not ours, underneath a hung up towel. Disturbing to find others items left in the room, especially of the kind, from the guests before. It could be a genuine mistake but I have not had this happen to me before and have a hard time understanding how it happened.

Easy access right off the road, easy friendly check in. Clean room, mini suite is perfect, has a pocket door to separate rooms and 2 TV's. Booked parking when I reserved, parking outside by the building. Would stay here again.

I travel quite a bit for work and for misc personal things. I checked in tonight and was assisted by Connor and Shawn and they were absolutely fabulous. Some of the very best hotel check in staff I've ever met.I then had dinner and a couple of really wonderful cocktails prepared by the lovely Emerald in the bar. She really nailed my cognac old fashioned! It was legitimately superb.Meanwhile my laundry was washing in the provided laundry room free of charge and very convenientlyI left a few dry cleaning shirts at the front counter and expect they'll be returned by tomorrow evening. Not a super luxury hotel, but very wonderful staff, comfy beds, great restaurant, nice linens, ectSuper Happy !
