These guys are great! I honestly pass the store all the time and thought it was just a lumber yard. The team was super helpful, I needed a unique temporary fix to get water from my sink to a hose and fast! They came up with a genius solution and it worked great!! I will be using them all the time! Their selection of screws and fasteners is impressive!

I really enjoy having these guys in the neighborhood. They are really responsive over the phone when I call to make sure they have something before I head over. Super helpful and knowledgeable and they have an impressive lumber inventory in the back that I would have never thought they had. Looking forward to continue giving them my business so long as I'm living at a marina close by. It's always good to have your friendly neighborhood hardware guys. Thanks guys!!

Yeah it's a bit rough around the edges, but the staff is always helpful and it's handy to have a (relatively) full lumberyard right on Queen Anne.

This place is a gem. Friendly and helpful staff, and they always have what I need. It’s like the Mary Poppins bag of hardware stores— you’d think it would only hold so much, but then you name and they have it! From custom lumber cutting to an entire paint center to random magnets I needed for a project. And I cannot stress enough just how wonderful the staff is. I am super happy to support this local business.

Best local store ever, diamond in the city. Been here 3x and will continue to come here. Needed a strong glue really last minute one day, was driving to work at 7am, looked at the sign and noticed it was open; small store, got what I needed, Love the early hours of this store knowing i don’t have to drive 30 min through traffic to get to Home Depot. And the guy there that morning was in such a chipper mood, which was nice for what was going to be a long day.2nd time, needed to get NewTechWood tiles cut to finish off deck project edges. Called and was told they cut wood too. At the end, they did it correctly even though our instructions were unclear. Background: Needed to cut 11 tiles (12 inch by 12 inch), 6 of them 6 inches and 5 of them 5.5 inches. For the 5.5 inches, we needed the interlocking technology so it needed to be trimmed twice from the inside. Anyways we messed up explaining both 6’ and 5.5’, the guy asks to clarify once more, and mid convo just goes into the workshop and starts sawing it. we knock on door trying to explain it once more. He looks back, nods, and we’re kind of hoping he heard us. they came out perfect. Their patience with our lack of preparedness was appreciated. It came out to be like $10 for a 10 min project.Anyways their staff has unique personalities which I appreciate, but I’ve always been able to find what I needed, at affordable prices, and at convenient times. The parking can be a little dangerous during peak hours / commute times, but better than weaving through downtown.

We just had our counters redone but opted to do the demo and reinstall the garbage disposal ourselves. My partner did the research then determined what needed doing. We knew that multiple trips to the hardware store would be required. We walked to Home Builders Center to pick up a few things and were graced by the presence of an older, spritely gent who was knowledgeable beyond our wildest dreams. After buying the wrong parts at another store, we headed to HBC to see if they had the right ones. Not only did we find the parts we needed, this gent (ugh, wish we had his name) was available to answer any and all questions that we threw his way. His calm, friendly demeanor and no-nonsense advice made the process a breeze. The other staff members were also helpful and chill. In the land of automation and self-service, having this kind of service is a treasure. Thanks Home Builders Center, for having such wonderful staff.

What a treasure. A well stocked neighborhood hardware store with the most helpful staff you can ask for. Seattle is fortunate to have a number of good hardware stores. Home builders stands out for the way they really care about the community they serve. Go in the winter and they have a stock of heaters. In the summer there are fans. At the beginning of the pandemic they had Alcohol, wipes, rubber gloves, all the stuff no one else had. They scoured all their sources and really delivered for their customers. I've been coming here for many years and there's no way I could count the number of times they have helped out with difficult projects. The land they're on is ripe for "development." Get in here while you can.
