Hours on Google are wrong for Friday. They were very rude to my husband when he showed up at 7:29p to buy propane and they said they close at 7p.

The worst U-Haul . They rent bad condition trailers before you take a trailer or dolly make sure everything works . Poor communication bad service specially at Rainier Valley

Even if you have a reservation, plan to spend at least an hour on a weekend. This place is woefully understaffed and inefficient. All the modern apps and such don’t really make it a better experience. Just slow!!!

Excellent service and attentive personnel! Responsive and understanding after a theft attempt.
I rented a 20' truck from this location for 2 days for a move. In the middle of my move, as the truck was parked after being loaded, someone tried to steal the truck and broke the truck's lock and ignition. As a result, the truck couldn't be driven but also couldn't stay parked as it had no lock.
U-Haul's roadside assistance took care of the initial tow and triaging, but unfortunately their notes were not very good and resulted in a lot of miscommunication. This is where this location shined! After seeing the inconsistencies in the case file, the general manager of this location (Kenyata) ran point and was able to fix the truck for me to drive and unload it at the location I needed, on the next day, and even gave me an extra day to compensate for the time it took them to fix the truck. The assistant manager, Sonnet, was also super responsive, updating me even after hours to make sure everything was set for the next day and recommending some movers.
David, the mover that was recommended, was incredibly helpful, gave me a fair price, and worked very efficiently. If you need movers definitely ask the staff at this store for David.

Still understaffed. I waited in line for over an hour, and I was already checked in. There were 4 people ahead of me, in any other store this is 15 minutes max. They take about 10-30 minutes to serve each customer.

If you want to refill your propane tanks, this is the location to go to. The one across from Lowe’s is extremely busy and under staffed. There’s always a huge line. Though staff are nice, I feel sorry for them. People are demanding and they are seemingly over worked and under paid.

Extremely understaffed, very long wait times, and U-Haul has consistently failed to honor reservations, even when made months in advance.

BEWARE! I rented a van, used it for 3 hours, did no damage, returned it after hours, and then received a bill for over $1600! They claimed I damaged the van. I had used the UHaul app to take before and after pictures. They said they no longer had the pictures! They said I should have gotten insurance ... I should have taken pictures outside of the app ... the van could have been damaged when I wasn't with the van! This was clearly a scam and it felt like I wasn't the first person they'd done this to. The general manager, Tristan Biddle, wouldn't return my calls, texts, or meet with me face to face. But he was telling his front desk employee what to say to me over his walkie talkie.
After going back to the store and getting nowhere, I contacted the fraud department at my bank, entered a formal dispute with UHaul corporate, and told them I would take them to small claims court if necessary. The corporate folks were reasonable, reviewed the older photos and video, and confirmed the damage had been there for several prior rentals.
So it's not UHaul in general. It's just the guy running the Rainier Valley store who is not to be trusted. A simple 3 hour rental ends up becoming a huge headache. BEWARE!

i would recommend this location as the team there were helpful and my rental and return process' were swift and professional. the equipment was in good shape and i felt comfortable and confident using it.

The gentleman that helped me check in went above and beyond. The van was impeccable and the service was amazing. When we told the man what we needed the van for he quickly switched us to a better option for the same price without us having to ask. Thank you so much and we will definitely be using this location again.
