Rude, laconic staff in supplies section. When I asked thw woman at the counter if they carried calligraphy supplies she just shrugged and said "I don't think so" and didn't even bother to check it out. While doing just a quick walk around the store I discovered a calligraphy section. While purchasing the pen I came in for I pointed out to her that they did indeed carry calligraphy supplies. She just shrugged, not at all interested in knowing any more .

There's nothing better than wandering around a bookstore. Although I'm not a student, this is a great bookstore to visit for their book recommendations and occasional deals. I like their "bargain books" as they do often have some popular titles at a great price. I was here to go to Boona Boona cafe. I saw their cute typewriter set up so you can see how it was back in the day! Checkout was a breeze and there's a parking lot in the back which is a huge plus because finding parking on the Ave is not always easy.

Customer for over 40 years. Pros: Indie bookstore on the Ave, free validated parking, great place for all Husky Nation stuff and things, Boon Boona café, UW Alumni perks. Cons: still twitchy after all these years whether required books each quarter were available, lol. Proud UW Seattle alum and parent. Go Huskies!

The bookstore used to have a bigger selection of art material / stationary - the fun goods. It’s still fun to shop as an alumni but I wish they would increase the variety in inventory. The staff in the nook floor (first floor) are friendly and gave great recommendations when I was shopping for children’s books.

A long time operating book store in the University District of Seattle. Helpful staff is generally the rule. The definite headquarters for Husky memorabilia. I always pick up my check book size "Pocket Pal Calendar" each year there. Frequent author book readings & autograph sessions. A large parking lot is adjacency to the east side of the store. It also has a coffee shop on site. UWAA members get a 10% discount on many of the items for sale.

University Book Store has a great selection of books and a very knowledgeable staff. They also have many gift items such as puzzles. If you are looking for University of Washington Husky gear this is the place to shop. The have also partnered with Boon Boona Coffee which has a cafe in the store. Boon Boona is a local Black owned business. Shop local and independent!

As always the UW bookstore was exceptional! I had a T-shirt to exchange for a different size. They handled it with no-fuss whatsoever.

Worst signing I’ve ever been to in my life. They over sold tickets for the venue they booked and KNEW it. Even announcing that we didn’t have much time they allowed the first half of people to take their time, which left the last 20% to get 0 time to speak to an author we waited 2 HOURS to see. Absolutely ridiculous to make us pay for nothing. If I wanted just a signed book I wouldn’t have gone to the signing, I would have just bought one and not wasted two hours. What I wanted, and was promised in the ticket, was a signing with the author that allowed two signed books and a picture. I only got one and not even a moment with the author. The author wasn’t able to spare a glance up because the staff were rushing him through the last couple signings. I’m so disappointed and wish I could say this was the only time I’ve had a bad experience but they are so awful at hosting author signings. It’s a shame it’s the only place authors go around here

It's not much to look at on the inside. University merchandise is rather expensive. Sales items, restrooms, package and shipping, lab coats are on the second floor. There is a cafe on the ground floor. Parking is in the back.

It’s what you need it to be. Books, etc are all pretty smooth to get from here. Some things I would recommend third party sellers, but wait until class starts for a professor to advise you one way or the other. Other than that, it has some very souvenir like things, the best selection of art supplies in the neighborhood (no fabric arts though!) and… pasanki egg dying kits? Huh. Cool though! You can also get tiny watercolor sets that will fit in your purse. A good activity to pull out at a moments notice

I grew up visiting this sci-fi fantasy section (although it's moved downstairs). It's well curated with staff recommendations like at Powell's. Lots of signed copies. They often host local author talks of notable authors. Lots of cute college book store merch too! Parking is free under two hours.

I really like the staff especially the coffee shop they lemme charge my phone for free and it is just like Library. The bathroom is upstairs. The uw apparel is very expensive but fun to wear to a game, and it looks really lavish and high quality.
