This is the first time I have been there in decades. Since they moved across the street on M L King Way S. My best friend used to work there decades ago. Anyway, I was with a Samoan friend, who wanted to stop in. Back when my friend worked there, they only sold vegetables. Thus the name Vegetable Bin. Not anymore! They sell T-Shirts and other clothing items and knick knacks. They also have a deli now. My friend mentioned their Musubi sandwiches. Technically, I suppose it's not a sandwich. More like sushi, but not sliced... Spam and rice, wrapped in Nori seaweed. It was very good! I also grabbed a turkey tail. Also very good! When I was growing up, the butt cut of a chicken was my favorite part. The sweet, fatty meat of the tail, and the 2 tiny chicken oysters near the spine. Arguably the best tasting part of a chicken. Anyway, the turkey tail was delicious! Nice and fatty, and in a delicious sauce. I will have to return and check out their other deli items. Another review to come. Check them out!

I feel very saddened when retailers come into the community and price gauge. $19.99 for noodles and then have nerve to look at you as if you were going to steal their high priced outdated goods. Be community based not profit based. Why charge $4.99 for a Mikes beer when you can go down the street and get it for $3.34? And they call themselves a vegetable bin store with no produce, go figure. Sad

This visit was off the wall - 25+years I have never been disappointed with the food. Palusami made my throat itchy, more leaves than coconut and so small - first time ever!It was unusual, weird, strange and so I inquired, "Where's Sung?" The woman (sister in law) said, "Sung passed away six months ago." My heart, I thought, "No wonder!" This long time running Owner always had a smile - he was a great guy!He will be missed! Rest in peace Sung!

Love this local neighborhood 'stop & shop' family business. Friendly service, variety of merchandise, and in store hot food! Conveniently located on MLK Jr Way So. & Henderson Street directly across from the light rail station. Support local small business!

Definitely not the same deli as I remember a decade ago. There were very little options for hot foods around 11:30am. I came for my favorite octopus in coconut cream which, to my surprise is now sold in small containers. It also is not as good as I remember.

This place has been here a long time so I was excited to try and I love Samoan food. But it was REALLY expensive and not tasty at all. None of it. The palusami was pure salt I had to throw it away. The turkey tails were stale and rough and dry and chewy. The spam musubi was bad, burnt sauce and rice was over overcooked and really mushy but also old and stale too. It was horrible food actually. I miss Lily's in Kent.

Very convenient convenience store, very helpful clerk at the front counter. Helped me carry my things and bagged up my water for me. Seemed like a good place to stop for provisions. Time to go back another day and really get a good idea of it. Glad it was right by the MLK link station

Heard about this place from my Neurologist and very grateful to have finally found a place that makes Amazing Samoan food . The best part was discovering the UFO chips we have been searching for many years since we left home. First visit, we bought 27 bags of UFO chips! It was so exciting. Care packages were made for my nieces and nephews in Florida and South Carolina. 12 cans of Pisupo! And it's the exact one we grew up eating when were little. Bought 4 Palisamis (huge ones) tubs of ready made octopus (just like my Dad used to make) pineapple half moon pies, Ready made taro, and of course, Turkey tails cooked in Shoyu! For bonus, 16 bags of Bongos (big bags). Ready made meals immediately frozen and vacuum sealed for next day shipment to my family around the globe. My niece danced around her home upon receiving her box. My nephew ate all his chips in one sitting ( he's a typical big Samoan) and I really enjoy putting these packages together for them. Previous reviews mentioned pricing was a bit much BUT I expected it. It's so worth it. After 22 years away from home and unable to locate the perfect place to make Samoan food just like home (straight out of umu) this place has provided such a happy place for us and the set up even reminds us of Noela's store in Leone back in the day (minus the hot foods). Now if they start selling the milk from New Zealand and cans of Camp Pie, I'm not going to know what to do with myself lol. We walked through the aisles and just became overwhelmed with memories.
