Cooler screens creep me out, avoiding Walgreens like the plague because istg im going to burst a blood vessel if I'm going to have to be visually violated any more. Also the cameras? Really. I'd rather go somewhere where I feel safe and not on display 24/7. You're not even paying for us to deal with this tech. I was looking for a new pharmacy. Guess who it won't be.

Had a disappointing experience in this store today (Nov 24th) with a manager there named Mary.I came in from out of town to buy items that are advertised on the store's website, only to be told by staff (trying their best), that they can't honour online prices within the store for some foolish reason (even though the items I wanted were on the shelf). The manager normally in the past would simply grant the online price, but Mary refused to even consider it.She never even came out of her office.Terrible management there and it needs to change - suggest replacement / fresh training for her. What kind of store will not honour their online price within the store?

Bessie the pharmacist lied to me about my medications. I requested refills from my provider she failed to realize I filled the order elsewhere. She lied and said there was no available prescriptions. There was so. When I complained to her she got smart with negative comments and failed to do her job and did not fulfill the order. I explained to her I will be doing her review and she replied she didn’t care. She was and is unprofessional and needs to be address for her poor behavior. I would recommend management terminate her position and to have her find employment elsewhere. I will continue to write reviews for this company until expectations are met.

I am a healthcare provider (who works with Covid patients) and would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I came in to attempt to get a Covid booster and they were fully booked which I understood but also asked that if anyone did not show up for their appointment if I could take it instead if I were here and on site at the time and the pharmacist’s response was “ No we have too much work to do.” The next available appointment is not for a week. It is very concerning to me that the pharmacists in this establishment appear to have no empathy or care for others. I was asking to take an open slot if someone didn’t use theirs— very simple. They are clearly overworked, rude, and extremely unfriendly and I will not be returning here nor recommending this Pharmacy to any of my patients as a result of that.

EDIT (11/07/23): I cannot even put into words how disappointed I am with the drop in quality of this pharmacy over the past few months. They went from having on time refills, being easy to contact by phone, and having polite pharmacists to messed up refills, unanswered calls, and one particularly rude pharmacist (not any of the techs, the pharmacist — the techs are awesome). I understand that pharmacists are stretched thin right now but this shortage of pharmacists in the field is affecting the patients too. There’s no need to take your frustration out on us.Having to refill 4 prescriptions a month is a huge pain for me and I don’t need anyone giving me sass, being rude, and making my life more difficult. That kind of mess can make me run out of meds. For example, a pharmacist in the spring told me I could send in my schedule II prescription for a refill that I needed *that day* because I was going to run out over the weekend. You may be asking yourself why I waited until the last minute to get my refill. Well, I didn’t. In fact, earlier in the month the pharmacist told me she could do a partial refill on my meds and I could come back to get the rest “whenever” (direct quote). Unfortunately, apparently you need to request the rest of the refill within 72 hours or you’ll need a new prescription. I found that out when I called to refill on a Friday. Anyway, I busted my butt chasing down my physician for a new prescription and was miraculously able to get a new one sent to them by 3pm. Then I’m waiting for the refill I was promised and nothing. Finally I called and they were OUT OF STOCK. This is a schedule II so I cannot pick up the meds anywhere but where the physician sends the prescription. So I was SOL. The doctor’s office had closed for the weekend. I ran out of medication and had to spend 3 days in extreme discomfort because of this. It was unacceptable.I have a three strike policy, and they just earned their third strike this morning when I got repeatedly interrupted and shut down by the pharmacist until I eventually just hung up. Anyway, congrats, you just lost $5k+ next year because I’m taking my business elsewhere. What’s crazy is that since my original review was posted, the Bartell in Cap Hill is actually BETTER than the Walgreens. HA!————————Despite how sketchy it is outside, the inside of the store is very clean and they have a great pharmacy.I moved here a little over a year ago and since then I’ve been to two other Walgreens (both in Cap Hill) and one Bartell Drugs (Harvard Market). They were all a nightmare. I pick up 5 different prescriptions each month, one of them being a Schedule II. Bartell was notorious for holding my Schedule II hostage and not answering the phone. Most S2 prescriptions can only be picked up at the pharmacy the physician originally sent it to, so the 5 day wait times and ignored phone calls were a major issue that left me without meds for several days MULTIPLE TIMES. All of my prescriptions are for meds that I cannot miss a dose of, and I’d be lying if I said this didn’t take a huge toll on my health. The other two Walgreens were okay, but they were always out of stock with my S2.The pharmacy at this Walgreens has been a breath of fresh air. When I call, someone actually answers the phone, and they fill prescriptions promptly. I haven’t run out of meds since I started going there. This Walgreens is a 20 minute detour on my commute that I am happy to take because this is the only downtown pharmacy I’ve been to so far that’s actually reliable.

Quite frankly, they don't merit the star I'm awarding them. They behave as though they despise their jobs and every person in this never-ending queue. This is the last time I will be using this drugstores, even though I know they could care less.

I was at this Walgreens location last night and the security guard working was very clearly high on drugs. It was very unnerving to see him pacing around, talking to himself, talking rapidly, making faces in the window at himself. He carries a gun, that is absolutely terrifying to think about what could happen if he used it! It is extremely unsafe to allow someone clearly under the influence of substances to work let alone work as security where you are provided with weapons. YIKES!

Twice in the last week I've come into the store, picked up what I wanted to buy, stood in line for about ten minutes, gone up to the cashier, and then the cashier just up and walks away in the middle of what they're doing to help a co-worker with something. The first time I waited about 3 minutes and today about 5 minutes. Then the cashier comes back without so much as making an acknowledgement of me, then takes another minute or two to get back on track before asking for payment. Here's a wild suggestion, Walgreens employees... Finish what you start.Screw free covid testing... This place should give out free adhd meds to all employees. On the bright side... The security guards are coo.

Went in for toothbrushes and found what we needed on the second floor. As we were checking out, a security officer was searching a shopper's bag as suspected for shoplifting. It was very uncomfortable, as the shopper was claiming she was being racially profiled. The security officer stayed professional, calmly explaining what he witnessed and what likely was recorded by the store surveillance.

Terrible Walgreens. Felt like shopping in a third-world country. Waiting in line had to deal with a very loud mentally ill person who was shouting at people, but security did not bother to remove them from the store. Could not purchase the Nicoderm patch I wanted from behind the counter because the otherwise nice lady working the counter did not speak enough English to have the slightest idea what I wanted. If you hire a person for a customer service role it would help to have them speak the language of your customers. I will not go back. And this was all in the middle of the afternoon, not even late at night.

I’ve been using this Walgreens for my prescription needs for fifteen years and the pharmacy staff at this location is the absolute best. They take amazing care of their regular customers, know your name when you walk up, and go out of their way to make you feel valued.
