In general, I’ve had great experiences with WAFD but it was my first time visiting this location. My review is with respect to the customer interaction I saw between the Magnolia branch manager Jay and a customer they blew off. That Jay blew off the customer after asking if they needed help and then saying someone else will be able to help them was surprising - especially after the customer stated they only had a couple minutes. Nonetheless the customer walked out and I left not believing what I just witnessed. Maybe Jay was having a bad day, but don’t ask someone if they need help and then refuse to help them.

Established a "free" checking account, 0% interest, for settling my mother's estate. After a few months started getting $6 fees. Complained to manager, who very un-apologetically told me I had been notified that account was "upgraded" as part of a promotion to one that had more services, and that it was on me to cancel after a short time or the account would be left like this. I didn't catch it, but complained that since I didn't want or need the BS extras I should be credited back. She begrudgingly gave me a single month's $6 credit. I immediately yanked out all but just a tiny amount in the checking account, since I still needed somewhere to deposit. Couple months later I was refused ability to deposit a dividend check since it was made out to my mother vs. the estate. I said this was the sole reason I kept the account, and that it was perfectly OK per the IRS. She just said it is now bank policy not to take. Couple more months go by and I finally establish new estate account with far superior BECU bank. When I went to close the account at WAFED, I see that they had been charging me $5 per month "inactivity" fee. This bank, and this location's manager, are beyond useless and worthless. Not sure how much money a bank makes off of $100k of deposits, but seems that screwing customers till they withdraw it isn't good bidness.

I would give less stars if I could. Just not worth your time at this branch, and for some reason they take way longer than any other branch. Manager is less than friendly!

I've been banking with Washington Federal since 2006 when they were First Mutual Bank. I recommend them to my clients that I set up, review, and train one-on-one in QuickBooks and Quicken in Magnolia. Why? Because unlike US Bank, they allow free downloads into both of those software packages.

They cannot handle more than one customer at a time even though there is three staff. We came in to change beneficiary at Washington Federal in Magnolia to change something. It took them 45 minutes to print out a paper with a Name and address. We still haven't gotten a good service for signing a piece of paper. There staff is horrible and does not have great service. We told it was supposed to be a couple of minutes to do this signing and to change an address it took them 20 minutes. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!

I don't write often but I do when I am inclined to. Not sure if she is the branch manager or not but Karen probably has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am coming to give them my money to pay out my loan. She is absolutely rude and condescending bank person I have ever met. I pretty much got berated because I didn't know their own process. I will not come to Washington Federal for any future business. I am completely dumbfounded and in awe by the service I received. I don't recommend anybody to do so unless there is a change here.
