Poor customer service interaction. I felt as if I was not wanted in your bank. Then I need to show a social security number to get two rolls of quarters.Again, I felt as though my presence was not wanted in your bank.If ever given an opportunity, I will choose any other option.Happy Monday!

First off, the service at this branch is top notch. No complaints there. However, be careful with the CDs the bank is offering. They offered me a rate of 4.8% for a CD. When it automatically rolled over the new rate was 0.1%. That is an outrageous interest percentage when the Fed Funds rate is 5.25% and most money market funds are paying 5%. Yes, I missed the very fine print notice about this when I signed up for the CD. But, that still does not justify paying a rate of 0.1% when the Fed Funds rate is 5.25%. The saving account rate is also 0.1%. So, what is the benefit of having your money locked into a CD there for the same rate?

I would highly recommend this bank. This branch has the most energetic team always ready to assist me with all my needs. I love that they offer different accounts and can print debit cards the same day you open an account.

WA Federal is a nice bank. They have a great family atmosphere and you can tell the bankers and tellers really care about you. Jack, from the crown hill branch has even recognized me outside the bank and said hello in passing. It shows they really do know and recognize me. That being said, the "family feel" of WA Fed also means it operates a bit slower and at times a bit behind a bigger bank. The online banking options are definitely limited, tellers focus more on customer service than on speed, etc. At the end of the day the employees are great and I love the customer service, but the functionality and convenience definitely lags behind chase (where I do most of my banking).

As a small business owner, I've been banking with them since 2006 when they were First Mutual Bank. I recommend Washington Federal and several others to my clients that I set up, review, and train one-on-one in QuickBooks and Quicken. Why? Because unlike US Bank, they allow free downloads into both of those software packages and you can get a free business checking account as long as you keep a measly $500 in it. Also, when I got a bounced check last month, I was pleased to be charged $5.00 for it, a reasonable fee.
