This is the best shoe shopping experience I’ve had in years. They have great foot measuring equipment to fit your feet properly. Tim was extremely helpful. I was able to try them out at home as I have some foot issues. I came back to get a wider shoe. The return was quick, easy and Lilly and Laurie were great in helping me try a wider shoe. They seriously care about your comfort. Thank you!!

Whatever happened to friendly neighborhood customer service? As a longtime West Seattle resident, I love to support our local businesses and choose local over online shopping as much as I can. This morning I stopped by West Seattle Runner with my daughter to get her foot measured. They explained they have a high-tech fitting service and I said no thanks, I just wanted to put her foot into one of those metal measuring things. We could have gone to Target but I thought, let's go to the local shop and maybe something catches our eye while we're there, or they might talk us into a great pair of shoes, or in any case we'll get better service than at Target. Even if we weren't planning to make a purchase today, we are a customer in the door to gain or retain, and being helpful and friendly goes a long way to getting me back in the door next time. (I have purchased shoes from WSR in the past as well). Instead, the woman who seemed to be in charge made it clear that if we were not there to make a purchase in that moment we were to be dismissed and made to feel like we were doing something wrong. She gave quite a bit of attitude when I asked a single question about the measurements on the tool and so out we walked, and we won't be back! Really disappointed to learn that a beloved locally owned, woman-owned business would treat people this way. Seems like a very shortsighted way to do business to me!

Stopped in here a few weeks ago for new running shoes. Super nice store, friendly employees and really forward thinking process for figuring out the best shoe for your feet. Ezra helped my partner and I find new running shoes and they have been working out great! Thanks for all your help!

Staff were super helpful and friendly! I was getting ready for a trip where i knew i would be doing a our of walking, and they succeeded in helping me get the first pair of shoes that didn't give me blisters!!

Best Running store ever. The employees are incredibly knowledgeable and the owners are the best. Always have the best interest of the community and customer in mind. Tim took extra time to get me a fitting shoe which wasn’t easy as I have extra wide feet and high arches but he found one! Lori organizes all these amazing group runs, training groups, info talks, PT night, fun events and so on. If you look for a running store, you found the best!

I had an incredible experience here today. I came in to purchase several new pairs of shoes for different purposes (daily, running, and CrossFit). Ferguson, the Master, knew exactly how to achieve the goals I was after and, using the white magic sci-fi pad, mapped my feet in impressive detail then proceeded to guide me through the selection process with very obvious expertise in the matter. The shoes I walked away with are already changing the game for me, but the best part by far was the incredible service. I’ve found my new place.

Let me start by saying I do think this is one of the best running stores in terms of apparel stock and options around Seattle but I did have a frustrating experience that has made me feel uncomfortable about returning. I called and asked if they had any water bottles that could clip to a belt and was told they did. When I arrived shortly after my call, I was recommended a bottle which I confirmed several times with the associated would clip to a belt despite my skepticism based on its appearance. Surely enough, it did not clip onto my belt but I gave it a go as a handheld but noticed it was leaking whenever I drank from it. Long story short: I was told I can’t screw the lid on all the way or else it will leak. I ended up going with a different bottle at a different store but this experience left me frustrated and feeling gaslit over a flawed product so I’m not comfortable returning.
