Visiting town and looking for a gym. I called and Tony on the phone informed me that this gym was for the college BUT was kind enough to assist in finding a community gym for non students. Thank you for being helpful and going beyond.

Good for SeattleU students to work out, usually not too busy, but limited benches, racks and cable machines.

Very convenient, as I live just down the street. There are few similar choices in the area that are this affordable. I haven't visited while school has been in-session but it is rather small and I imagine it may get crowded at times.

Summary: An above average, well maintained recreation center with a handful of amenities, is easily accessible, and is staffed by friendly students. Front desk: Typically has 1 to 3 accommodating students that greet all guests coming in. Starting a membership (I am enrolled in the LDA program) is easy. I believe month to month memberships are available. Gym: The general gym area contains the standard set of dumbbells (5-100 lbs), multiple benches, four squat racks, two cable machines (one in the gym area; the other upstairs in the cardio area), and various other machines. The equipment is new and well maintained by the staff and other members. This area in particular can get busy from 4 pm to 7 pm when school is in session Cardio: The upstairs portion of the rec center is dedicated to cardio and aerobics. The main room contains multiple rows of treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes. There are also two small aerobics rooms attached, a smaller set of dumbbells (5-27.5 lbs), and the other cable machine. Additional activities: Down the hall from the gym, there is a turf field, a basketball court, racquetball courts, and a pool. The sports teams have priority for these areas, but they are generally open for use. There is occasionally pickup basketball on the weekends. The pool is pretty standard, but has limited open lap hours. Other amenities: Seattle U offers a ton of fitness classes (for students and non-students). Information about these classes are posted in multiple locations. Street parking is available, and surprisingly, I usually find a spot right outside, even during peak hours. There are also male and female locker rooms, equipment available for free use (such as basketballs, racquets, and volleyballs)

This place is great. Plenty of equipment for all the different ways that people work out. This space is also very female friendly. I have always felt very comfortable lifting there. Gym schedule/opening hours are geared heavily towards the undergraduate academic schedule of Seattle U. So that keeps me on my toes but isn't a huge deal.

Staff is too busy trying to make fat people feel good to actually try and help them get in better shape by providing a real gym equipment.
