High employee turnover, don't answer the phone, don't respond to voicemails, and don't fix the problems I paid them to fix. Now they won't respond.

I inherited a Mercedes-Benz 300Turbo Diesel from my stepmother. I had though to fly to Sequim and drive the car home. Then I learned it had been sitting in her garage for over a year. I contacted European Autowerks for an opinion on the driveability of the car. They told me it could be upwards of $1200 - $1500 to get the car engine flushed of bad fuel. I decided at that time to hire a car carrier to haul the car across country. Hen I got to Sequim I discovered that the hood release cable was frozen and I couldn't get the hood open. I had the car towed to the shop and was quoted $110 as an hourly rate to get the hood open & check the battery with a promise to call if it was going to take longer. I agreed. I was having difficulty finding a car carrier who was willing to drive all the way to Sequim. So I also asked the shop if I might be able to pay them to hold the car until I could figure out how to either get the car to Tacoma to meet a carrier or find a carrier who would drive to Sequim all the time worrying because I only had 2 more days before I had to fly home. It turned out that my mom had her car serviced here for 16 years and in the last few years Scott, the owner, would pickup and deliver mom's car to her house and always made time to have tea and chat with my mom, who lived alone and was in her late 80s. He got to know her very well and had not realized she had passed away. Scott's mechanic got the hood open, warrantied the battery and told me if I could leave the car with him for the carrier to pick up or he would be willing to trailer the car to Tacoma to meet the carrier if I couldn't find one willing to go all the way to Sequim. And he wouldn't accept any kind of payment! He was truly an answer to prayer in a really stressful and sad time for me. If I lived in Sequim I would take my car to him anytime I needed work done.

Factory trained mechanics that go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. The shop is clean and very professional. Highly recommend for all makes and models of vehicles. They take care of our Chevrolet truck as well as our BMW sedan. Highly recommended!

Being retired I never minded the trip to Seattle for routine car maintenance at Seattle Mercedes Benz. Due time the limited encounter policy of he virus containment I decided to stay home and have European Auto take over keeping my 2016 GLE350. In two to three hours I was driving it home. The work and service were excellent. I'm happy to know I can get such great service easily. Saved me hours of travel and I only saw one person so my exposure was minimal and safer than the option of going the dealer.

We have taken both our Mercedes to European Autowerks for “A†service thinking it would make sense rather than driving all the way to the dealer in Seattle. A service basically consists of an oil change. The first time was the E350 and we agreed to the added bleed brake hydraulic system. Total bill was over $700. The second time was the AMG 63 and they wanted to replace the spark plugs, drain and refill all the drive cases, and do the brake bleed which would have added another $1,500 plus to the bill. As it was we were charged over $500 for an oil change. To make matters worse they then refused to reset the computer to get rid of the A service notice because we didn't have them do the extra work.

On a Monday our car started knocking really bad, we called a tow truck and we happened to be close to European AutoWerks, so we had it towed there. The tow truck driver left the lights (or 4-way flashers) on and killed the battery. So the tech brought a booster box to jump it and started it. They heard the knocking and turned it off in less than 60 seconds. They said there was obviously major engine problems and they didn't feel it was advisable to run it any longer. I believe they hooked up a code reader but I was not informed if it showed anything or not. We had an extended warranty through a separate company, so I gave them the information and they called to try to get approval to do the work. I don't think they were on the phone for even 30 minutes. They were told to get a price quote to replace the engine. At that point two of the techs discussed at length whether or not they could say it needed a new engine without further diagnostic. They told me they needed 3 hours of labor at over $200.00 per hour, to pull the whole engine apart to determine if it could be rebuilt or it needed to be replaced. At this point I received an important call and stepped out to take the call, I ended up spending 30 to 45 minutes on the call. When I went back in they said they made a couple of calls and the cheapest engine they could find was $2000.00 and I would have to pick it up in Tacoma. I told them the most I might be able to come up with was $1000.00. They said most of that would be used up with the diagnostic. While we were having that conversation, the extended warranty company called me to tell me they wouldn't cover more than $450.00. After that, the techs and I spent quite awhile discussing my options (or lack there of). But I ultimately told them that we didn't have enough to do anything then and said we might try to trade it in (even though we still owed on it). I asked if they could recommend a dealer that might take it. They said they weren't sure but would make a couple of calls. I told them I was working Tuesday & Wednesday, and asked if I could leave the car there until Thursday so I could make arrangements to have it towed. They said that would be fine but no longer. Then they mentioned that I would have to pay before I could take the car. I was totally shocked that they wanted to charge me for the 60 second diagnostic. I asked how much and they said the car had been there for 3 hours at that point and I should be paying them for the 3 hours. Then they acted like they felt bad for me and said they would give me a break and only charge me for 1 hour. I went ahead and payed the $210.85 and left. The next morning before 9:00am I get a message that they wanted me to get the car out of their parking lot. When I called them to tell them I was working on arrangements to get it towed, they said that the boss offered to buy the car for $100.00. Which was a major insult since they had charged me over $200.00 the day before for doing absolutely nothing, other than making a couple of phone calls.

Not helpful on phone call inquiry. Had a question about a 1989 Porsche 944. Was originally told they do not work on vehicles prior to 1996. I told them, I was given a vehicle (1983 Saab 900 Turbo) they had worked on, and I actually trailered it from their business. Funny...if they don't work on pre 1996, why did they work on it? It wasn't fixed...maybe that's what they meant. They dont fix pre 1996 vehicles cause they can't read codes prior to that?

I have dealt with this repair shop since moving to the area several years ago. In the past I have always had excellent professional service on my M-B and recently my BMW. This last service caused concern that the former mechanics and management that I trusted were no longer there. The current mechanics seem less experienced. Also, upon receiving an estimate for repairs, the person suggested I make a deposit for work that would be approx. $2,000 and included normal parts (alternator and fluid). After questioning this request he backed down, but why in the world request a deposit? Once the final invoice was issued I found the charges to be a bit excessive . I checked with the Seattle BMW dealer and they would have been less expensive (usually dealers are more than a local independent shop). The important issue for me is to trust the people I am dealing with to do a good job at a reasonable cost and I have lost confidence in this shop. Bottom-line is, I will take my business elsewhere.

Absolutely do not take your foreign car here. I took my vintage 911 here for an oil change that was done improperly and then was grossly overcharged. First of all, they used the wrong oil (synthetic vs mineral), and only after my calling their attention to it did they replace it with the correct oil, yet I I don't believe that they changed the oil filter, since when I checked my oil level later, the oil was milky. The oil filter was replaced with a low end filter (as I was told by another mechanic) and they charged me almost $30 for it. They replaced the oil tank gasket with a copper one instead of the normal aluminum creating a leak at that junction, then to top it all off, they used RTV to seal the sump plate and stripped 3 of the studs that hold the plate in place. I will definitely NEVER return to this shop.

I am not sure what to think about this shop. I have been charged mostly an hour for less than 10 minutes to wrongly diagnose a rattle noise at cold start on a Mini Cooper. These guys mostly work on older cars.
