I set up an account here several months ago and it's been nothing but a pain in the behind. They are absolutely NOT customer oriented. For example: 1. When I set up the account, I told the person that my friend had referred me to them. The man did not bother to mention that there was a promotion for both of us (referral bonus and new customer bonus) and when I came back a week later to ask a bout to, I was told it was too late because it wasn't done at set up. 2. I made it clear that my residential address does not get mail and to be sure to send the debit card to my mailing address. The guy said it would be fine, then it was mailed to the wrong address and it was about 10 days before I got the re-mailed card. 3. Last adventure with them was trying to cash a check on my bank located on the other side of the state so I could purchase a cashier's check. They didn't call to verify the account and balance, just told me I'd have to deposit it, wait for it to clear, and then come back to make my purchase. During the transaction I was treated as suspect; at one point, with my Sound account up on her screen, my check on the counter, and my driver's license lying right there (she even used it to enter my name into her computer!) she told me that they 2 know me and they didn't know the person who wrote the check (me!) and that was all they could do. She repeatedly explained to me that if I cashed the check and it bounced, it would cause my Sound account to overdraft. I finally had to explain to her that I know how banking works. This is the same bank that won't y let you buy rolls of coins unless you're a customer. If you like good customer service and a bank that's there to help you, this ain't the place.

Zero customer service. $7.00 for a cashiers check to a customer they have had for years. All because We wanted to move some of our money to a different bank. Management needs work. Manager Conner wants; to " Stick to the policy" Many other quality banks to choose from in Sequim who value customers. Sound Community bank. They love you when you put money in, and disown you when you take money out. We will bank elsewhere.

Went to the drive through on a Saturday to buy several rolls of quarters. The teller was quite friendly right up until she told me that since I’m not a Sound client, they wouldn’t do that. Well, guess who will NEVER be a Sound client now!It would have taken less than 90 seconds to ask how many rolls I needed, put them in the tray, and retrieve my money. I mean, it’s a bank !! Isn’t that where you’re supposed to go for money? It literally took longer for the teller to ask her supervisor if she could sell me some change than it would have to just do it.I prefer a more helpful bank, willing to try to earn my business. Sound just got crossed off my list.

ATM’S Never take deposits.. Really annoying and it’s been this way for a while. If your out of state you can forget about depositing money into your account. Very disappointed in this bank. Will definitely look elsewhere.

I arrived at the Sequim branch right at opening. I was the only customer there. Stood in line for almost 10 minutes. Not one of the 6 people there greeted me, or said a thing to me. Finally had to leave without being helped to go to work. Very bad customer service!

Absolute train wreck, after jumping through endless hoops on a commercial loan, they decided against the loan with no reason given. Not only did it cost me $4715. for 2 appraisals, flood report and others, they have refused to return the final $285. from my $5000. deposit. No money, no response from emails and phone calls. Worst banking experience I've ever had.

By far, the best bank I have used. Their customer service is astonishingly quick and they jump to answer my questions and are so fast at fixing anything they have the immediate power to fix. I really appreciate the way they treat their customers. I totally recommend them.

I reached out to the VP, Kirsten Pawlak, both by phone and email regarding my incompetent loan officer and asking is there another LO I can be referred to that will get the job done. No response. That's GREAT customer service. Especially from the VP of the bank!So far just to get a mortgage approval letter, it's taken 2 WEEKS and counting, and I've submitted all the documentation a week ago! Normal lenders have this done in TWO DAYS. There is zero urgency or communication. I've lost 2 homes I've been looking at waiting for an approval letter. Loan officer Mark in Tacoma, I have a hard time giving him any financial compensation for as little as he's done.Lack of communication, speed of service, VP that can't be bothered to respond to a potential mortgage customer, SCB doesn't even deserve one star. I am beyond frustrated. As if home buying isn't stressful enough! The bank should be giving me a lower interest rate just for the inconvenience this is causing.EDIT- I transferred to another LO because Mark was a joke to work with. Jordan was the new LO. He qualified me for mortgage based off the information from Mark. So I began looking for my new home between $350-400k. Oh no. Three days later, Jordan says $325-350k max budget.A week later, no, you only qualify for $200k. Say what? Luckily I never put an offer in BUT $150,000 difference is a huge sum of money to make a mistake on! $10-20k difference I can understand. But $150k?!?Jordan said he'd call the next day to explain his errors. Nothing. Her emailed 3 days later, " how are things"? I responded, Well I met with BofA the day before for further information. To which he responds, "well sometimes it is good too look at other lenders". WOW. So your job is to help find funding for customers and you're telling me looking at another bank is positive?I guess SCB doesn't need new business or clients.
