I chose Denny’s due to good ratings and convenience. I’ll never do that again. I paid over $800 for a simple battery replacement, a diagnostic test that did not lead to a repair, and to have them blow the dust off my breaks to stop an annoying squeak. I would have been better off driving the car across the mountains to my old mechanic. Still looking for a reliable and fair repair shop on the west side of the Cascades.

About a month ago i started experiencing issues with 2016 subaru outback, the battery was dieing, when we switched the battery it caused my vehicle not to start, had to have it towed into dennys where they quickly.discovered my main subaru fuse was blown.
after ordering and putting the new fuse in they would call back .
they did call me back quickly and let me know that who ever did work on my sube in the past switched a bunch of fuses around, dennys quickly caught it and fixed the issue, my car was repaird and up in running in less than a week. Im So happy with how quickly and effectively they handled my issues and how tranparent and communicstive sunshine was. I will Definitely be taking my cars here from now on.

In every town there is that one mechanic shop that goes above and beyond, in Shelton that's Denny's Auto Service.

They want $180-$260 just for a check engine light diagnostic test…no work done just the test…. I can’t even imagine what they will try to charge for actually fixing an issue….. Don’t go here.

I was taken advantage of as an elderly disabled customer to these dishonest people. Took my van here to diagnose a ticking in the motor, paid at the time 167 dollars to which they listen and told me it what it could be a nd I had to make an appointment for them to peopeely diagnos it. So I got is about a week later. They took my motor apart to twll me it was the rocker arms and lifters. And so I agreed to the repair vecause I trusted their machanics. They called me bafore thanksgiving and said it was finishedand and I asked about what parts were replaced and how the cam shaft looked and he told me that the mechanic said it was marked but that it wasnt bad and didnt need to replace it, so he told me that he would do a cold start the next morning to make sure the ticking was gone. Well the next day I get a call in the afternoon and he said its still ticking and ir would cost me an additional four thousand to change the camshafts that should have veen changed along with the orher parts they were charging me 2600 for. I told them it took me a year to save up the 2600 and asked why they didnt twll mw that when the motor was open so I could decide if I wanted then to do that exspensive of a repair. They told me either way could I have afforded it at that tima and I said no but I also said that if they told the trurh about what extent of the repairs were needed in the first place I could heve said no to the whole repair, paid the labor and save up for the complete repair oe have time to get a loan or something. But they didnt do that. They made me pay for hald the job then told me that my car would have to remain parked at home and could not drive it or they would not guarentee the first part of the repairs they did. This place is truly a place that takes advantage of people. I will never trust a place like this ever and they should be ashamed od themselves for what they did. I needed my van for nedical appointments and now its sits until I can save money foe the repair plus Im out 2600 for a botched repair that never happened right. A skilled mechanic knows you dont put a marked camshaft back in the motor and expect to fix ticking. Shame on the mechanic and Denny's auto service for doing this to an elderly disabled person like that

Be warned. I had good experiences with Denny's in the past, though more expensive than most, and I got a tune-up here a couple months ago since I thought I could trust them. My check engine light came on a month later and when I had Les Scwab diagnose it they said I needed a tune-up since all my plugs are misfiring! So I called Denny's and 1)they couldn't get me in for almost 3 weeks, 2) when I go in there this morning they want to charge me $260 just to look at it! So clearly they dont guarantee their work and don't consider this when you come back to check their work. I walked out. They treated me fine, but that's the worst customer service policy I have ever experienced. I have lost trust and they have officially lost this customer.

It was a pleasant experience if you don't count the part that my car broke ? grateful to have them fix it and if I lived in Shelton I would definitely take my car there for future repairs

Called to make an appt because my ac was blowing hot air out of one side of my car. Very common problem with my car. Woman told me it’s $260-380 to fix an ac. My appt is about 10 days later, where I’m then told there’s a fee of $128-158 to diagnose my old car. I would have paid around $250 for someone else to replace the actuator, but I’m not paying over $400. I’m sure they’re fine mechanics, so I gave them a couple stars, but what a waste of time.
