What a difference!! Having dealt with other larger sewing stores in the area it was great to find City Vacuum and Sewing! They serviced my Brother Luminaire XP2 in just 2 days ( instead of 3 weeks) and charged less!! Wow, they're awesome!

I've been twice thus far (once to drop off my sewing machine and once to pick it up), and I've left the store both times thinking, "this was the best customer service I've experienced in a long time...maybe ever". In addition to the delightful staff (Sam and George), the service is stellar. They have transparent pricing (and will call if pricing will go above). In my case, it didn't, which was a delightful surprise. They fixed my machine in a mere few days, and I've confirmed that it's in better shape than ever. Sam is super passionate and knowledgable about all things sewing. I expressed interest in looking at a new sewing machine. She truly listened to my needs and expertly walked me through options. So glad I've found this place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

we really, really, needed a hepa fiiter for our very, very, old Kenmore upright vacuum cleaner. we went to the big box hardware store across the parking lot from costco and a very nice lady at the flooring desk directed us to City Vacuum & Sewing Center. literally, holding the hepa filter in my hand, we headed to the door. a gentleman exiting from his pickup followed us in. as we stared at the wall of vacuum filters another very nice lady asked if we needed help, and the gentleman said, "they need blah blah blah. i'll get it from the back room" !!! turns out the gentleman was the owner and he knew exactly what we needed just from seeing the filter in my hand as we walked in! we were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. these guys are the real thing. oh, there are some high-powered sewing machines i presume is for quilting. highly recommended. they know what they are doing.

Brought in my Miele vacuum as it was making an odd sound and not working right. They had it repaired and back to me within two days for a very reasonable price. The owner seems to know his stuff and was very friendly.

So I heard good things about this place and I called ahead and was told that they don't work on Dyson's but he would take a look at why the brush wasn't rotating. So I loaded it up and showed up thinking that I would buy a new vac if there was no hope. I guess we got off on the wrong foot, he was dismissive and condescending/reluctant to even show me where the battery was if I was going to replace it myself. I get it he doesn't do Dysons,. And I don't buy new expensive vacuums from people who are rude to me.

What a gem of a business. I discovered this place about ten years ago. Through the years I have brought various vacuums for repairs, some that I thought were beyond repair! Each one was inspected and repaired working better than before. The customer service is exceptional and so friendly. So thankful I found this place...thank you George and family. My carpets have never looked so good!!

Days before Thanksgiving, we discovered our fairly new Miele cannister vacuum was full of water. The motor was shot and needed to be replaced. It also stunk of mildew! George had a replacement motor available and had it installed and cleaned of all odors by the early evening. Not only that, he delivered it to our house around 8pm! City Vacuum is the greatest. I wouldn't buy a machine anywhere else.

4.5 stars, actually. Quick, professional service on my shockingly old vacuum (is it really THAT old?) The only reason I did not offer a 5-star rating was the fact that I have only had one interaction with them, and the fact that they seem to offer boutique vacuums to customers, and while I would like to replace my vintage vacuum, I am not too excited to spend 3 or 5x as much as a basic vacuum to purchase the type that they offer.

This review is all about pricing. Listen I under stand being in business and making a profit so don't get me wrong. This place is robbing customers of the basic sewing necessities at more that triple the price than every other place know to humans. To the Owners "sewing needles should not be your only way of making money". If that is truly the only way or you way of finding a loop of cash then you should really get out of the business. Absolutely ridiculous.

Bought a vacuum here August 8th 2022. Had called to see if they had a specific model (Miele C3 Calima) and they were the only ones in the area that did. When I went into the store I actually asked about a more expensive model but the sales rep / owner (?) said that for my home's flooring the Calima would be a better fit. I brought vacuum bags for my old vacuum which was a model they also sold and in return he gave me a box of vacuum bags for my new model free. They don't do trade-in of an old vacuum but he did dispose of it for free. Showed me where the filter and bag are and trolls me to call with any questions

Staff were very knowledgeable and made sure to keep me informed. Even went out of there way to check on a specialty foot for my machine.

Brought in my machine because the knob to bring the needle down was stuck on something. Pretty pretentious when I came in, mostly kind. It was clear to me they assumed I knew nothing about my machine, and where confused as to why it was taken apart when I had been troubleshooting myself before spending money to have it fixed. I figured they would put the parts back together as I assumed they would want to open it up anyway. When I came in for pick up it was nice to see it was under budget, but the employee told me it was 'mostly putting it back together' what ??? I hope I wasn't charged $130 for just doing very basic work to put it back together. I had explained several times I took it apart to clean and blow out dust and troubleshoot before bringing it in. They did not listen well at all, didn't remember what I brought it in for (I brought it in for the nob bringing the needle down was getting stuck) As someone who has been sewing and working with sewing machines most my life it was definitely a mildly annoying experience. I recommend to be more respectful of all kinds of people that come in, as sewing isn't only for the older generations. Actually listen to what your clients are telling you is wrong. That and I had a machine and serger serviced several years ago else where, for $50 per machine. Admittedly I don't have them break on me often so I don't have a lot of repair experience.
