Kitsap Humane Society

Community Services/Non-Profits
Hours: Kitsap Humane Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless pets find loving homes. Since 1908, it has been sheltering animals and working towards a future where all adoptable pets have caring families. The organization relies on the kindness and generosity of the community to support its mission. Each year, thousands of animals are spayed and neutered to prevent overpopulation and reduce future homelessness. Adopters often praise the shelter for its friendly and helpful staff, who make the adoption process easy and straightforward. Many reviews highlight the clean and well-maintained facility, as well as the opportunity to bond with pets before adoption. People have adopted a variety of animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, and even special breeds like huskies. Customers appreciate the staff’s professionalism, warmth, and understanding, especially when dealing with complex situations such as introducing new pets to existing animals. The shelter's staff is recognized for their dedication, making sure each pet and adopter receives support and care. Despite occasional slow periods due to understaffing, visitors often mention that the wait is worthwhile for the chance to find a perfect furry companion. The community is encouraged to donate and support the shelter’s work, helping more pets find their forever homes. Overall, Kitsap Humane Society is appreciated for its compassionate approach, dedication to animal welfare, and efforts to connect pets with loving families. It is a trusted place for adoption and a vital part of the community’s efforts to care for animals in need.
