I had scheduled my dog an appointment for bilateral ear infections. Our appointment was for 3:30, I arrived at 3:30 and my son was going to meet me there with the dog. I let them know I was there and the patient would be arriving soon. As I was standing right outside the door waiting they called me at 3:39 and told me after 10 minutes they were going to cancel the appointment because we were late, he had 30 seconds left to arrive with the dog. Right as I hung up the phone with the staff my son pulled in, right at 3:40 and they absolutely refused to see us. This was not for a routine wellness exam, my dog has been suffering with ear infections and I have waited at least 2 weeks for this appointment. As someone who works in healthcare, I know how long it takes to look into an ear and prescribe a medication. It takes about 5 minutes. Also, the waiting room was completely empty, no one else was waiting. Ridgetop Animal Hospital has no empathy for anyone or any animal. I have taken my dogs there in the past and every thing was good, we haven't needed their services in the past few years, obviously things have changed. When I called to speak to the office manager I was told "sure, may I ask who is calling and what this is about" when I told the girl on the phone, suddenly the office manager was no longer available.

The fact that they are under new management is very obvious. Just not the same level of service As years prior. Nothing but a huge money grab! Do not buy your prescriptions there. Prices are triple of what other pharmacies charge.

We are new to Ridgetop Animal Hospital, and I wish we had found them years ago! The front desk staff is very helpful (Jake in particular is so positive and friendly!) They answer their phones live (no "text us first" or "leave a voicemail" first...you actually get a live person), which is a breath of fresh air!! The vets have been knowledgeable, accepting of our many questions, and incredibly responsive when we had post surgery questions (special mention goes to Dr. Fulcher and Dr. Garcia). And the vet techs are wonderful. Overall, we've had a great experience and appreciate all they have done for our little pup. :0)

They were able to see my dog quickly and gave him the best care possible. I'm impressed with their care, I feel like they treated my dog as their own. Happy to go back again.

1) They claimed I missed an appointment for my two dogs, even after I called in to cancel 24 hours earlier because I was in the hospital. 2) When informed of their error, the woman on the phone copped an attitude with me, telling me rudely that I was stuck with the fee ($150 per pet!) because they had no record of my call (how convenient). 3) They're incredibly expensive - I have taken my dogs to another vet and had better service for half the price. Even the emergency vet in Poulsbo charged the same price as I was charged for a regular non-emergency visit at Ridgetop. 4) They will pressure you into unnecessary vaccinations and procedures because you were a few days or so over an artificial deadline... especially when the reason you're supposedly past due because they didn't have open appointments untli that date. To be clear: You're told to schedule a follow-up appointment. The receptionist schedules you a few days further out because nothing is available. You come in for the follow-up, and suddenly all the tests are too old and need to be re-done - for $300 more. What a scam! Never ever again will I set foot in their offices. I suggest you do the same.

I'd like to start off by saying that in years past, I was mostly pleased with the level care provided to my pets with just a couple of minor concerns. I have no idea what is going on with them right now, but buyer beware. I have gone to Ridgetop Animal Hospital for many years with personal pets and foster pets. I have paid them thousands and thousands of dollars for surgeries tests, cremations and well-pet visits over many years. BUT, they have been short-staffed for several years now causing a month or more for an office visit. My dog (a Ridgetop established pet) had a large mass on her hind leg and Ridgetop was unable to see her for a month unless I wanted to pay premium for an urgent care visit. Instead, Bayview Veterinary Hospital was able to see her on short notice for a needle biopsy even though my dog was not an established pet. The complete records following that visit were provided to Ridgetop to review to see if they could do the surgery to remove a soft tissue sarcoma. I received a phone call saying they needed a picture. I responded by letting them know the picture + measurements were included in all of her medical records that I had already provided. The receptionist called me to relay a message from the vet that the records indicated a recommendation from Bayview requested a "board certified surgeon". I asked the receptionist to have the vet call me back because the records don't state anywhere about "board certified" and reminded her that Ridgetop has performed several challenging surgeries on my pets previously and I had questions that I wanted to ask. The receptionist then called me back again to say that if I wanted them to do the surgery, then I would need to schedule a consultation to discuss whether or not they could even do the surgery. First available consultation appointment is a little over a month from today. I told the receptionist that, that is not what I asked. I asked for the courtesy of a call back from the veterinarian so that I may ask questions of a veterinary professional, not a receptionist. She told me that this is how they do business and to let her know if I wanted to schedule an appointment. IMO, nope, absolutely not. I am appalled at the exceedingly low level of consideration and lack of customer service provided. My pets are clearly nothing more than $$$ to Ridgetop and an inconvenience. Their standard of care has sunk to an all-time low, IMO. UPDATE 4/27/23: I received a letter today advising me that they are cancelling our client-patient relationship because they arbitrarily and capriciously deem me to be "disrespectful" and "combative". Apparently they only appreciate and welcome positive reviews and give zero consideration for constructive criticism and equally have no desire to learn from their mistakes or even recognize them for that matter. Everyone should keep that in mind lest they "cancel" you and your pets too.

OMG. I recently moved to Silverdale and I went to Ridgetop Animal Hospital to establish new veterinary care for my cat and my dog. What a joke! My pets mean the most to me. Over the past year, I have spent nearly 10k in veterinary care. My dog has been undergoing chemotherapy for incurable carcinoma, and my cat underwent surgery as he had bladder stones and he requires a special urinary control diet. While attempting to establish new veterinary care, I had two animal hospitals send over all veterinary records that detailed copious notes of each animal's medical conditions and treatments (past and present). A recent Chewy order to be delivered with prescription food for my cat encountered delayed shipping. To that point, I did not have enough cat food on hand to feed my cat while waiting for the delivery. To be specific, I was two cans of cat food short. Let me repeat "TWO CANS." Now that Ridgetop Animal Hospital registered my pets as clients, and in possession of all their medical records, i requested to pick up two cans of the prescription cat food for my cat. To my dismay, they would not fulfill the request without a prescription from my cat's vet. My cat's vet spoke to Ridgetop Animal Hospital personnel to give them verbal consent and acknowledgement of my cat's prescription food and they would not accept the vet's verbal prescription, and said they need a written prescription. WTF. They have all the medical records detailing my cat's surgery and dietary needs and yet, they would not allow me to get two cans of cat food without a written prescription. Please note that this shirade between two animal hospitals and myself went on for over an hour. In frustration and bewilderment, I cancelled my request to have Ridgetop Animal Hospital assigned as primary veterinarian care for my animals. How can I entrust an animal hospital to care for pets when they lack the ability to help when they have all the evidence??? Goodness sakes, I only needed TWO CANS of cat food. One would think I was trying to order drugs or something. In the end, I went to Banfield Animal Hospital at a local PetSmart. They called my cat's veterinarian, and they received a verbal prescription for prescription cat food. Without frustration, I got my two cans of cat food with a smile. Shame on you Ridgetop Animal Hospital.

I've been taking my dogs to Ridgetop for over 13 years, but after yesterday's experience I will never go back. Dr Alvarez was the least compassionate, borderline hostile vet I've ever dealt with. She never took a moment to introduce herself to my dog or to try to make him feel at ease before she roughly started to examine him. He has always been calm at the vet, but Dr Alvarez's behavior has changed all of that. Since Ridgetop sold out to a large California based corporation they have a constantly rotating staff of vets and assistants who have zero real life experience in the profession. Find a locally owned clinic with an experienced vet. That's what I plan to do.

We have had rude comments and threats of full charges if I don’t confirm appointments. We missed one and we charged full price not $25 like the website says. Prices have increased which were not mentioned in the practice, on website, app or by email. I’m in there weekly for a sick cat. It wasn’t mentioned once yo me. Being rushed out of an appointment when the vet had not shared the blood work results. She briefly went over them as I was checking out. Huge turnover in vets and staff. Since the original owner left, this practice has gone down hill. Sadly after 20 years with this practice we will not return.

Dr. Alvarez was very caring and helpful to both my dogs that were being seen for a checkup. She was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for my concerns on my dog’s heart condition. I highly recommend seeing her at Ridgetop. Thank you Dr. Alvarez.

I wish I remembered the gals name who took us back. She was hands down amazing. My dog was previously labeled aggressive at a vet after anesthesia. He apparently growled. He is nervous and gets scared and because of his breed he tends to get a bad wrap. The office knew this when I booked his appt and made me feel so calm. Doctor Emily really took her time and my dog had NO issues at all. He barked once when he was scared when a worker looked in the window because he was spooked but that was it. One bark. He got shots, had a nasal vaccine and a full check and was great. I am so glad I switched offices and have no anxiety about returning.

I brought my dog here for over 10 years. I don't know what has happened, but the last three years they have been horrible. I get a different vet every time I come in. They don't review records or know your dogs history and medical conditions before their exam. They just recommend expensive tests that have already been done. It takes weeks to get an appointment and the wait in their parking lot is ridiculous. I waited in the parking lot last winter over an hour past my appointment time. Last week I took my dog in and the vet prescribed eye drops. When I got home I found that the $17 drops were within just a couple week of the expiration date. I called them the next day and they said no problem, I could stop by and they would give me a new bottle. I sat in their parking lot for 45 minutes. Three different staff picked up the call and just kept putting me back on hold. Finally they said the prescription was ready and asked what credit card I wanted to use, I stated I was under the impression there would be no charge. The staff got nasty with me and asked "what makes you think you can have them for free". Then staff said they talked to Dr. Fulcher who said no, I can just use the expiring drops. The staff were very rude and short with me. I told them to tell the Dr I have had enough and I will never be back. The next week I got a letter from them stating I was "combative and disrespectful" and they terminated our vet/client relationship. Well no, I terminated it. I wonder if they are aware of the level of poor customer service by their staff, or if they care at all. Or, if they are aware clients are told one thing over the phone and then say something else later. Are they aware we sit and wait for extended periods in our cars well past appointment times? They certainly do not have a relationship with us. They don't know my pet from one visit to the next or bother to read her chart. They are only concerned about making money off their clients not the health and well-being of our pets. If you care about your pet, do not use this clinic.

I have been very happy with the care up to today! Over a week ago i came into the clinic with my dog for his yearly shots. During the visit they were nice to look at him as an emergency visit as he has developed large masses on his body. During the visit they took a sample of the mass and send it over to an outside lab. As i have NOT heard from them for over a week, i decided to give them a call. The first time when i called the receptionist has informed me that they called me and left a message, that i have not received. Further she started to read the notes and all over sudden stopped saying that she will have to get a doctor to call me back , with no ETA on when that will happen. At first i said ok and said my good bye. Few min later i called back and asked one more time if she can provide me some sort of information in regards to the result or see if any doctor is available, even a vague answer would suffice at that moment. The receptionist didn't even try to check if anyone is available just told me that they are running appointments and no one is available and hung up on me. Just an fyi, i was not rude to her in any way, i was just asking for answers. I feel like after paying $178 for the biopsy i deserve an answer, and NOT the poor customer service that i got. I called back and got to speak with a different receptionist, she claimed that she was the head receptionist. She still didn't provide any answers. So after the 3 calls i was left worried in tears and a sour taste in my mouth.

This place is amazing! Bring your pets here. Don't go to VCA they are terrible! Especially Dr. McVein she made my kids cry. Ridge top made it all better. Brest vet ever!
