DO NOT LET THIS SHOP TEAR APART YOUR TRANSMISSION! If you drive a high mileage vehicle and you think it is bad, start looking for a replacement right away from a different shop. $4500 to replace a transmission (as we were initially quoted) for a 2003 Ford Explorer for with a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty (not a good warranty) should be doable (their estimate of $5,622 would work out to 23 cents a mile) . You let them tear it apart for some reason you are going to get the bait and switch. It cost us $380 to tow this vehicle away in addition to the $800.

They are terrible. They forgot to put a part on our transmission. Almost a year of driving thinking something else was wrong and we found out they didn’t put a part on. Days of being told they were fixing it but didn’t. Then they charged us to put the parts on they forgot. What a joke. Don’t ever use them!Service: Transmission

Overcharged, didn't fix the original problem, took a long time, and spun me a tale of lies to string me along.

Knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to diagnose the issue with my corporate truck quickly. Not pushy at all, did the work they recommended and didn’t try to push anything extra.

My car broke down at the 76 station next door and thankfully I was able to get it to their parking lot and Mike took the time out of his busy schedule to help me and made me feel at ease in a stressful situation. He explained to me what was wrong and assured me he could fix it. He honestly made a customer for life because of his kindness. Thank you and your team for making what could have been the worst day into a great one!

I have given a 5 star review for this shop before but my last experience with them was far from good, it was down right horrible, see below for the email I sent to them a long while ago, I never got a reply.Mike,I wanted to take a moment to describe my experience at your shop. I had a horrible experience due to your staff snapping 2 bolts off in my exhaust header with very little communication and ultimately having to spend my time and extra money out of my pocket to make the repair myself in my driveway. I cannot and will not recommend your services to anyone in the future. If you care to read the rest of this email, see details below and attached images.Hearing that your technician snapped both bolts in my header I headed down to see for myself, this was after 6 hours going by with no communication from your staff, I had to call in to ask for an update. What I saw was your tech drilling the bolts out to a bigger size and the hole he was drilling was not concentric to the existing holes, I pointed this out to you while I was there. It was already the end of the day and I wasn’t expecting not having my car the next day, your staff was not helpful in my need for transportation for work the next day and told me I had to pay for more labor costs in exchange for a rental. This was unacceptable and I walked away hoping my vehicle would be repaired in a timely manner the next day. I had to scramble to get a rental that night and pay out of pocket. The next day I waited till 11am expecting I would receive a call with a status, I did not. I called and asked about the status of my vehicle and your staff had to get an update so I asked for them to send me a text with an update. I received a message that my vehicle would be completed a little after noon. So I left work so I could turn in the rental and headed to the shop. I paid and went out to start my car, on start up I heard a loud TIK TIK TIK TIK TIK, I immediately turned it off knowing it was an exhaust leak. I went in to talk to your staff and Paul came out and listened to the sound, it was obvious the exhaust leak was right where the exhaust header met the down pipe, the same location where the bolts were snapped off, he said I would have to leave it at the shop or bring it in another day. In frustration I left and headed home.At home I looked over my vehicle knowing that your staff did an inspection of fluids and filters and found the intake air boxes were not connected properly, I know these were properly set before because I installed new filters the week prior and ensured everything was put together properly, see attached images. At this point I decided I was not taking my vehicle back to your shop so I decided to attack the exhaust leak myself in my drive way. Taking apart the connection at the header to downpipe, I was appalled by what I found. Due to the new bigger holes drilled into my header not being concentric with the original holes, the flange holes on the downpipe did not match up, the bigger bolts installed by your staff filled the flange holes with almost no clearance. One of the bolts was driven into the header with the downpipe flange not aligned precisely and caused marring of the threads that stripped the bolt, see attached image. The other bolt hole was not drilled all the way through so the bolt could not be driven all the way down. Both of these issues caused the flange to not sit flush against the header and would not allow the connection to be tightened down. I ended up drilling out the flange holes to allow for proper alignment and purchasing new bolts, see attached. I put the joint back together and the exhaust leak is gone.If you took the time to read this entirely, I appreciate it and hope that your staff can learn from this experience.Service: Transmission

I am very satisfied with the work done by Silverdale Transmissions & Automotive. They were very knowledgeable about transmission issues and diagnosing the problems. Since the front brakes were due for a change (which I knew was getting close from an inspection last year), they did that work also. I had my car back in a few days and it seems to be working great, and comes with a warranty for the repair. They were able to do a transmission rebuild, which was a savings in cost. It appeared that most repair shops would just remove and replace a transmission, at a higher cost. They have been In Silverdale for a while and seem to be honest and glad to discuss your repair options.
