Just brought my kitty here after she got her paw cut on some glass. After we walked in we waited in the kitty waiting area with calming Feliway fleece blankets for patients to use. We waited a short time and then they took us to a private room to wait while our kitty was seen in the back by the vet. The staff here are so kind. They patched my kitty up and sent us home in much shorter time than I expected. I’m so glad to have this hospital nearby. Hopefully I won’t have to come back due to any emergencies—but if I do, I know my pets will be in good hands at this clinic and it’ll be my first choice to visit. Thank you so much to the staff here!

I cannot say enough good things about VCA Kitsap. I switched my dog to seeing them after a couple of experiences in the Emergency side. My dog swallowed rubber toys- TWICE. They went above and beyond to try to do everything they could to help her pass one of the toys naturally. They walked her around the building all day and saved me so much money and issues by avoiding her undergoing surgery. They always greeted her as if she were apart of their family. Dr. Blair always remembered my dog and I know she saw so many, it didn’t seem possible. I did have to put my dog down last week and that’s why I’m leaving a review. The techs were so kind. They put a heart on my dogs catheter wrappings. They gave her all the love and treats. When it came time for Dr. Blair to assist, she explained step by step what was going to happen and then explained as she was going it as well so I knew what was to come seeing as this was my first experience. It’s not an experience I want to relive, but I would go to VCA a hundred times over if I had to. Dr. Blair even teared up afterwards when I was crying and had the kindest things to say about my baby. I had her cremated. They took some fur and placed it in an envelope. They took an impression of her paw for me to keep. The cremation box was beautifully placed in a velvet bag. And then there was a card from Dr. Blair again with more kind words. I’m so thankful this is where my dog went. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

As someone who works in vet med, I was panicked to be on the other side. I typically handle everything animal myself with the help of my lovely coworker and clinic. When my cat suffered adverse reactions from her treatment for toxicity and began having increased respiratory effort and rate, with vomiting and nausea, I knew I had to get her to the closest facility. VCA as a whole was so lovely, from the receptionists, to the assistants and LVTs, to the doctor. It’s hard being on the other side of the table and I am forever grateful for the urgency and detailed work everyone put into Ella. I genuinely don’t think thanking them enough would express my gratitude to this staff and facility. Thanks to them, my lemon of a cat is feeling so much better and is relaxing comfortably at home.So thank you again to everyone at VCA from our family and Ella, we so appreciate you!

VCA Central Kitsap is a well run veterinary clinic with top notch veterinarians and technicians. The have provided compassionate care for my flighty GSD for several years, and always spend the time to make friends with my doggo and try to put her at ease. Dr Purbaugh and Dr Joynt are the best!

My first review was over 6 years ago with my dog that was suffering severe food allergies and skin allergies & was in terrible shape. They treated her and after treating her then following the care directions at home after a month she was like a new dog again. Compassionate and caring staff. Since then I've been taking my cat and unfortunately had emergency and they treated him and he healed up and is his normal kitty self again! You can see and feel the passion they have for animals and it's wonderful. Unfortunately when I took my cat, it became busy after we got checked in and it's based on the condition of the animal as it should be but we waited 6 hours also due to being a weekend so that was the only downside as it was a long wait!

We lost our sweet boy Zion on December 23rd, 2023 and the staff at VCA was so kind and compassionate. We got a call about a week after to pick up his ashes and truly, they really do go all out for pets who pass away. The items we received were very thoughtful and made our grieving process easier. We’re very thankful we chose VCA to take care of our boy after his passing and would recommend them to everyone.

I just saw Dr. Joynt , my cat has what is called the rodent virus it’s actually an autoimmune response to an unknown irritant. She has swelling and infection of her upper lip. Dr. Joynt explained how steroids weren’t necessary most of the time and that the antibiotic should clear it up. She also explained that flea treatment for indoor cats is a good idea for cats that are having sensitive allergies. I really appreciate her taking the time to explain everything and sharing her personal stories about how she cares for her own cats. The staff here was so nice and punctual, great place. Also the urgent care appointment is a life saver! Thank you so much!

So first off, the bad stuff:It's expensive. Getting a non urgent appointment that isn't 2 months booked out is nearly impossible. On to the good:The doctors know their stuff. They are professional, and they obviously care about the outcomes and well being of their patients. I have been there frequently due to one of my cats having a chronic health condition and I really appreciate all they have done for him. Dr Cook, Dr Joynt, and Dr Purbaugh as well as all the support staff have been amazing. Cannot thank them enough for the excellent care they have provided to my baby.

I moved to Washington about 2 months ago. I brought my dog with me because he’s my family, but one morning I saw that his eyes were droopy and he had green stuff coming out and he just look miserable. This very unusual for him and I was very concerned and was worried and was a hot mess. Like any normal dog mom would do is call a vet, well since I’m new to the state. Every vet near me plus some in different towns were ALL full and couldn’t take him. You know living in a small town where that never happens and then moving to here, where you have to wait for hours or they can’t take you because there full is very SCARY AND STRESSFUL.But long story sort this place, VCA Central Kitsap Animal Hospital was available and could take my dog. I’m very grateful they helped my dog Bear and let me know he’s okay and it was just allergies. (FYI my dog has never had allergies before). Thank you guys!

Love this vet. All the doctors I've taken my animal too have been nothing but wonderful. This is the only vet I've been to that didn't suggest drugging my dog or putting him down for his behavior. (I've tried 7 other vets between Silverdale and Bremerton) They have worked with his challenges and are very patient. They are more pricey than other vets I've been to but, they are also upfront with their prices, you can pick and choose what you want to do. I personally haven't been pressured to do anything with my animals, I've only been given suggestions, even been offered different more affordable options outside their clinic.I am frustrated that the appointment times are booked out so far, but I also know this isn't their fault.

We lost our sweet, old family dog yesterday. VCA staff were competent, communicative, and compassionate. They were the best part of an awful day, and I wholeheartedly recommend them for emergency pet care.

Took my sick dog to VCA at 12:30 PM. Sat in waiting room until 5:30 PM until I was told the day vet was too busy to attend to my dog and was asked to come back at 7:00 PM to see night vet. Was called and told to bring dog in at 9:00 PM. When I arrived in the parking lot at 9:00 PM I was called and told to bring dog in 10:30 PM. Apparently VCA can only see one animal at a time. I suggest a blinking red sign that says CLOSED, so people and their pets don’t wast half a day waiting to be seen.

Honestly wouldn't even give this place a one star it is absolutely the worst place to ever bring ur pet. They would rather terminate. Ur pets life then to find out fact. Infact once they did find out. What was wrong the answer was to still terminate. When all it was was a simply kitten tummy ache and the kitten is doing just fine they first assumed the diagnoses ASSUMED and. Didn't run test but yet still charged 600$for assumtion then. Once. The family requested. Test they charged another 500$. Just for X-rays. This place by far is a joke and shouldn't even be in our town. Or in business for that matter it makes my sick just thinking of all the animal owners who. Believes. This place assumtions and terminated their pets life for some thing that was most likely nothing. I haven't heard one good thing about this place and I will be going beyond just. Giving a feedback. Cuz this is so inhuman of a place.
