Terrible they canceled my appointment that I set a month and a half out because they messed up my email and number and couldn't get ahold of me.

I brought my cat in here for an annual check-up and shots. I've been here once before and met with Dr. Ryan who was very pleasant. For today's appointment, I was assigned Dr. Dammeyer & frankly, I was disappointed in my experience. While the check-in was quick, they take you into an exam room, but it's treated like another waiting room, because the vet tech took my cat into the back for the actual appointment (exam, shots). I don't doubt that they did the work they said they did, but it's a little unnerving to not know exactly what the exam consisted of. I was not told ahead or after what shots he was given specifically by either the vet tech or the vet. My main concern, however, was Dr. Dammeyer's manner. He came in, shook my hand, and then told me that my cat needed dental work (normal for his age) and said "poor (cat's name), his belly is so much bigger than his chest." My cat is a breed that is known for being round/barrel-shaped and large. I'm not saying that he couldn't stand to lose a little weight, but Dr. Dammeyer seemed incredibly alarmed at his weight and told me to cut his food immediately by 25% even though everything I've read has stated that reducing a cat's food intake drastically can have severe health ramifications. Furthermore, he didn't spend any time in explaining why his weight was a concern. They did no blood work and my cat is very playful and spry despite his size. The icing on the cake for me, though, was when Dr. Dammeyer started to explain about "calories in / calories out." My cat being overweight isn't a lack of knowledge about how calories work. I would have really appreciated if Dr. Dammeyer hadn't been so off-putting and sought to maybe investigate what I've tried diet-wise to help my cat and given me some tips. He also didn't tell me even a range about how much my cat should weigh, so I'm not sure when to stop the diet or how much weight loss is too rapid. Overall, a poor experience for 10 mins and $200 and I will be making sure none of my appointments are booked with Dr. Dammeyer going forward.

I am beyond pleased. I was very nervous about my dog and his behaviors at times. They were so understanding, quick and compassionate.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is definitely for the status conscious pet "haute couturists". Something which we are not - we like to adopt our dogs from kennels and go straight for the mixed breeds that nobody wants. Our current dog came to us at two years old and very abused. He is mostly a lover now but occasionally gets apprehensive. Trying to make a repeat appointment for shots, I was just told that they could not give us such because they could not board him- which I did not ask for?? They accused our dog of being aggressive, which is a rather ridiculous statement of incompetence because he has seen quite a few different vets in Germany and the US who all actually knew how to handle a scared dog . All of these vets managed to establish rapport and take off the muzzle after a short sniff. Plus, sitting next door during his prior treatment here, I would have heard any major growl, bark, or acting up from our dog etc. I know my dog after all. All this came rather surprisingly because they did charge +$ 750 for one visit due to diarrhea. While we do not mind spending money on our pet, we do expect complimentary standard of veterinary service, to include knowledge of how to approach a muzzled mutt and maybe some judgement-free friendliness towards their owners. Therefore, if you seek a fancy office with an upper crust flair and price tag, this is the place for you. If you are looking for knowledgeable and caring dog treatment stay away.

Brought in my 3 pups before traveling/moving out of state. We've been here a couple of other times. The intake is super quick, I didn't wait more than 5 min which I truly appreciated with the chaos that was occurring in the small waiting area. When I was brought back I spoke to one of the vet techs for my overall concerns, topics for the appt. It felt very rushed and she is very rude and condescending. The blond receptionist could definitely learn some soft skills but the other one is much nicer. The receptionist gave me a hard time about asking for the free sample they had offered me.I'm not sure that I like that they take your pets from you to the back. I can see the pros on their side, efficiency etc... but overall I don't prefer that. The vet Dr.Ryan was very professional, nice, and explained everything well. This place is super pricey which is to be expected from a VCA 'corporate' type establishment. But almost $50 for a 2-min nail trim!!!! My jaw dropped on that one. It was my first time getting my dogs nails trimmed and since my dog nail clippers were already with our packed items, I thought I'd get it taken care of. But wow I really was expecting somewhere in the $15-25 max. Ironically, that was the only thing I didn't get the price for ahead of time so that's partially my fault.Overall, if I were staying in the area I would probably look for a different vet establishment. The vet was okay but the attitude of the staff and pricing is not worth it.

Very sadly, I have to completely change my rating. After posting the below 4 star with stated negative experience attached, which i wrote in order to seek help and would have happily changed once that help was received to five stars, Harmony actually severely lashed out at me. Attached screenshots of her responses and most of the email exchange. Basically, it turns out Harmony is not even interested in talking to me but simply felt she had the authority and right to dump me as a client, because she felt I had bad mouthed one of her staff by leaving the previous review. I simply recounted events. In total honesty. And was subsequently accused of being a terrible person, essentially. The whole experience was actually somewhat traumatizing since it was so blatantly unfair and unjustified. It was never for a moment about any amount of impatience on my part, that is fabricated and false. I was extremely patient and friendly with your staff at all times, even Kiana. Despite her being so incredibly unprofessional. I was very patient about the fact that I submitted a request to you for apporval for a pancreatic enzyme, three times, and was refused by your clinic. Each time because you misread what the item was, which is rather shocking. Even more wild how when I spoke to Kiana, DURING our convo, three times she simply did not listen to me and I had to repeat what the item was. Not panacur. Nope. Not proviable. nope. Nope. At no time was I ever trying to discuss anything with Kiana which I should have discussed with dr. as you wrote in your email Harmony. I truly have no idea what you mean. I simply asked why the item had been refused again and was calling to give a heads up i would submit it again. That's it. It was not me asking her questions. It was me telling her a message which she was too distracted and impatient with ME to even hear. For God's sake! The level gaslighting is actually genuinely disturbing! This insane and intense gaslighting response I experienced from Harmony felt like outright discrimination, which is why at one point I said I would file a complaint with the BBB just to be sure the owners were made aware of events. (Ie the doctors.) Maybe the were. or, to file a civil complaint for discrimination. At which point Harmony accused me of only ever being after money!! Ha! Un-freaking-believable. Can you actually imagine? The impropriety. Holy cow. You know, it is apparent to me know why the original interaction with Kiana occurred now. Clearly, her example given by you of how to treat clients is well below par in fact. Top to bottom issue here. Yes, Harmony, right. I was only ever after money. LOL. that must be why I went to such lengths to simply be heard by a manager and to relay my experience in full. Or why I sought care at your clinic, an hour's drive from me. Not because I thought Dr Ryan and you were the best. But because I wanted to fake a bad interaction with your staff and then sue. WOWWWW. Yes indeed. That must why I went absolutely out of my way to preserve my patronage at your clinic. It must be also why I included such glowing comments about the very person who then decided to attack my character, therein devalue, and then discard me.Wake up. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I was not even reached out to via phone to hear my side and speak directly. Dear yelpers- go ahead and see the screenshots and decide for yourself!

I called this morning and explained that I'd been there multiple times before and that my dog was exhibiting a problem that might indicate internal bleeding from my brief internet search. I was simply told their next available appointment was next week. When I asked if the situation could wait a week I was told that if I thought it was urgent I should take him to an urgent care hospital. I would have preferred at least a hint of empathy or 'let me ask someone if this should be considered a serious matter'. Or even 'I'm sorry we don't have anything sooner.' Without attempting to sound sarcastic, it felt like I was speaking to someone at an auto repair shop.

We though we found our “vet” after living in Europe for 14 years with recommendations from our family and friends but apparently we didn’t! We called to set up a boarding for our dog and when we asked, the person taking our phone call first said “yes” and then asked for our last name and put us on hold. She came back on and said “no” we don’t offer boarding (which is a complete and utter lie as we asked in person and it’s on their website). When we asked “why” she just ignored the question and directed us to 5 other boarders! Ok then! Not only have we told our family, we just told our friends who agreed to find another vet/boarder! I’ll make it a mission to tell everyone of your poor customer service! If you allow your folks to lie or you find it reasonable to reject folks bc they have a European accent, then this tells us of your integrity! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!

Most recently I told them about how I thought my dog has burned paws and instead of calling me back to try to get me in, they asked for pix and then I sent pix and they still didn't see him (or even give feedback on the pix). Thanks for wasting an entire day - this isn't a random walk in - its an emergency with your patient. Everywhere online says burned paws need to be seen asap and are important. If he couldn't be seen you could've at least told me if the pics were of burned paws and what I could do. 1 star for the way I've been treated from the very beginning and their blame game implying I've done anything wrong

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR A VET! The entire staff here at this location is just *chefs kiss*. My cat is your stereotypical mean cat to these beautiful people. Each time he is brought in, he is just the worst. AND STILL, they are so kind to him and always greeting him with cute little "hello Mr Grumpypants!" & treat him like a king. I am also a nervous ball of anxiety when going (because my cat is the spawn of Satan when he arrives to the vet), and they ALWAYS ease my anxieties & answer all of my silly questions. I cannot recommend this vet more!!!!

I adopted a dog from the humane society and went straight to VCA to schedule a wellness check with Dr. Blair. She is wonderful and understands the deep connection between pets and their humans. I know our little guy is in great hands.

the best ever of any i have been to. they usually have an opening sooner than anyone else to see your pet. they really care and go to the max without overcharging for unneeded tests. banfield wanted to put my cat down years ago because i could not afford all the unneeded tests they wanted to do. i was later told they are known as " money inc" vca is not like that at all. they discuss everything with you and let you know the best choice and help with the decision. the staff and everyone is just a really animal loving, caring group of people. you can't go wrong here.
