Every time I mail something from South Bend it gets to its destination quicker than any of the other local post offices. Naselle I have to tack on 2-3 extra days for a package to get to the east coast. South bend always comes through and faster than usual. The staff have always been polite and nice. My favorite post office in the county.

They can't be bothered to have postal routes like the rest of the country has had for 150 years, so you can only get mail by renting a P.O. box. Then if you actually have packages sent to you there, they write angry messages on your package and threaten to return it. So...how exactly are we supposed to get anything delivered to us? Sigh... So unnecessary, strange, and unprofessional

We've lived in south bend for a year and live 2 blocks away, when we set up our mail box we didn't get treated very nicely but we thought maybe it was just that day or something. Unfortunately no we go here frequently because well we can't get packages out our address because that's not how south bend runs. I had a package delivered over the weekend which they aren't open (I'm not sure why at least for a couple hours on Sat would be great) and it was a holiday Mon, my packages have been delivered on Sat but they told us they haven't gone through stuff yet and to hopefully come back before 5 and it might be there. We checked at 2pm for the packages which is child's diapers. Umm no it is there at least you could check. I wish I could say it's gotten better since we moved here but it's been nothing but disrespectful and we are always very nice and understanding but there's no reason for it.

They were rude to me. I moved to an apartment building and i accidentally had something shipped for my appartment and they were really nasty when they told me that because i dont have a po box or anything i shouldn't have anything shipped to where I live and next time they are just going to ship everything back.. her attitude just saying this was absolute hatred

Most times I'm happy with the service at this post office. Staff is friendly and helpful. However I recently made my rent payment as usual online through Bill Pay and my landlord did not receive it. The money was taken out of my account and I had to stop pmt on the check and re-write another. It took 5 days for the bank to credit back the original amount which was difficult for me as my bank balance doesn't usually run large enough to afford two rent checks. Finally my landlord let me know she received the original check and showed me the envelope which had writing on it saying 'placed on wrong mailbox'. The envelope had been opened by whoever received it and was taped shut again. In 13 years I've never been late with my rent and I was not a happy camper!

No supervision of the workers, people off the street can wander into the postal area, especially on wknds, to visit, trying to get stamps, or mail pckg, is a hassel too, you have to wait 4 the clerks to get done talking with their boyfriends, or local idiots, before you get waited on, Very unprofessional!

They don't deliver mail, and they try to rent you a PO box when their "general delivery" is a free in-house service they also offer. This is a scam.
