The daycare area has an employee that is extremely concerning. Her name is Jinx and she has black hair with a shaved head. She works in the evenings. I have had a good experience with every other employee there except this one. There is two areas the kids play in the back room with toys and the playground area. My child likes to play in the playground area before entering into the play room. Some employees say there is no supervisor in that area so they have one person stay in the play area and another employee comes out to the playground area. This has never been an issue until my experience with Jinx. Upon arrival I requested to have my daughter play in the playground area. Jinx said “No there is no supervisor” so I responded ok can a supervisor please come out? There were three employees total in the daycare area one holding an infant. Jinx responded with a simple “no” and no further explanation on why this cannot happen. I said ok well if I force my daughter into the play room she will cry. I brought her into the playroom and my daughter had a meltdown. I exited the area and watched from the waiting area. Jinx was unaware that I was observing from afar. As my daughter cried and screamed pleading to be let out of the playroom Jinx stood above her staring with a completely cold expressionless face. I walked up the playground area standing outside and said to her “Can you please help her? Or bring her out here to play? You’re just staring at her!” Jinx YELLED at me from across the play area “I’m NOT STARING AT HER!” At this point my daughter was scared and screaming out of fear. She opened the door and my daughter came running out to me hysterically. She stood out in the playground area finally and said she will watch her. My daughter who was inconsolable at this point would just look at her and start crying. She felt extremely unsafe, understandably when you have someone staring at you while you only need comfort and help. Complete lack of compassion towards my child which is extremely alarming when working in childcare. I grabbed daughter and asked for her name. I walked to the front counter and asked for the supervisor. I was handed the supervisors contact card, and was told she was out of office. I called a left a very heated message and was promptly called back by Deborah. She was very understanding and compassionate to my situation and let me know the situation will be addressed. I told her I am unwilling to bring my child back if she is put into care with that employee, unless she will longer be there. I was told she normally works in the mornings, sometimes evenings. Deborah also let me know training is to be taking place soon. While I appreciated that, you cannot teach compassion. Something she was lacking entirely which gives me such a bad feeling that she is taking care of innocent children. If you do go to this location and see this employee there please consider this review.

I will start by saying, I love the YMCA! I took babysitter safety courses through them as a kid, did Camp Reed, and had my birthday party there shortly after it was built in 2000.Now, as an adult, we are members who frequent the gym and child watch, the open family swim, and the rock climbing wall. All of those experiences have been GREAT.AND! Their swim lessons are atrocious. My then 2 and 4 yr kids did lessons a year ago, and are now in classes as 3 and 5 year olds. The classes are mostly run by teenagers. I have no problem with that. That is a great job for a teenager. And also - the Y MUST train their employees to be better teachers. I have watched for many weeks as there is a different teacher every single week for an 8 week session. (This scares my kids when it's a stranger every time!) Teenagers who ask the PARENTS, "What should I do with them...?" Wasting 35 minutes out of a 40 minute class just talking to the kids and swimming around themselves. Starting class 12 minutes late to a 30 minute class. Unacceptable. Most of the classes for levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 have largely looked the same (with a couple of exceptions of exceptional lessons from substitute teachers). That is not encouraging! A swim lesson for "water acclimation Level 1" for a 2 year old should look nothing like "stroke introduction Level 4" for a 5 year old.As a teacher myself, I am BEGGING the YMCA to please train their teachers and raise the bar. As a parent to three little swimmers, I am BEGGING the YMCA to improve the quality of their swim lessons for the safety of my children and the wasted money leaving my wallet.

My own room with hand dryer, hot hot shower, toilet skin soap dispenser and no one able to break the lock. I already love this place, glad I became a member.

Went on a day pass. Experienced nothing pleasant. Front Desk was rude and was very pushy. Aquatics lifeguards were rude when I asked them questions and would ignore them or tell me to leave them alone. Will not be coming back

I have been coming here for almost a year I think or a year. I don't remember but I was here when Victoria, Brittney and the regular day care workers were here. It was literally family. I felt safe leaving my kids at daycare. Since the new year it has become an utter joke. All of the old daycare staff is pretty much gone except for 3 regulars. Because corporate decided that they couldn't bring their kids in with them anymore. Mind you one was breastfeeding her new born baby. Since then the day care has been a swinging door of workers. Everytime I come in it's some new literally kids they hired. Today we came in to a 16 year old working and one of the life guards covering a shift. Not only is it traumatizing for the parents leaving their kids with utter strangers. Your so desperate for workers your hiring ANYONE. How is that safe for MY kids. Your not filtering anyone out. Not only that but it's traumatizing for the kids. They get attached to kids and then the next time we come in they are gone and it's someone new again. Its this constant swinging door. I dont know what the deal is but it needs to stop now or we are leaving the Y and going to airway heights rec center instead. I don't feel safe leaving my kid here anymore. It's unprofessional and it's not safe or supportive emotionally for the parents or the kids. Its a community gym. It used to feel like I had a village when I came here and now its just strangers. We have since switched to the central Y and it's been amazing.

You guys charge $60 a month for one gym membership but can’t get air conditioning in your gyms? Not only is this dangerous but as a member it makes me wonder where all that money goes. The only thing you guys seem to update (here and there) is workout equipment. Safety and comfort of your members should be your number one priority. Bottom line

The reason why I rated the swimming pool a 3 star is because the swimming laps aren't always available to have fun in and the main pool is t even that deep and also the water slide doesn't even turn on most of the time.

Don’t bother trying to swimming laps on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm, they have the entire pool blocked off with the exception of one or two lanes. The only reason I go here still is because they have the cheapest sauna in the valley that I can find. Why even offer a pool to swim laps when you can barely use it?

I love going to the Valley YMCA for the pool. I have an exercise list that I follow on my own at one end of the kiddie pool. The staff, from the front desk, to the lifeguards, to the maintenance guys all greet me with a smile and hello. The facility is clean and well maintained. The pool area has such big windows, even on a cloudy day there's lots of natural light which makes me feel happy. i don't know where the nay-sayers go, but it certainly cannot be this location. I could pay big bucks and join the Spokane Club, but the Y pool is much nicer. Not sure why people complain; maybe they were just having a bad day...

Good lap pool but never consistent with temp. Hot tub it’s way to cold and it’s not very family oriented. I pay how much a month to get turned down for some reason every time I try to bring my child to swim. It’s ridiculous.
