8th person in line at 8am on 9/2/25. App wouldn’t let me select a car. Be prepared for a long wait. One person working the counter. I switched to Enterprise and Hertz a few years ago, Bad mistake trying Avis again.

I very rarely rent vehicles and my experience with this Avis was fine until a week after. Staff was friendly on both ends of the trip. Rented a suburban and it was unwashed, interior was dirty, but it didn’t bother us. After driving for an hour or so, we realized it had two chips in the windshield. (Should have taken pictures apparently) We incurred one more small chip to the windshield during the trip and now I receive a bill for $650 to replace the whole windshield. I feel like they’re trying to take advantage of me. Called customer service who were no help whatsoever. They told me to call the desk directly. Have been trying to call them for a week with no answer.

My family and I are frequent travelers and often rent extra-large SUVs to accommodate our family of six. On a recent trip, we arrived in Spokane much earlier than expected as chance passengers well ahead of our scheduled car rental pickup time.
Thankfully, Bill at the rental counter was a total rockstar. He processed our rental smoothly without any hassle, despite our early arrival. Not only was he incredibly helpful and efficient, but he was also a pleasure to talk to. He was friendly, funny, and just one of those people who makes your day better.
I highly recommend this rental location, and especially Bill. Great service with a great attitude makes all the difference!

I need a receipt from Avis to get re-inbursed from Alaska airlines from cancelling flights & stranding us in seattle causing us to rent a car and drive to Spokane at midnight! I have been calling the Spokane airport Avis phone number- for two days and nobody answers the phone and no receipt was ever sent to my email address so I can turn it in!! I just need anyone from Avis to answer a phone or send me my rental receipt??

This is my very first one star review on the way they served me charge me for an extra day rental that should’ve cost $95 for the day ended up costing me 295 and I had no one to talk to!

OVERCHARGED/TOOK ADVANTAGE/CHARGED FOR ALL OPTIONAL SERVICES WITHOUT DISCUSSING ($122.58 WORTH)
A little backstory. I had a reservation for Alamo that I was supposed to pick up when my plane landed at midnight. By the time we got off the plane and picked up our luggage, it was 12:30am. The Alamo people had left already by the time we arrived, despite being assured by a customer service agent that they would wait because my flight info had been attached to my reservation.
Because Alamo was not there, my fiance and I had no other choice than to find another rental, as we still had an hour drive to our destination. We got in line for Hertz, but they only had a 12 passenger van, and it was not affordable or practical for just the two of us.
So we got in line for Avis/Budget.
The young gentleman said he had a car available and proceeded to rush through the intake, telling us it would be $256 (we picked it up at 12:40am on Saturday, 5/10 and would be returning it the NEXT day, Sunday, 5/11), and that there would be a $200 deposit required that would be returned once the car was returned.
He said that because they were technically closed when he was helping us, that he would have to charge us an extra day. Fine. Whatever. Not sure this is standard but I didn't have a choice. He then proceeded to rush through the signing of the contract (just telling me to sign each page) without going over anything and without asking me if I wanted any of the additional services (insurance, etc.). Because I had been up for almost 24 hours and it was my first rental ever by myself, I figured I wouldn't be taken advantage of and signed the contract. This was on me, and I will fully admit to this. But not ONCE did he offer any additional services or give me a receipt.
When I return the car on Sunday, I had to go to the counter and request a receipt, as I still hadn't gotten one. When I got it, it said that the guy had charged me $122.58 in OPTIONAL products/services that he never, not once, told me or asked me about. He charged me for a loss damage waiver, emergency sickness plan (whatever the hell this is), supplemental liability insurance, and extended roadside assistance. I would have NEVER gotten any of these. My regular insurance would have covered me if I had any issues. I also asked if they did a AAA discount, but he said it only worked if you booked online (not sure if this is true or not, and I haven't verified this).
I don't know if this is a regular practice for Avis, but this is ridiculous and absolutely disgusting. It's nice to know that they take advantage of exhausted (and first time) customers/renters who don't have any other options. I will never, ever again, rent from this company. I will pay extra to stay the night at a hotel rather than rent from this company again. I learned my lesson and will make sure I record any conversation I have with a car rental agent in the future.

Charged me $75 for 9gal of fuel, when in fact the vehicle was returned FULL. Luckily I had gas receipts, video, and photos of dash showing mileage and fuel level. No answer local; 30mins hold with 800 to gt refund. Won't choose Avis at GEG again. Renter beware.

My delta flight was cancelled because of a door seal problem so I had to catch a later flight that would arrive e 2 hrs later. Avis will nor answer the phone. Kept sending me to a voicemail box and then disconnecting. I left a voicemail. And then i get a cancellation email and that I forfeited my rental with no refund. This is not 1924. This is 2024. Totally unacceptable. You are in the customer service business. This is not customer service.

The car was ok. But... I have the bill for $50 and some change, they charged my card $250 and some change. The gal told me that the $200 would go back on my card when I returned the car. It's been 3 weeks and still haven't had the money returned to me. I'm not happy and will never use this company again! Ever!
