I went in here because my work is so wonky I barely get enough hours and I have issues keeping jobs due to personal reasons. I ended up being denied cash benefits and approved for only $23 a month in food. To say the least I was so angry I sat in that place for two hours just for that. This place used to work with me so well but honestly I’m just disappointed.

Poor staffing. My husband lost his job yesterday so now neither of us are currently working and the social worker tried to reduce our food stamps down to $315 for a family of 4 with zero income and verified. Obviously he did it wrong because the second my husband asked to speak to his supervisor the social worker went back to his computer type in some kind of information and boom now receiving $900 in food stamps........ Imagine that.

I wonder if being mean is in the job description. If I got a job here can I just show up drunk and be really rude to people on the phone then throw them on hold forever? Because I envy the worker who picked up my call! She was immediately super rude, asking "what do you want" instead of any greeting I've heard before, not even seeming to take any information down, she threw me on hold.At the time of writing this I've been on hold for 1 hour 58 minutes! :DI'm not hanging up.I'm staying on the line to see if any more 'wonderful' and 'very helpful' employees pick up the phone. Got it on the charger and everything, and in my wait I'm trying to recreate the repeating hold music on my PC.I'll update this with my high-score of waiting time when they finally do pick up or just simply drop the call.

You'd think a government agency like DSHS would of learned by now that they need more employees, that having people with kids should wait for 4 hours because they have no other option in front of tweakers is not okay.At what point will they make it easier on everybody not just the people that need their services but also the employees forced to get thousands of people through the door monthly?Everybody has a negative story about waiting on the phone for 6 hours and still not getting through to somebody. People like me have work and have to take days off for a 20 minute conversation. But I'm in the waiting room for hours upon hours.We need to collectively reach out to our congressman and have them represent us because this is not okay.We need a whole new system this current one is not working

I never go in person and the one time that I do some guy has a freaking enormous temper tantrum freaking out me and everyone there. I was scary.

This is for DDA department of DSHS. I have a child with a disability. I applied for services. After numerous evaluations by medical doctors, psychologists, and educators (you know, people with qualifications) , service was denied. I filed an appeal and had a phone court hearing. Service denied again. I did a second appeal, denied. The judges that handle these cases are corrupt. The representative for DDA, Jennifer Martens lied under oath ,was incredibly aggressive/combative/rude. I guess it was a real triumph for her to take down a mom and her kid. I wonder why these people are so hateful. You will reap what you sow .

Every time you go in, you'll see huge lines of people. Despite this, most of the employees spend about 20-30 minutes between each customer talking about where their kids going to school this year, or where they are all going out for lunch. Do not come here unless you expect to spend at least 4 hours in line getting laughed at by the employees that work there.

They are good with wait times, the line goes fast. I walked in ? scared and hopeful, and walked out satisfied. They are very helpful. I appreciate you DSHS. Real bummer about the EBT amount dropping. But every little bit helps. Thank you DSHS. ? ?

First of all this photo is on Trent Ave, I actually visited the location on Maple Ave so these photos really misrepresent and mislead people, plus I received poor service and was turned away after waiting in line for what seemed like a long time just to be told its something I can take care of online, their websites are just as confusing and dont have or offer enough ADA accessible options for people with disabilities. Lots of misinformation and Parables.

Donald Bush does NOT do his job.You can leave a dozen messages, have the first person you get to on the phone leave him messages, have other people in his department leave him messages, even have an outside source that helps with services leave him messages, and he will NOT call you back. Even though his voicemail says he will in 48 hours, you will be waiting over a month if you want to hear back and that’s assuming that you ever hear back.It’s been a month & at no point ever have we heard from this man who is assigned to this case. My partners foodstamps were approved on 07/05/23 after having applied for foodstamps & ABD the very beginning of July. My partner was told his file/case was being processed as of the 20th of last month. Still we have heard nothing at all from Donald & it hasn’t been approved or denied. We desperately need the assistance with both of us being disabled and unable to work. Now lost out on a month of help because this man won’t do his job or even communicate in any way.At this point I’ll be asking my disability lawyer what to do or if he can contact Donald because this is absolutely ludicrous. It takes all of 1-5 minutes to give someone a basic update or communicate literally anything. Even just saying the office is behind right now is at least something.

Not to bad had to wait about an hour in a half but compared to Californias DSHS building the wait time me us twice as long so i give it a 7 out of 10?

Automated voice message states they will take phone calls from 9-3pm. Been on the phone since 9am and it is now 4:30 still no answer. This is just ridiculous. 7 hrs on hold, no answer at all. Usually someone will answer and transfer to who and what department you need to speak to but this no answer for 7 hrs is crazy.

Employees are very,helpful and considerate. But the way the system works is so messed up. So messed up that I can literally see the stress in the employee's faces. Then the clients take it out on the employees. But all government office's are messed up because the united states of America gives resources to people that never put a dime into it. And that's hurting the American people. It's easier to get assistants when you are a illegal alien then it is for a U.S citizens. Very sad!!!

Amazing customer service! From the front desk, to the ladies who I interviewed with, they were so very kind, helpful and understanding of my situation. I truly appreciate them and their kindness during this hard time.
