I continue to get consistently honest and fair service from 5 mile Auto Center. They do great work, and if by chance they make a mistake, they own it, and fix it. I can't express how appreciative I am to have found a solid set of mechanics and folks to provide me with reliable work on my aging fleet of vehicles. Thanks folks!

We have been with 5 Mile since we retired from the military about 12 years ago. They have always been helpful and informative. They’ve fit us into the schedule when we broke down and provided advice on many occasions. Thanks for everything over the years. You guys are amazing.

They forgot a bolt when they aligned my truck and this eventually happened. Thankfully it failed when I was close to home. The shop I took it to said someone forgot to put the bolt back on when it was aligned last. Now I'm stuck with a $600 bill for front end work due to their mistake. They have not contacted me to make it right, nor have they responded to my better business bureau complaint, so clearly they don't stand behind their work. I'd recommend staying away.
Update: Eventually they did respond, since it was over 12 months since they forgot the bolt they declined to pay for it and BBB did not make them. Congratulations to Five Mile Auto on not making things right.
Super unethical owner of this shop, who also owns a body shop (Flash's Auto Body) - I'd recommend staying away from both. The owner is notorious in Spokane for insanely high turnover because of how poorly he treats his employees. Any current employees, I hope you run before he turns on you like he does everyone else.
Customers, be warned this shop does not stand behind their work.
Update 5/7/25 - five mile, the gift that keeps giving. My tires were bent from the unbolted adjuster sleeve so I had to replace my rims as well.

payed these morons $800 to rethread and clean my spark plug tube's bc one was making a tiking sound from exhaust leaking I go to do my spark plugs a bit down the line and find they did none of one side and barley cleaned the others but that one there will either be free work I supervise or there will be a lawsuit on their doorstep within a few days don't trust always check all work they do

They’ve had our car for over two weeks and still haven’t even hooked it up for a diagnosis because they give other vehicles priority. It’s been there two different times and each time came back in the same bad shape as when we dropped it off. When will my man learn? Don’t take your vehicles here! They just take your money and don’t give two shits or a damn f! We’ve spent THOUSANDS here!

Do not go here!! I spent thousands of dollars and I still haven’t gotten my heating fixed, I keep paying more and it’s still not fixed, I basically just gave them over 3000 for nothing but wasting my time. After a week of my car being with them I called and they said they were behind on order so they haven’t started yet, that would be fine but at least give me my car back for the week if your not going to even work on it also does my appointment mean nothing? If you’re a week behind then schedule a week to catch up instead of wasting my time
Edit: After this review you proceeded to BRIBE ME to take down the review and you’d do a something for free on my next vehicle. You guys are untrustworthy and I definitely know now you guys are just in it for the money and if someone has a bad opinion you’ll just try to sweep it under the rug so no one knows about it.
You guys promised to fix the heat if I got certain parts replaced and that promise went down the drain. If I spend thousands to get the heat fixed and you said it would be fixed, I should not pay a single penny more because you lied to me. You cant just say “oh and another thing needs to be fixed” after all of this when you never told me that to begin with. Next time if you knew something else needed to be fixed then tell me upfront instead of making me pay thousands and then mentioning that there was more to be done later in a reply to this review. You’re clearly lying to try to make this review not seem so bad and you did nothing wrong when you did in fact scam me out of thousands of dollars.

It's not uncommon to see expensive reconditioned/classic cars sitting in the parking lot of Five Mile Auto waiting service/repair. If the owners of these classics entrust Five Mile Auto to perform their maintenance, then that is good enough for me and I haven't been disappointed.

Been to a lot of shops and 5 Mile leaves them all face down in the dirt. Fair and honest along with expert repairs. They stand by their work. What more can you ask for. Give these fella's a try, they won't let you down!!

Darin was helpful, professional, transparent about prices and was able to get us an appointment to get our car fixed the next day. He recommended that we drop the car off in the morning so they could be sure to have room for our car so it wouldn't be left out in the parking lot over night. The car was fixed quickly & they gave us an explanation of what they fixed. The price was very reasonable and their transparency, helpfulness, and skill were refreshing. We had an excellent experience from start to finish. I highly recommend. They are a AAA approved mechanic as well.

The guys were super kind to my being overwhelmed about car issue and getting stuck in there parking lot entrance, they helped move it and quick look at the issue. They gave me realistic expectation of when they would be able to do it, and then same day let me know they would be able to do it next day! Saved me so much stress and worry!! Thank you guys!!

I took my PT Cruiser in because it was overheating. They replaced my water pump which is a major thing on those cars. They explained what needed to be replaced and why. Their pricing is very reasonable. They are courteous and friendly. They have my business for life!
