It's hot topic. It's simply amazing. And with the Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss merch, it's gotten even better. Wish I could work here tbh

I do really love this places style, but nowadays alot of it is like very cheap quality, and super pricey, and also not thicker girl friendly at all.

Elder emo here. Not sure when Hot Topic became so small or stopped being plus size friendly but I didn't see anything above a medium. Most styles were more Kawaii than anything.

The past three times I've stopped in have been disappointing. Never have the jewelry or hair accessories im looking for, Was told they have a problem with shoplifters and they keep that stuff up front near the door (foolish). Really should get some better theft deterrent.

HotTopic was always my favorite store to visit during every mall trip. However, I started to feel pretty unwelcome every time I enter the store. Most of the employees are kind and friendly when interacting. But more recently, I feel ignored and rejected. I'm rarely spoken to and often just stared at by staff. One associate in particular, Spencer, makes me feel like the plague whenever I enter the store. To put it simply, we knew each other in highschool, nearly five years ago. But our histories as individuals should not interfere in a professional setting. I enter this store as a customer with the intention of spending money and nothing else. I often find myself putting back the items I desire simply because I do not feel welcome at the checkout counter. I started visiting with my sister because of this, and would find that he treats her entirely differently than he does me. He'll welcome others into the store but won't say a word to us. He'll speak to her, offering to show her the dressing room, stating how cute the merch she chose is and even offering a discount on an item she found in the clearance section but that wasn't supposed to be there. When we check out together, he'll hardly look at me or acknowledge me. When given my phone number, he didn't check to clarify that it's the right profile for the right customer. When I was alone, he'd busy himself across the store or hide in the back. And ever since I started making my usual visits, the other workers started treating me differently as well. I likely won't be returning to this location, as it always feels hostile and unwelcoming every time I enter. Even my sister had made comments about the staring or how I am not acknowledged/treated the same way that she is. Regardless of their personal opinion on me, I should be treated like every other customer. Especially since I am not trying to cause any harm but enjoy the merchandise HotTopic provides without having to go all the way to Northtown to do it. I have only ever engaged in strictly formal conversation the very few times he has spoken to me. I understand it may be uncomfortable seeing someone from your past in a work setting, as even I am a bit alarmed whenever I run into him. But I do not try to make him feel threatened, nor do I want to. It's unfortunate that I can't enjoy my favorite store anymore without feeling like everyone just wants me to leave.

Spencer is an absolute sweetheart! I told Spencer what was going on in my day and they went far and beyond the call of duty to make it so much better! Spencer thank you so much. I appreciate you!
With much love,
