I love this store! the people are so nice and amazing and the prices are fantastic! the manager erin is so sweet and helped me with everything i needed, the employees jaide and bonnie also made sure my visit was great definitely coming back!

Im keeping my name and everyone else mentioned confidential. This company wasn’t hard to work with in the beginning. Everything was alright until the management, Deanna Strang realized my potential and started abusing that. Overworking me, scheduling me to work every department and even take on managerial work as a sales associate because she refused to do her general manager role. She would spend time networking while her sales associates did everything for her. Not to mention her indirect abuse of authority when it came to her part-time manager who’s been working for three years. Everyone was doing her job. I thought this was a great opportunity since I was manipulated into believing such. After a year of this I decided to quit to which my last paycheck was mailed to me. Keep in mind I wasn’t aware that my last check would be mailed as I ended up moving/switching addresses. With this, my check is STILL missing and it’s been over a month. It’s ILLEGAL for a business to withhold my check AND NOT telling me where my last check was going to be sent. I’ve emailed corporate as well as HR and everyone I could possibly contact. Nobody helped. May I also mention the mice in the back? Or how unkept/dirty the store is? Just step a foot into the rue store and you’ll see dust and stains on clothing.

Bit of a long review, but I want to include as much detail as possible.I had been working here since early January. I liked it well enough for a first time retail job, however now I would strongly NOT recommend working here for future career endeavors to anyone. And not just this particular branch, the entire company.For background: Recently I had been hospitalized/institutionalized at a local mental health treatment inpatient facility for about 4 1/2 days. During this time, I had 0 personal cell access. The only cell access I had was for a few short minutes in the hospital before all of my personal belongings were locked away for when I was finally discharged. That’s how it works in these places.My management team and coworkers were made aware as soon as I POSSIBLY could, which was about 2 days into my stay recovering from a MENTAL HEALTH MEDICAL EMERGENCY. Not only that, a coworker of mine LET THEM KNOW where I was prior and that I had no phone access and was receiving treatment. I called them once, again, about 2 days into my stay, to inform them that I’d be out by the end of the week most likely and was hoping to return to work.Upon coming home from treatment today, I was informed after reaching out that I’d been terminated from my position even though they knew I was out for at least a few days. They were well aware and have no excuses. They told me per company policy, after 2 days of no call no show, it was grounds for automatic termination. I find it to be completely and utterly ridiculous and unacceptable to expect someone in a medical crisis to prioritize work instead of their healing and pain. I did NOT abandon my job. Had this been a medical issue with my physical health, it would not be the same situation. That is CRUEL, UNACCEPTABLE, AND RIDICULOUS. Rue21’s company policy does NOT value their employees or their well being. One of my managers whom I reached to upon being discharged was also very salty with me, telling me I should’ve called, should’ve texted, and I definitely had cell phone access if I was able to send a message to my coworker about what was going on. My apologies, I’ll remember next time I’m having a medical mental health crisis to give a 48 hour notice that I plan on being in the hospital for a few days and to completely set aside the emergency I’m experiencing in order to put every last ounce of energy I have into a job that doesn’t pay me a living wage in the first place. Absolutely ridiculous.I have several grievances with Rue21, but this has to be the biggest. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE looking for a job or looking for places to shop. They’ve made it clear they prioritize profits over people. We’re not talking weeks and weeks without word from me or anyone else, we’re talking a couple days, MAYBE 3.Rue21 is not a company I’ve have good experience with as a person or an employee. I very much regret applying.As for Rue21’s management team and final decision maker in my termination while I was hospitalized, have the day you deserve.Thank you for reading.

Went in there for black Friday and some girl was working and she was sick and coughing everywhere no sanitizer was used ended up getting COVID such a bad place to go.
