I am getting so tired of how these devices malfunction. I pay now 173 dollars a month for something that violates me without even giving me a chance to blow!! I went in LAST WEEK with this issue. They replaced my device and also charged me a 30 dollar calibration fee. Why should I have to pay that when it isn’t my fault the device is malfunctioning? The new device they gave me is now doing the same exact thing as the old one and I don’t have it in my budget to pay for another calibration for something that isn’t my fault. Have had ignition interlock for almost two years and it’s been hell the whole time.

It is a rare day that this place isn't completely inundated with traffic, since their other location closed. The front desk lady is not as friendly as the guys who come out and do the calibrations. Now, SmartStart customer service, is a whole different issue. Their call center puts you on hold for literal hours at a time, and on more than one occasion they either gave us bad information or no information. Mistakes here could be the difference of staying compliant on probation, keeping your license, and of course paying excessive fines. How can they be so inept? Obviously people who use their services, aren't doing it by choice, but the least they could do is be good at what they do... and they can't even do that.

Talk about banging ur head over and over and over. These clowns install something in a car and they know it will have issuies. When I drop off my car it went from 1to 3 hours to alll day. After finding the issuies won’t correct 8 have to install it in a different vehicle. Now big deal drop off car at 7 am and at 10 am they said I missed my appointment and I need to to reschedule. These clowns are lazy and have zero knowledge of the job they are supposed to do. Total fail.

My friend went here in the morning to deal with an undeserved lockout. She was seen promptly and the issue was dealt with and the technician agreed that the lockout was indeed not her fault. She was happy that there would be no charge to her. The tech was pleasant and worked efficiently.The only gripe that could be voiced was when we tried to ask a usability question regarding the equipment. It truly seemed that the tech was baffled by the query. I thought that was understandable given the farct that he is not an actual user of the interlock system. He is, however, a user of the diagnostic system.It appeared he may have felt compelled to give some kind of an answer. He nervously blurted out a suggestion that I already knew to be incorrect. Then he took another stab at it and it was obvious that, by this time, he was grasping at straws.So I think he should have offered to try to find out the answer for us and contacted us later with it. He also could have referred us to a supervisor or someone else who was more familiar with the system. There would have been no shame in confessing that he didn't know the answer.

Rude employees that destroy you trim panels when installing and removing units. When asking to speak to anyone above them they claim that there is no one else. Calls to the corporate phone number send you into a endless loop for hours and eventually drop only to have to start again.

Out of all the people I have had to interact with in a customer service role in the last two years, and specifically for the folks I’ve had to interact with since my DUI, Ashley and Ray at Smart Start in north Spokane were the NICEST and most HELPFUL. Truly customer service like it was in the old days. I would almost recommend getting a DUI just to interact with them (joking). But really these people were so far above and beyond in their job that it is worth noting. Smart Start is incredibly lucky to have two people like this, there’s lots of companies with more than a hundred employees that don’t even have one. Good people. Justin Randall giving two thumbs up and five stars. Very glad I didn’t go with one of their competitors. Ashley and Ray are ideal and made my smart start experience as smooth as it possibly could have been.

The people there are awesome and do their best. Don't listen to the haters who blame their misfortunes on others.I've used other interlock places and their customer service suuuuucckkksss!!It's quick to talk to a human when you call the Smart Start hotline.
