About Sumner Community Food Bank
Sumner Community Food Bank: Providing Nourishment and Dignity Established in 1983, the Sumner Community Food Bank is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of its local community. This food bank offers a wide range of nutritious food items, including fresh produce, dairy products, and an abundance of bread. The friendly and welcoming volunteers ensure that each visitor is treated with dignity, guiding them through the selection process. While the first visit may take a little longer, subsequent appointments are streamlined, allowing clients to "shop" for the items they need. The food bank's setup is designed to provide a positive experience, with labeled shelves indicating the allowed quantities per family. The staff is known for their professionalism, maintaining a commanding presence to ensure fairness and prevent any attempts to take advantage of the system. The Sumner Community Food Bank is open on Saturdays, providing a valuable resource for those in need. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate any surplus or rejected items, as the food bank is dedicated to minimizing waste and increasing awareness of hunger in the community. With a focus on good stewardship and community support, the Sumner Community Food Bank continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those it serves.

these community supports are very needed and appreciated. nothing fun about being broke and its quite embarassing not being able to put food on the table. thanks again for the hope.

Super friendly volunteers. Greeted me right away to drop off my donation. I have not been a customer but we got a tour. It was cool to see that clientele get to actually shop for the food they need instead of getting boxes of the same as everyone else.
