DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM SUNSET. They are dishonest, don't honor their warranty for life and it's completely false advertisement. They also do not care if your vehicle is u safe to drive. I had an approved torque converter, it failed, they replaced it again and now that the transmission has failed due to faulty parts from sunset they don't want to replace my transmission even though their failed part caused the metal in my transmission. I submitted all my receipts from the work and warranty company claimed they couldn't validate so they will not replace it. Keep in mind this has been all over the last 7 months. Not sure how that process works but they are the receipts I got from the mechanic. They do not help you get resolution or offer solutions. As a previous loyal customer I will never purchase again. Profits over safety!

This business consistently SPAMs Craigslist with car ads that contain no pricing information. Their link back to their website also contains no pricing information or vehicle data such as Carfax. If you chat with their rep on their website, they will claim to have no access to pricing details. Calling them on the phone results in high pressure sales tactics to get the client to the lot in the middle of nowhere (Sumner) at all costs. He had the gall to tell me that "price doesn't matter" for most clients. Pass on this bullshinto.

I bought my first car from this dealer in 2019 and they lied about it being AWD and i did not get the information until i got the registration. In 2023 i am looking for a vehicle in a specific price range so i look at the website. There are no prices online, I spent 20+ minutes talking to a sales representative to not get my question answered, and they asked me if I wanted to come in and look at their options. Very predatory out of date way of selling cars. I do not recommend giving any money to this establishment.

Last week I had some dealership service performed on my Chevrolet. I brought in a spare OEM key fob and asked if they would program it to my vehicle while it was there. Service advisor Chelsea Garrett informed me that since it was not in my appointment notes I would need a separate appointment. I presented the OEM key fob, she quoted me $40 to have it programmed. Today at my scheduled follow-up appointment I was informed it would be $197 plus tax to program the same key fob. This is a 500% increase over my quote. They now say it's because I didn't purchase the key fob from this dealership. This is nothing new as I had the key fob at my original appointment and they examined it. I like getting all my vehicle service done at the Chevy dealership, but was disappointed with this bait and switch tactic to up-charge me by 500%.

The check engine light came on in my Colorado. I received an email from OnStar that the truck needed to be service within a day. Concerned I called Sunset Chevrolet. I called 3 times to the service department. 3 different people answered and when they heard my explanation of the problem promptly hung up on me. I called Puyallup Chevrolet who helped me right away to get an appointment. I will NEVER do business at Sunset.

Das T, I was told option 2 was being performed to trace the "short" etc. and that is why the car was there for a week. I think the car sat, was driven by the service manager home, and returned to my mother after she paid $200 for Sunset to replace the EVAP purge valve which GM covered. And I wonder why that valve wasn't replaced when the car went in the first time. We'll never know. One thing is for certain. No one in my family and no one who I can convince will ever do business with Sunset ever again. I am not surprised this happened given the reviews on Yelp. My advice to anyone reading this is to find yourself another stealership to do business with. Odds are they won't be much better but somewhat better is still better.

This place is scum on the bottom of my shoe, and I say this with prove behind my review. I'll lay out facts of the owners, the person behind the desk running it for the owners. Not only is this shop falling apart, your lead lube tech gives out information of leaks that aren't getting fixed how is a multi millions company not taking care of the shop maintenance and you guys expect to take your vehicles there to get proper maintenance it's a joke. Now the employees there, what employees? The lead lube tech that is always the last standing on the lube rack. Cause Tim sure knows how to fire a lot of employees. I hope this post reaches higher ups and people that have thought it's ok to take their vehicles here and I hope these people save the headache and hassle and just go somewhere else. Hate this place with a burning passion.

Do yourself a favor, keep driving. The warranty for life is purely a sales tactic. They don't even offer GMAC extended warranty. First Chevy dealer I've ever purchased from that uses strictly some third party you've never heard of before. The sales team is poorly managed. They delivered my brand new truck with missing parts that were specifically called out on the window sticker. Tried to tell me the truck comes as is! This was a brand new vehicle. Eventually I was able to speak with a manager and convince him to do the right thing (although I knew legally they were obligated). They sprayed the bed liner on in-house apparently. S*** job. The bed cover took over a week for them to secure. Three weeks after the purchase I was so pissed off at them, that I debated lawyering up and returning the vehicle even if it was going to come at a loss. Read the rest of the reviews. I'm not the only person providing the same narrative. This place sucks! The Puyallup Chevrolet team is a far better group IMO. Not perfect, but they try to do the right thing for the customer.

Dad brought it in for me for a couple recalls and truck was in and out in about 2 hours and parked out of shop. My Dad seen truck moved out of shop at 11:15 and went and asked service desk if it was done, and he was told "they probably have more to do, because desk didn't have paperwork yet" (desk clerk didn't even go ask or check to see if it was done), but truck didn't move until 1:30 when he was called that it was ready for him to pick up. kind of surprised because service is usually pretty good......

I believe Sunset Chevrolet is both intentionally dishonest and flat out incompetent. I understand my unique circumstances won't apply to 95% of their potential clients but I do think it shows the lack of integrity, care, and overall customer appreciation which any potential client should take into consideration before giving them your business. I live in Arizona. It is currently very hard to find Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoes. I happened to find one online at Sunset Chevrolet. They were asking $5,000 over MSRP (I hope people take note of all the dealers gouging their clients during these times) but I understood the supply and demand so agreed to make the purchase. I had 5 requirements for the purchase. Black exterior, black interior, captains chairs, cooled seats, and the rear view mirror being a camera. Obviously it's pretty easy to see what the color is, see the seat configuration but most pics won't show if the rear view mirror is a camera or not so I asked my salesperson Doug to please go check in person. Doug comes back and assured me it had a camera for a rear view. After closing the deal I set up for the car to be delivered. Upon delivery I didn't have a single document to say I bought the car, no registration, no temp tag, but most importantly no rear view camera. Doug flat out lied to me. At this point there's not much I can do. I accept I got burned. I'm now 2 months post purchase and I've yet to receive the registration I paid them for with the purchase. After doing all the leg work myself I find out they miscalculated my tax, registration, etc and for me to legally register my car I need to pay the MVD $850. I call them assuming they'll handle it. Nope!!! Apparently their miscalculation is my problem and my expense. They 100% agreed they messed up. However I'm on the hook and they could care less. Stay away from these people. They're both incompetent and dishonest.

Worst service dept experience ever!!! First let me preface, my husband and I have purchased several vehicles from Sunset and referred some friends who purchased a truck. We took our 2020 Tahoe that we bought new from Sunset in for a regular oil change last week. I have only ever had this vehicle touched by their dept. I let them know when booking that it was randomly having issues starting when pressing the start button so we scheduled to have it looked at the same time. They informed me, even though we paid extra for the extended warranty and 40k miles we would be charged $180 to look at it and diagnose for mechanics time. To be fair, I agreed (though I wasnt sure why this wouldnt be under warranty). I just wanted to figure out why it was doing this since we were already there. We dropped it off last tues and was told to call the following day around 3pm. When I called, I spoke with the service mgr Matt who said they couldnt find anything and would call back when oil change was done. I called my husband at work and he had questions so he then called and left a msg for Matt so he could find out what things they did to look for the problem to get better understanding. No call back. We then get a text from Matt around 5pm that car is ready for pickup so we rushed down there from Gig Harbor. When we get in the door I could sense that Matt already had a chip on his shoulder (maybe he was having a bad day). My husband already had his card out to pay then asked Matt what items were checked so we could understand the $180 price tag better and his comment was it was for his guys time (fair enough)..but again my husband asked "but what did you do though?" and he then pushed the paperwork at my husband and said "read" with a smirk on his face and attitude. We are very fair people and value peoples time. It wasnt about the $, but the principal because he then said they drove it around the block and it started no problem. Right there we caught Matt in a lie because we informed him we have the onstar smart driver app which is very detailed and shows time stamps, dates, mph and the mapping of when and where the car moves...it had not moved since we dropped it off the day before. Matt then got even more defensive and said he didnt want to deal with us. He took at as us yelling at him and said he had been yelled at all day by customer's and definitly wasnt going to be yelled at by us. I was so embarrassed and in utter shock at the disrespect he was giving us when we were trying to get an understanding (definetly no yelling involved) of what had been done to find the problem. We felt like all they did was turn the start button on then off and wanted to scam us out of $180. He said we were not valuing his mechanics time. This is beyond not who we are. We never mind paying for a service. My husband asked if he checked the starter because he had a mechanical background and was a little familiar and Matt's response was "cool". I butted in and told him I couldnt believe he was treating us this way when we have purchased several vehicles, referred and only taken our car here and he says to me"cool, we are a different dept."I was litterally shaking when we left and my husband was pissed. We never mind paying the $180 and definetly value people's time, mine included. We only wanted to understand what was done which was more than a fair question, because to be honest we felt we were getting scammed. I cant believe he is a manager too! Our friend who purchased a truck from them and picked up earlier in the day for a service said the same about their dealings with him. This is not how customer's should ever be treated. I don't care if the service dept is a different dept..they are a reflection of Sunset. Funny thing is, I always get a survey sent to me after every service...oddly enough not this time. We will be purchasing a new truck before end of the year and this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and will be going elsewhere. Try some Kindness and compassion Matt!

If you need to buy a Vehicle go see Vanis at sunset Chevrolet. I bought my F-350 Super Duty from him two years ago and he continues to help me out whenever I am down there. He goes above and beyond to make sure I am treated right. I had an Issue with my truck in the service department so I called him up and he took care of everything. If you buy from Vanis he will take care of you years after you buy from him. I will only buy my Vehicles from Vanis at Sunset and the free oil changes for life is hard to beat!
