Current resident here. The apartments themselves are fine, but stay away from anything towards the back of the complex (G or H area). The back of the complex bumps against a fence with other apartments on the other side. These apartments are run down, many windows are boarded up and there is a regular police presence and other sketchy activities going on. There are also open areas in the fence allowing people to come and go freely between the two complexes. As mentioned, the apartments are fine, but stay away from the back of the complex. Nothing good happening back there, and it doesn't feel 'safe' by any means.

Clean and friendly. No smoking. Dumpster and recycling areas are remarkably clean.

Had a confirmed touring appointment for 3, got another confirmation at 1 pm, and by 2pm they cancelled it on me. Totally unprofessional

The place it's self is alright no major problems with anything. But if you are applying here I would suggest that you do not get put in the back the "complex" by the G units is run down and is occupied by what would seem to be squatters. Loads of drug activity and as of this writing there have been 9 nights that I've heard gunshots close by and 1 person in said "complex" got shot 4 times last night sep 20 2023. Decent place it's self but if they say your going in a g or h unit I would say strongly suggest otherwise

I signed my lease under the impression I was paying for a renovated unit. The only new thing in here is the carpet the rest is obviously not renovated there is mold behind the toilet tank nobody has come to take care of yet....and the w/d is a THIN/TWIN like extra small. For a family of 5 an extra small loading washer....that is old in itself....I absolutely love the neighborhood tho. The office is quite nice and the pool is amazing and the clubhouse offers the kids a snack option whenever they come in(ofc not everyday type thing..)The pond and the ducks and the sounds of nature at night and during the day is so serene and calming, it really does ALMOST makes up for the false impression of fully renovated unit at the rent rate is just disappointing.Overall tho this is a great place and environment for family or anxious socially phobic it is very nice and quiet here as in a very nice area

Kirstie hall is an amazing manager and you can tell she cares about the community she looks over, I never have any issues and if there are they're quickly taken care of, I'd recommend living here to anyone I know based off of my experience

I’ve been renting for 8 years now and this has been the best apartments I’ve been in. It’s not perfect, but what place is. If your looking for luxury keep looking, but if you want a quite, laid back, friendly environment this is a great choice. Very conveniently located. I will give huge props to the property manager Kirstie! One of my good friends has been in property management and I know the difficulty of running a complex. Kirstie does it as good as anyone. She’s a rockstar. Every question or complaint is handled right away and the communication is great. Thank you Kirstie for creating a great living environment!

Lived here for 5 1/2 months and every month gets worse and worse. I had a longboard stolen off my patio the first week I was here. I had someone spray paint graffiti on my porch a couple months ago. Over the holidays, our sink was so clogged it wouldn’t drain at all, and it took them over a week to fix.The worst part is that for the last two months we’ve been charged a vacancy fee even though we clearly live here. They promised to give us a credit each month for it but have yet to follow through. So I’m just paying extra money I know I’ll never see again.

As someone who was wary of apartment life living as a first time renter with my boyfriend, my experience at The Lakes was very pleasant and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. What got me there were the the adorable ducks, charming lake ponds and the units (1 BDR for us) which were decent sizes with an open concept and pretty reasonable in price compared to most of the complexes in Fife and the surrounding cities, Puyallup and Tacoma. The best benefit was that Kirstie in managment genuinely cares about her tenants needs, questions and concerns. She was always there for us during our struggles with the covid pandemic, we can't thank her enough. The office was always open doors and we never felt like a burden. She was always eager to help, gave us relevent resources during our hard times and kept it real. You can tell she not only takes pride in the complex but authentically cares for the tenants. Also, shout out to maintance team for working hard to be there for the tenants as well. We've only had minor issues and they were always resolved in a good time frame and worked hard to upkeep the grounds. Overall, def recommend the Lakes.

As a long time resident of The Lakes, 7yrs, I’m a tad baffled by so many low star reviews, it’s been my experience that The Lakes Apts deliver exactly what they claim to, good, clean, well maintained apartments for a reasonable price.I’ve had a few minor maintenance issues over the years and every single time, the maintenance crew has responded quickly and resolved whatever problem occurred. When I’ve had non maintenance concerns I just call or swing by the office and my issues/concerns have been dealt with to my satisfaction. The last few years my go to gal in the office has been Kirsty , she has the knowledge, skill and authority to handle issues quickly and thoroughly and she’s a pleasure to deal with. The Lakes is a good place to live.

I have lived at The Lakes for almost two years. And I just re-signed another year lease so obviousely I like it! The staff at this complex are incredible. Genuinely friendly. From Kirstie and Jennifer in the office, to Dirk in Maintenance. They seem to really care about the people who live here. The apartments are well thought out. (I posted some pictures, without a written review, some months back.) For a relatively small space you get all that you need. A large master bedroom, a bath with a shower/tub combo, a gigantic walk in closet. The living room provides access to the deck as well as seating for six. In a separate area, right off the kitchen, they have room for a medium sized dining room table. Speaking of the kitchen, probably not designed for gourmet cooks. Little small, but it does have a window to the outside! Of course the requisite stove and fridge are there but also a disposal and dishwasher. To top it all off, a compact washer/dryer sits in it's own alcove. No more laundry rooms! Nice quiet complex, dog friendly, with many parks nearby. Beautifully maintained grounds. I wouldn't mind a little touch up paint on some of the buildings hand rails and deck railings. Brand new grocery store just opened up a mile away, right across from the library! Great location, whether you stay in town, or explore the surrounding cities. (Federal Way, Tacoma, Puyallup, Milton are all just minutes away.) I'm really glad I landed at The Lakes at Fife. I feel like I am home.
