Had such a pleasant time last year camping for my birthday at Dragon’s Gate. It was a pleasure to meet and get to know Aurial and Moe and the Fairies. Heading back this year for another weekend.

A peaceful, spiritual and elemental place. My family and I felt this earthy connection the moment we reached the gate. But the connection gets much stronger when enter. I strongly recommend people who seek natural energy or want a mind and body relaxation, Dragon's gate will be your place for that. The owners and family are super friendly and nice!

Though this location is beautiful, the price and the attitudes of the owners made it somewhere I don't think I'll come back to. They stopped by our campsite at 830am and yelled at us in a very condescending way about a simple miscommunication: our second car came later in the day and when we pulled in, nobody was at the gate to check us in and there was no sign anywhere, though they claimed to have a sign out. We assumed since our first car had already checked in that we were okay to do so, and since we didn't see anybody to help us we continued on. When one of the owners came to our site, she was not wearing a mask and did not stay 6 feet away from us while yelling about how she waited for us by the gate, which, she did not. It seemed clear that she would never talk this way to guests who were older or who, to be real, were cis! Not only this but the outhouses were almost unusable. Four curtains clipped together, a walker sitting atop a palette with a bucket in the center. Very little privacy especially when a gust of wind picks up. The outhouse was literally covered in piss and s**** We went swimming in their pool, but I would recommend driving to the end of the road to the river and save $100. They overcharged us for a hot tub and pool that were overrun with algae and dead bugs, all the while watching us closely from their deck and still not wearing masks. Also, there was dog p*** in the grass on the way to the showers. And that was just for a two hour time slot, in which they did not take precautions to keep us social distanced from the previous group. All in all, maybe it was just a bad day for them but everything altogether confirms that I won't be returning.

The owners did not wear masks the entire time we were there or speaking to them. They did not respect social distancing either. We got there around six and checked our party in and the second half of our party came about an hour and a half after us. They were aware we had others coming after us. We did not understand that the second half of our party needed to check in immediately. We planned on checking them in the next morning so we could get settled in and eat dinner. The next morning the owner pulls up to our campsite at 8:30am and was so angry at us for not checking our other people in. We did not understand that it was so pressing because it was not made clear to us. She yelled and scolded us like we were children though we were all adults. She was so angry at us and told us to "go think about what's right" and then drove away. I don't think she would have treated us that way if it wasn't for our appearance as young people. It was like she thought we were teenagers or something so that gave her the right to scold us. That morning was very upsetting and made us feel awful. Later we approached the owners and continued to apologize as we had before and explained how we just didn't understand and it was not intentional. I think she thought we had just snuck the rest of our party in after the 8:00 check in time to avoid late fees because she claimed she did not see the rest of our friends' car come in and she watches the gate "like a hawk". Later that day we needed to check our last friend in who had just arrived and went to wait for her to check us in multiple times throughout the day yet both the owners were nowhere in sight. At the end of our trip when we needed to check out a few minutes before the noon check out time neither of the owners were there again though we waited. She also charged us a late fee even though all of the people in our party came way before the 8:00 check in time. It was like she was punishing us for the improper check in. During the trip we decided we wanted to swim in their pool. It cost $95 for access to the pool and hot tub. The pool was dirty you could not see the bottom and there were dead bugs in it everywhere. The owners also watched and listened to us the entire time from their balcony. They also asked if we would be okay for their dogs to be around the pool and when we said no they still let their dogs out (though they were behind a fence) the dogs growled and barked and there was dog p*** all around the pool. It was a beautiful pool but just felt gross, turned my swim suit green, and was wayy too expensive for what it was and for the crazy lack of privacy. Would suggest going to the nearby river instead. The outhouse at the campsite was just a walker with a toilet seat over a pallet with a hole in the ground. Which would have been fine were it not for the hefty price of the campsite and the fact that it was covered in piss and feces. It was also just covered by a curtain which was soaked in pee at the bottom and would blow up and away when a gust of wind happened. The water spout near our camp site had a dead rat directly underneath. Not sure if it came out of the water spout or not but it was unpleasant. Overall the environment of the place was very hostile and not pleasant though the location was nice. The owner did not treat us like paying customers. She treated us like her children. It was very unprofessional and felt like it crossed a lot of boundaries.

The owner who runs this place is extremely rude, not to mention she didn't wear a mask during any of our interactions or respect social distancing. The campsite is overpriced, and she charged us 60$ for the pool and 35$ for the hot tub even though it was dirty, and full of algae and dead bugs. She sat and monitored us closely the entire time we used the pool, which was very uncomfortable for our entire party. The outhouses were also horrible, covered in urine and no privacy, literally just sheets surrounding a toilet seat placed on a walker over a shallow hole. The campsite itself was pretty but again, very overpriced considering there were no usable bathrooms and it was essentially just a mowed down patch in a field. Absolutely do not recommend. The owner was distrustful of us immediately, and was clearly treating us with less respect than her other guests due to our appearance. She came to our campsite to literally yell at us because we failed to check in properly, but there was nobody present near the entrance, nor was there any signage telling us to stop. She was nowhere to be found when we repeatedly tried to speak with her, but then showed up at our campsite unreasonably early in the morning, waking us all up to yell about the improper check in.

Wonderful campsite with a lovely lady overseeing the whole operation. There was an outhouse and potable water on site and the campground was very spacious. The only negative was mosquitoes but I'm not going to knock them a star for nature. It was a good time and I highly recommend this place if you want to car camp.

The people are really nice, but they don't get a lot of help so most of it is rundown and overgrown. The pool and hot tub, however, are FANTASTIC! Absolutely beautiful!
