Great place to stay! Above all the staff is incredible. Everybody seems to be very happy working there. The rooms are very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. I can't wait to go

Roomy, clean and friendly. What a hidden gem. First time we stayed but found it to be a great spot. Casino shuttle will even pick you up and bring you back.

We booked here for 1 night as part of a motorcycle trip, based solely on Internet info. What a great pick (thankfully). Friendly staff. Clean, updated rooms with nice, modern bathrooms. Quiet. Good WiFi & TV. Overlooks the bay. Fenced dog park. Hot tub & sauna. Pool. Reasonable rates. Again, clean! We'll be back.!

Not high end but that's why it's amazing. Sometimes you just need comfy.

We've been coming here for years but noticed the upkeep of the motel and especially the grounds is really sliding. There are weeds everywhere, no decent outdoor furniture and the motel desperately needs to be painted. The bathroom and kitchen were clean but the table in our living area was dirty and sticky, as were the remotes. The heating vent in the bedroom was grimy. When we checked in, they found only one key for our unit and the front desk employee didn't know how to give us the veteran discount after she had processed our credit card. We love the location, but this place needs an update, a deep cleaning and proper landscaping.

Absolute hidden gem, I will certainly be coming back. The place is off the beaten path but if that's your thing this is your place. Staff is very nice and this has to be the first place I've ever seen that has a fenced area for dogs.....what an amazing

Excellent place to relax and get away. Our family reunion was hosted there and I was impressed by the staff. The service was commendable!

The room was not bad when you got in, however the outside is very run down. They did not clean our room even though we stayed two nights. They leave you two coffee sweetener packets but you need two for one cup of coffee. The staff were out smoking when we got there and said we will be in in a moment. They took a really long time finding our reservation. The stairs out back are broken so you cannot use them. The banquet room was really nice as we used it for an event. That part was really good. It has a fireplace, kitchen and nice restroom.Rooms: Actually not bad. We liked the separate kitchen and living room.

I gave 4 stars to the room because it is exactly what I was looking for. Quiet, modern and well equipped. However, they should have daily housekeeping and restock with coffee, coffee filters and sugar/artificial sweetener. They did not replace the towels during our 3 day stay. The location is not worth, there is nothing to do around here. The website is deceptive because there is no beach access, you have to drive about 7 minutes for the beach. While having the pool onsite is great, you have to ask the office to unlock the pool's gate and then you have to let them know when you are done so they can lock the gate. They should just leave the gate unlocked until the evening.Nearby activities: Casino. Beach 7 minutes by car

The Wallace family gathered from near and far to celebrate a special two-day reunion at the Shoalwater Bay Casino and the Tradewinds by the Bay Resort. They ranged in age from three to eighty- three. The Tradewinds provided more festivities than imaginable, cornhole, volleyball, swimming, sauna/spa, horseshoes, I could go on and on. I would be remised not to mention that the hotel rooms at Tradewinds are like mini condos with all the amenities, The caterers from the casino and Tradewind Resort outdid themselves, and the wide variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts were enough to satisfy everyone. I would like to extend a special thanks to Dawn and Jason Mallory and staff for their tireless efforts, to General Manager Mike Rasmussen for without his blessing it wouldn't have been possible. Everyone was happy to be there, and the feeling of celebration was great from the moment the first family member arrived. The gathering was special not only because of the wonderful company, delicious food, and fun activities, but also because Shaolwater and Tradewinds provided an opportunity for the Wallace family to come together and strengthen their bond. Everything was included in the price, and the price was reasonable.

First impressions are usually everything. Driving up to the turn on Pomeroy Dr. the sign is worn and old. Driving down the lane towards the motel is a little eerie but green and lush. The motel is not inviting at first sight. It is run down and in need of a serious face lift. There are bird feces everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE! When we checked in, the two ladies at the front counter followed us into the office after their smoke break. They were kind women and very helpful at getting us checked in. Upon entering the unit, we were pleasantly surprised at the updates. The room was spacious. It had a separate bedroom with a queen bed. The kitchenette opened into a living area that faced views of the bay. The downside to the suite is that there was bird feces all over the windows. The swallows have many nests up in the eves. There is a door leading to the back deck. To the left of the door there is a staircase leading down to the bay side of the Motel. The stairs are blocked off with yellow caution tape. Both hand rails were severely damaged so the stairs were unusable. In one of the pictures you will see that there is an old coffee can that is half full of cigarette bits ? Next to the can there was an empty beer bottle. We enjoyed our stay for the most part but as you can tell by the description of this review, there were a lot of bad things about the place that accompanied the good. We believe they are all fixable issues and we hope this will be the case. One more noteworthy thing. Right outside the bedroom window is a flood light that cannot be turned off. It leaves the impression as you wake up throughout the night that it was daylight. It would be a great investment for the motel to put black out curtains over the blinds.Rooms: Spacious with great views of the bay.Nearby activities: Not much to do in the area. The few restaurants in town are permanently closed or close by 8pm

Quiet get away. Big,deep bath tub. Pool.Sauna and hot tub. Confrence center that can accommodate around 30 people. Wonderful views. Shuttle available to and from the casino, about a mile away. There is a convenience store near the casino. There is no restaurant nearby at this time. Bring food. They have kitchens in each room..Rooms: Comfortable bed in a separate area. Small kitchen that is fully equipped. Good size bathtub. Love seat with TV and electric fireplace.Nearby activities: Casino, Westport, beaches. Nelson Crab at the end of the road. There is a restaurant in the Tokeland hotel. It is a quiet place far from the city.

Very pretty area. We had our sister's wedding here. Management was an amazing help and we couldn't be happier. The rooms are nicely laid-out, updated, and very clean. The event space is large, with views of the beach. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathrooms are spacious. Everything was clean. We also loved the fenced-in dog areas. Many of us were able to bring our dogs to stay with us. We had a fun bonfire in the evening. We love it so much that we're going back soon for her baby shower ?. The only slight downside was that the sauna and hot tub area smelled (like seaweed), so we didn't stay in long.
